Abstract:Four basket-like organic inorganic hybrids, formulated as [{Cu-II(H2O)(2)}{Ca-4(H2O)(4)(HO0.5)(3)(en)(2)}{Ca subset of(P6Mo4Mo14O73)-Mo-V-O-VI}]center dot 7H(2)O (1), (H(4)bth)[{Fe-II(H2O)}{Ca subset of(P6Mo18O73)-O-VI}]center dot 4H(2)O (2), (H(2)bih)(3)[{Cu-II(H2O)(2)}{Ca subset of(P6Mo2Mo16O73)-Mo-V-O-VI}]center dot 2H(2)O (3), (H(2)bib)(3)-[{Fe-II(H2O)(2)}{Ca subset of P6Mo2V (Mo16O73)-O-VI}]center dot 4H(2)O (4), (bth = 1,6-bis-(triazole)hexane; bih = 1,6-bis(imidazol)hexane; bib = 1,4-bis-(imidazole)butane) have been hydrothermally synthesized and fully characterized. Compounds 1-4 contain polyoxoanion [Ca subset of(P6MonMo18-nO73)-Mo-V-O-VI]((6+n)-) (n = 0, 2, or 4) (abbreviated as {P6Mo18O73}) as a basic building block, which is composed of a "basket body" {P2Mo14} unit and a "handle"-liked {P4Mo4} fragment encasing an alkaline-earth metal Ca2+-cation in the cage. Compound 1 exhibits an infrequent 2D layer structure linked by the Cu(H2O)(2) linker and an uncommon tetranudear calcium complex, while compound 2 is 8-connected 2-D layers connected by binuclear {Fe-2(H2O)(3)} segaments, which are observed for the first time as 2-D basket-like assemblies. Compounds 3 and 4 are similar 1D Z-typed chains bonded by M(H2O)(2) units (M = Cu for 3 and Fe for 4). The optical band gaps of 1-4 reveal their semiconductive natures. They exhibit universal highly efficient degradation ability for typical dyes such as methylene blue, methyl orange, and rhodamine B under UV light. The lifetime and catalysis mechanism of the catalysts have been investigated. The compounds also show good bifunctional electrocatalytic behavior for oxidation of amino acids and reduction of NO2-.

The structural analysis shows that all the compounds contain basket-shaped polyoxoanions [M subset of(P6MonMo18-nO73)-Mo-V-O-VI]((6+n)-) (M = Ca, Sr, Bo; n = 2, 3, or 4) (abbreviated as {P6Mo18O73}) as building units, which consists of a tetravacant gamma-Dawson-type{P2Mo14} unit and a "handle"-shaped {P4Mo4} segment encapsulating a single alkaline-earth metals cation M2+ in the central cavity. Compound 1 presents a zero-supported basketlike structure decorated by three discrete {Fe(2,2'-bipy)(3)} fragments. Compound 2 is monosupported by {Ni(4,4'-bipy)(H2O)(3)} subunit. Compound 3 and 4 are bisupported by copper complexes and cadmium complexes, respectively. Compound 5 exhibit a trisupported basket cluster modified with two {Cu(bim)(2)}(2+) and one (Cu(Hbim)(H2O)}(3+) cations. Compounds 6-8 are isostructural clusters exhibiting similar tetra-supported structures. Compound 1, 2, and 4 represent the first basket-like hybrids containing transition-metal iron, nickel, and cadmium, respectively. In addition, compounds 2, 6, 7, and 8 are observed for the first time as a two-electron-reduced basket form. The compounds display good electrocatalytic activity upon the reduction of nitrite, and fluorescent properties.

Abstract:By using an organic ligand, a new inorganic–organic hybrid compound of cobalt oxalate-vanadate, {[H2(en)]Co2(ox)(V4O12)}n 1, where en=ethylenediamine, ox=oxalic acid, has been synthesized hydrothermally from V2O5,CoCl2·6H2O,H2C2O4·2H2O and en. Crystal data 1, orthorhombic, Cmcm space group, a=11.624(2), b=9.968(2), c=14.900(3) Å, R1=0.0298, wR2=0.1172. Compound 1 possesses a three-dimensional open-framework with β-cage and is an antiferromagnetic matter.

Abstract:Three new polyoxometalates with N-(phosphonomethyl)-N-methyl glycine (MeN(CH2CO2H)(CH2PO3H2), H3L), namely, Cd9L6(H2O)12·19H2O (1), {Zn7L6}{Ni(bipy)(H2O)4}2·16H2O (2) (bipy=4,4-bipyridine) and [H3O]{Zn7L6} {Ni(H2O)2(bipy)2}1.5·12H2O (3), have been synthesized and structurally determined.The structures of all three compounds are built from oxo-bridged M6(M)L6(M=Zn or Cd) centered octahedral cages.In compound 1, the [Cd6(Cd)L6] cages are interconnected by Cd2O2 dimeric units into a novel 〈200〉 layer.Packing of such 2D layers results in cavities that are occupied by lattice water molecules.The structure of compound 2 is composed of {Zn6(Zn)L6}4− cluster anions and 1D cationic chains of {Ni(bipy)(H2O)4}2+.The lattice water molecules are located in the tunnels created by the above two types of building blocks which are interlinked via hydrogen bonds.In compound 3, the {Zn6(Zn)L6}4− cluster anion cages are located at the tunnels formed by the 3D cationic network of{Ni(bipy)2(H2O)2}2+.

Abstract:Four inorganic-organic hybrid materials based on poly(oxomolybdophosphate) cluster building blocks have been obtained by hydrothermal methods. 1 shows a 2-D sheet structure, 2 and 3 possess 1-D chain structures and 4 is the discrete cluster. Crystal structural analysis reveals that the dimensionality and organization of those compounds can be tuned by the pH value of the reaction system. In addition, the fluorescence emissions are analysed of compounds 1, 2 and 4 containing Cd atoms with d(10) electronic configuration red-shift along with the increase in the dimensions of those compounds.

Abstract:The Mo≡N bond is conjugated with the organic segment in the novel molecular organic-inorganic hybrid materials that have been obtained by Pd-catalyzed coupling of an iodo-functionalized hexamolybdate anion and an alkyne (see scheme; Ar=4-methylphenyl,3-5-di(tert-butyl)phenyl). The interaction between the polyoxometalate cluster and the organic conjugated system is particularly apparent from the strong red-shifted absorption in the UV/Vis spectrum.

Abstract:An organic-inorganic hybrid compound based on {PMo12} layers, [Ag(pz)(2)](6)[PMo12O40](2)center dot 3H(2)O 1 (pz = pyrazole), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, TG, IR spectroscopy, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Two crystallographically independent [PMo12O40](3-) clusters are arranged in an AB-AB mode to give two kinds of supramolecular layers. The layers are further connected in a special alternating mode by [Ag(pz)(2)](+) linkers to form complex 3-D supramolecular network. Compound 1 exhibits good electrocatalytic activity in the reduction of hydrogen peroxide and shows fluorescence in the solid state at room temperature.

Abstract:A novel supramolecular compound based on the Keggin cluster and basketlike cage (C10H10N2)12(PMoVI12O40)2(Sr⊂P6Mo3VMo15VIO73)2·9H2O (1), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TG, XPS, UV and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In compound 1, the basketlike polyanion uses its surface oxygen atoms to attract nine basket cages and five Keggin clusters via strong supramolecular interactions. Meanwhile, each of Keggin cluster is surrounded by its neighboring five basket cages in the same mode to form a 3D supramolecular framework with chambers, and 4,4′-bipy organic molecules are located in the chambers to stabilize the whole structure. The electrochemical and electrocatalysis behavior of 1-CPE have been studied in detail.

Abstract:A rare 3D porous inorganic–organic polyoxoniobate framework based on the cubic polyoxoniobate-cupric-complex cage {[Cu(en)2]@{[Cu2(en)2(trz)2]6(Nb68O188)}} (1a), has been successfully synthesized by a hydrothermal method. The cubic cages 1a are connected with 4-(tetrazol-5-yl)pyridine to form a 1D pillar-like chain structure, and every 1D pillar-like chain is further linked with four adjacent pillar-like chains by the [Cu(en)2]2+ complex to form a 3D porous inorganic–organic polyoxoniobate framework with 4-connected CdSO4-type topology. To our knowledge, it is the first time that three different types of organic ligands are simultaneously introduced into one polyoxoniobate. Abstract:Three new inorganic-organic hybrid frameworks, [Mn-2(BPTCA)(phen)(2)center dot H2O]n (1), [Mn-4(BPTCA)(2)(H2O)(10)center dot 2.5H(2)O](n) (2), and [Mn-2(BPTCA)(mu(2)-H2O)(2)](n) (3) (BPTCA(4-) = 4,4'-bipyridine-2,2',6,6'-tetracarboxylate; phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Complex 1 is a two-dimensional (2D) network constructed by infinite O-Mn-O-C-0-Mn- chains and BPTCA(4-) ligands, and an intriguing slide fastener-like three-dimensional (3D) framework structure is formed by the pi center dot center dot center dot pi interactions between the phen molecules. Complex 2 crystallized in a chiral space group P2(1) has a 2D network structure formed by Mn-4 cluster units and BPTCA(4-) linkers, while complex 3 obtained at higher temperature than 2 is a 3D porous architecture. The result implies that the hydrothermal reaction temperature has a great influence on the structure of the complexes in this system. The magnetic behaviors of the complexes have been investigated and 2 showed modest powder second harmonic generation activity.

Abstract:Four new hybrid open-framework indium phosphate-oxalates, I, Na[InPO4(C2O4)(0.5)]center dot H2O II, [C2N2H10](0.5)[InPO4(C2O4)(0.5)] III, [C3N2H12](2) [In-4(HPO4)(6)(C2O4)(2)]center dot 4H2O IV [C3N2H12](05)[In-2(PO4)(HPO4) (C2O4)]center dot H2O have been hydrothermally synthesized by using organic amines such as ethylamine, 1,3-diaminopropane and alkali metal ions such as Na+ as the structure-directing agents (SDAs). The structures of these compounds were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. I and II have the same three dimensional (3-D) framework of [InPO4(C2O4)(0.5)], which consists of InO6 ocathedra linked by inorganic phosphate and organic oxalate anions that generate intersecting 8-membered ring (8-MR) channels. III has similar structural feature with I and II, their frameworks are all built Up from layered indiumphosphate linked by oxalate units. While this linkage results in a large 12-MR channel. The structure of IV is built from double-six-rings (D6Rs) building units linked by oxalate units, which contain large circular 16-MR channels. Single crystal X-ray diffraction measurements show that the SDAs are located ill their channels of I similar to IV.

Abstract:Three new inorganic-organic hybrids constructed from a half rigid N-heterocyclic carboxylate ligand, K[Ag3(HL1)4](Mo8O26) (1), [Ag4(HL1)2(HL2)2(SiMo12O40)] (2) and (H3O)[Ag(L1)2]·2H2O (3) [HL1 = 1-(4-carboxylbenzyl)-3-(pyrazine-2-yl)pyrazole; HL2 = 3-(2-pyrazine)pyrazole], were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized. In compound 1, {K[β-Mo8O26]}n3n− chains fill in the channels of the 3D supramolecular network. In compound 2, HL1 and HL2 coordinate to Ag(I) ions into left- (L) and right-handed (R) helical chains, and (SiMo12O40)4- anions link two neighboring helical chains into a 2D layer structure. The crystal structure of compound 3 is stabilized by hydrogen bonds and π … π interactions, forming a 3D supramolecular network. The luminescent properties of the three compounds have been investigated. In addition, the electrochemical properties of compound 2 have also been investigated.
