Abstract:A novel protocol for the facile synthesis of chiral 3-substituted 1,3,4,5-tetrahydrobenzo[e] [1,4]diazepin-2-ones via a domino reaction has been developed, which involves a cascade of S(N)2 nucleophilic substitution and copper-catalyzed C-N coupling reactions of a-amino acid amides and orthohalobenzyl halides. This protocol has some merits, such as one-pot process, easy operation, a wide scope of substrates. Furthermore, no heavy racemization occurs during the reaction.

Abstract:A copper‐catalyzed cyclization of alkynyl bromides and oxazolidine‐2‐thiones is described. C−N and C−S bonds are simultaneously constructed and a multi‐step process occurred to give the five‐member heterocycles of thiazol‐2‐ones containing 2‐alkylthio‐oxazolines. Optically active oxazolidine‐2‐thiones undergo the cyclization with complete retention of configuration.

Abstract:The synthesis of a series of unprecedented tricyclic heterocycles, 1,2,4-triazolo[3,2-d][1,5]benzothiazepine 6-oxides (5a-i), was accomplished via cycloaddition of the allene-like cations 3, derived from thiochroman-4-one arylhydrazones, to the triple bond of nitriles and ensuing rings expansion annulation. The structure of one product (5h) has been unambiguously determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
