Abstract:In this paper, A new gold self-relay catalysis enabling intramolecular annulation and intermolecular Michael addition of 3-yne-1,2-diols with aurone-derived azadienes (or para-quinone methides) is reported, efficiently furnishing a range of unsymmetrical furanized triarylmethanes with substituent diversity in good yields. The overall process was governed by the π- and σ-Lewis acid capability of gold complexes, providing a catalytic strategy for constructing triarylmethane skeletons.

Abstract:Intramolecular annulations of allenes towards furans to give six-membered ring fused furans with gold and platinum catalysts have been developed. It was found that allenes can be activated by gold catalysts and attacked by the furan rings to generate six-membered rings. When PtCl4 was used as a catalyst, the annulation also gives six-membered ring fused furans, but the carbon-carbon double bond in the products shifted to form conjugation with the furan ring with a high Z/E ratio.

Abstract:This work describes intermolecular acylfluorination of gem-difluoroenynes using acyl fluorides as both acyl source and fluorine source. Trifluoromethyl-substituted allenones or furans could be selectively achieved via phosphine and silver catalysis. These approaches exhibit high regioselectivity, atom economy and broad functionality tolerance.

Abstract:Herein, we report an efficient synthetic method for polysubstituted pentafulvenes via palladium-catalyzed deacetylative [2+2+1] annulation of enones with alkynes. Aryl-, alkenyl-, and alkyl-substituted α,β-enones were suitable substrates, affording the pentafulvene products in moderate to good yields. This protocol shows excellent compatibility with sensitive halide, free hydroxyl group and heterocycles. One-pot gram-scale synthesis and further applications in the late-stage modification of natural product demonstrate the synthetic utility of this method.
