Abstract:A copper-catalyzed N-N bond-forming reaction was performed by a dehydrogenative homocoupling of N-alkylanilines, affording N, N'-dialkyl-N, N'-diphenylhydrazines in 72-88% yields. This new strategy has the advantages of direct synthesis from N-alkylanilines, using air as the oxidant, convenient manipulations, mild reaction conditions and moderate to good yields. A possible mechanism by coordination and reductive elimination has been proposed.

Abstract:The preparation of a series of 2-pyridinamines and their alkyl derivatives is described.The target compounds are synthesized starting from corresponding 2-cyanopyridines, via incomplete hydrolysis in the presence of hydrogen peroxide in the dilute alkaline mixture of acetone-2% sodium hydroxide solution, and Hoffmann degradation reaction with freshly made NaBrO.This route is of industrial value because of cheap and readily available materials, moderate reaction conditions and convenient operations.

Abstract:A HFIP-promoted highly selective hydroxyalkylation of aniline derivatives with arylglyoxal hydrates has been realized. The reaction produces various N,N-dialkylanilines and their derivatives with α-hydroxy carbonyl units in good to excellent yields under mild conditions. Furthermore, the synthetic potential of this method has been demonstrated by the facile synthesis of several structurally interesting molecules such as benzil, 1,2,4-triazine, quinoxaline, hydantoin, and 2-thiohydantoin with aromatic amine units.

Abstract:An example of homogeneous Mo-catalyzed direct N-alkylation of anilines or nitroarenes with alcohols is presented. The DFT aimed design suggested the easily accessible bis-NHC-Mo(0) complex features a strong hydride-donating ability, achieving effective N-alkylation of anilines or challenging nitroarenes with alcohols. Abstract:Iridium-catalysed regioselective C–H alkynylation of unprotected primary benzylamines and aliphatic aldehydes has been achieved using in situ-installed aldimine directing groups. This protocol provides a straightforward route for the synthesis of the alkynylated primary benzylamine and aliphatic aldehyde derivatives, featuring good substrate compatibility and high regioselectivity.
