Abstract:In this section, we will introduce a holomorphic invariant for Kähler manifolds, which was first done by Futaki for manifolds with positive first Chern class and then by Calabi and Futaki for general Kähler manifolds. We will take a slightly different approach from the original one taken.

Abstract:In this paper, we give a new version of the modified Futaki invariant for a test configuration associated to the soliton action on a Fano manifold. Our version will naturally come from toric test configurations defined by Donaldson for toric manifolds. As an application, we show that the modified K-energy is proper for toric invariant Kähler potentials on a toric Fano manifold.

Abstract:We prove several formulas related to Hodge theory and the Kodaira–Spencer–Kuranishi deformation theory of Kähler manifolds. Abstract:The authors consider ±(Φ, J)-holomorphic maps from Sasakian manifolds into Kähler manifolds, which can be seen as counterparts of holomorphic maps in Kähler geometry. It is proved that those maps must be harmonic and basic. Then a Schwarz lemma for those maps is obtained. On the other hand, an invariant in its basic homotopic class is obtained. Moreover, the invariant is just held in the class of basic maps.

Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, a new holomorphic invariant is defined on a compact Kähler manifold with positive first Chern class and nontrivial holomorphic vector fields. This invariant generalizes the Futaki invariant. We prove that this invariant is an obstruction to the existence of Kähler-Ricci solitons. In particular, using this invariant together with the main result in [TZ1], we solve completely the uniqueness problem of Kähler-Ricci solitons. Two functionals associated to the new holomorphic invariant are also discussed. The main result here was announced in [TZ2].

Abstract:In this expository article we will summarize recent results on stability and Kähler manifolds of constant scalar curvature. We will see among other things that there is a family of integral invariants which includes obstructions to the existence of Kähler metrics of harmonic Chern forms and obstructions to asymptotic Chow semistability.
On the Futaki invariant of Fano threefolds

Abstract:We study the zero locus of the Futaki invariant on K-polystable Fano threefolds, seen as a map from the Kähler cone to the dual of the Lie algebra of the reduced automorphism group. We show that, apart from families 3.9, 3.13, 3.19, 3.20, 4.2, 4.4, 4.7 and 5.3 of the Iskovskikh-Mori-Mukai classification of Fano threefolds, the Futaki invariant of such manifolds vanishes identically on their Kähler cone. In all cases, when the Picard rank is greater or equal to two, we exhibit explicit 2-dimensional differentiable families of Kähler classes containing the anti-canonical class and on which the Futaki invariant is identically zero. As a corollary, we deduce the existence of non Kähler-Einstein cscK metrics on all such Fano threefolds.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a complex projective variety with only canonical singularities and with trivial canonical bundle. Let $L$ be an ample line bundle on $X$. Assume that the pair $(X,L)$ is the flat limit of a family of smooth polarized Calabi-Yau manifolds. Assume that for each singular point $x \in X$ there exist a Kahler-Einstein Fano manifold $Z$ and a positive integer $q$ dividing $K_Z$ such that $-\frac{1}{q}K_Z$ is very ample and such that the germ $(X,x)$ is locally analytically isomorphic to a neighborhood of the vertex of the blow-down of the zero section of $\frac{1}{q}K_{Z}$. We prove that up to biholomorphism, the unique weak Ricci-flat Kahler metric representing $2\pi c_1(L)$ on $X$ is asymptotic at a polynomial rate near $x$ to the natural Ricci-flat Kahler cone metric on $\frac{1}{q}K_Z$ constructed using the Calabi ansatz. In particular, our result applies if $(X, \mathcal{O}(1))$ is a nodal quintic threefold in $\mathbb{P}^4$. This provides the first known examples of compact Ricci-flat manifolds with non-orbifold isolated conical singularities.
Tautological Hilbert scheme invariants of Calabi-Yau 4-folds via virtual pullback

Abstract:Let $X$ be a Calabi-Yau 4-fold and $D$ a smooth connected divisor on it. We consider tautological bundles of $L=\mathcal{O}_X(D)$ on Hilbert schemes of points on $X$ and their counting invariants defined by integrating the Euler classes against the virtual classes. We relate these invariants to Maulik-Nekrasov-Okounkov-Pandharipande's invariants of Hilbert schemes of points on $D$ by virtual pullback technique and confirm a conjecture of Cao-Kool. The same strategy is also applied to obtain a virtual pullback formula for tautological invariants of one dimensional stable sheaves. This in turn gives a nontrivial identity on primary and descendent invariants as studied in the works of Cao, Maulik and Toda.

Abstract:Using reduced Gromov–Witten theory, we define new invariants which capture the enumerative geometry of curves on holomorphic symplectic 4-folds. The invariants are analogous to the BPS counts of Gopakumar and Vafa for Calabi–Yau 3-folds, Klemm and Pandharipande for Calabi–Yau 4-folds, and Pandharipande and Zinger for Calabi–Yau 5-folds. We conjecture that our invariants are integers and give a sheaf-theoretic interpretation in terms of reduced 4-dimensional Donaldson–Thomas invariants of one-dimensional stable sheaves. We check our conjectures for the product of two K 3 surfaces and for the cotangent bundle of . Modulo the conjectural holomorphic anomaly equation, we compute our invariants also for the Hilbert scheme of two points on a K 3 surface. This yields a conjectural formula for the number of isolated genus 2 curves of minimal degree on a very general hyperkähler 4-fold of -type. The formula may be viewed as a 4-dimensional analogue of the classical Yau–Zaslow formula concerning counts of rational curves on K 3 surfaces. In the course of our computations, we also derive a new closed formula for the Fujiki constants of the Chern classes of tangent bundles of both Hilbert schemes of points on K 3 surfaces and generalized Kummer varieties.

Abstract:We introduce a $\mathbb{C}/\mathbb{Z}$-valued invariant of a foliated manifold with a stable framing and with a partially flat vector bundle. This invariant can be expressed in terms of integration in differential $K$-theory, or alternatively, in terms of $\eta$-invariants of Dirac operators and local correction terms. Initially, the construction of the element in $\mathbb{C}/\mathbb{Z}$ involves additional choices. But if the codimension of the foliation is sufficiently small, then this element is independent of these choices and therefore an invariant of the data listed above. We show that the invariant comprises various classical invariants like Adams' $e$-invariant, the $\rho$-invariant of twisted Dirac operators, or the Godbillon-Vey invariant from foliation theory. Using methods from differential cohomology theory we construct a regulator map from the algebraic $K$-theory of smooth functions on a manifold to its connective $K$-theory with $\mathbb{C}/\mathbb{Z}$ coefficients. Our main result is a formula for the invariant in terms of this regulator and integration in algebraic and topological $K$-theory.

Abstract:In this article we study an integral invariant which obstructs the existence on a compact complex manifold of a volume form with the determinant of its Ricci form proportional to itself, in particular obstructs the existence of a Kähler-Einstein metric, and has been studied since 1980s. We study this invariant from the view point of locally conformally Kähler geometry. We first see that we can define an integral invariant for coverings of compact complex manifolds with automorphic volume forms. This situation typically occurs for locally conformally Kähler manifolds. Secondly, we see that this invariant coincides with the former one. We also show that the invariant vanishes for any compact Vaisman manifold.

Abstract:International Journal of Mathematics, Ahead of Print. Given a compact almost complex manifold [math], the almost complex invariant [math] is defined as the complex dimension of the cohomology space [math]. Its properties have been studied mainly when [math]. If we endow [math] with an almost Hermitian metric [math], then the number [math], i.e. the complex dimension of the space of Hodge–de Rham harmonic [math]-forms, does not depend on the choice of almost Kähler metrics when [math]. In this paper, we study the relationship between [math] and [math] in dimension [math]. We prove [math] if [math] is non-integrable and observe that [math] if the metric is almost Kähler. If [math] is a compact quotient of a completely solvable Lie group and [math] is a left-invariant almost Kähler structure on [math], we prove [math]. Finally, we study the [math]-pure and [math]-full properties of [math] on [math]-forms for the special dimension [math].

Abstract:We define a new family of spectral invariants associated to certain Lagrangian links in compact and connected surfaces of any genus. We show that our invariants recover the Calabi invariant of Hamiltonians in their limit. As applications, we resolve several open questions from topological surface dynamics and continuous symplectic topology: we show that the group of Hamiltonian homeomorphisms of any compact surface with (possibly empty) boundary is not simple; we extend the Calabi homomorphism to the group of Hameomorphisms constructed by Oh-Müller; and, we construct an infinite dimensional family of quasimorphisms on the group of area and orientation preserving homeomorphisms of the two-sphere. Our invariants are inspired by recent work of Polterovich and Shelukhin defining and applying spectral invariants for certain classes of links in the two-sphere.

Abstract:We find a new obstruction to the existence of solutions of the Hull-Strominger system, which goes beyond the balanced property of the Calabi-Yau manifold $(X,\Omega)$ and the Mumford-Takemoto slope stability of the bundle over it. The basic principle is the construction of a (possibly indefinite) Hermitian-Einstein metric on the holomorphic string algebroid associated to a solution of the system, provided that the connection $\nabla$ on the tangent bundle is Hermitian-Yang Mills. Using this, we define a family of Futaki invariants obstructing the existence of solutions in a given balanced class. Our results are motivated by a strong version of a conjecture by Yau on the existence problem for these equations.

Abstract:This is an expository paper. We will discuss various formulations of Futaki invariant and its relation to the CM line bundle. We will discuss their connections to the K-energy. We will also include proof for certain known results which may not have been well presented or less accessible in the literature. We always assume that M is a compact Kahler manifold. By a polarization, we mean a positive line bundle L over M, then we call (M, L) a polarized manifold.
