Abstract:The direct oxidative N-acylation reaction of primary amides with aryl/alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes was achieved in the presence of azolium salt C3 and an inorganic base using 3,3',5,5'-tetra-tert-butyldipherioquinone as the oxidant, thus providing an efficient approach for the synthesis of three types of imide compounds including N-sulfonylcarboxamides, N-sulfinylcarboxamides, and dicarboxyimides in good yield.

Abstract:A simple, highly efficient, and general strategy for the direct synthesis of amino-(N-alkyl)benzenesulfonamides has been accomplished via direct N-alkylation of aminobenzenesulfonamides bearing both different types of amino groups with alcohols as alkylating agents. Notably, this research exhibited the potential for the recognition of different types of amino groups in the N-alkylation of complex molecules with alcohols, facilitating the progress of the transition-metal-catalyzed "hydrogen autotransfer (or hydrogen-borrowing) process.

Abstract:Iodine-mediated intermolecular C-N and C-I bond formation of alkenes is described. A series of alkenes could be selectively converted into the corresponding aminoiodination products, which are versatile building blocks in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. Wide substrate scope, broad functional group tolerance and easy scale-up operation make this protocol very practical and attractive in synthetic chemistry.

Abstract:A stereoselective N -alkenylation of azoles with alkynes and iodine(III) electrophile is reported. The reaction between various azoles and internal alkynes is mediated by benziodoxole triflate as the electrophile in a trans -fashion, affording azole-bearing vinylbenziodoxoles in moderate to good yields. The tolerable azole nuclei include pyrazole, indazole, 1,2,3-triazole, benzotriazole, and tetrazole. The iodanyl group in the product can be leveraged as a versatile synthetic handle, allowing for the preparation of hitherto inaccessible types of densely functionalized N -vinylazoles.
