Abstract:Metal-catalyzed enantioselective allylation, which involves the substitution of allylic metal intermediates with a diverse range of different nucleophiles or S(N)2'-type allylic substitution, leads to the formation of C-H, -C, -O, -N, -S, and other bonds with very high levels of asymmetric induction. The reaction may tolerate a broad range of functional groups and has been applied successfully to the synthesis of many natural products and new chiral compounds.

Abstract:The asymmetric rearrangement of allylic sulfilimines is an effective route to synthetic attractive targets such as allylic sulfenamides and others. The current methods are limited to chirality transfer from chiral allylic sulfilimine precursors. Herein, we report a general and fundamentally new rearrangement route accessing optically enriched allylic sulfenamides and their derivatives. The process involves a S-alkylation and an unusual S-to-N rearrangement step. The chiral nickel complex enables the transformation of a broad scope of sulfenamides and vinyl α-diazo pyrazoleamides under mild conditions. Various allylic sulfenamides have been synthesized with excellent γ-regioselectivity and enantioselectivity, which can be efficiently converted to sulfinamide and 4-aminobutenoic acid derivatives. In addition, DFT calculations demonstrate the connection between the spin state and conformation of nickel vinyl carbenoid, as well as an unknown rearrangement process.

Abstract:A general synthesis of chiral 1,3‐disubstituted allylsilanes is established through copper(I)‐catalyzed asymmetric 1,4‐conjugate silylation of α,β‐unsaturated sulfones and subsequent Julia‐Kocienski olefination. By modification of McQuade's NHC ligand, the catalytic asymmetric conjugate silylation with a broad substrate scope is achieved in high enantioselectivity. The following Julia–Kocienski olefination proceeds smoothly at room temperature to deliver an array of chiral allylsilanes in moderate yields. More interestingly, a one‐pot asymmetric synthesis with high synthetic efficiency is successfully realized. Utility of the prepared chiral 1,3‐disubsituted allylsilanes is demonstrated in the asymmetric allylation of both aldehyde and aldimine. Finally, an interesting "match and mismatch" phenomenon is observed in the asymmetric allylation of chiral aldehydes.This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
