An Evidence of Multiply-Connected Topology Model of the Universe

Abstract:Recently many observational results of the spacial distri­bution of extragalactic objects challenge the standard view of cosmological model. For example, it is well known that there are two main arguments which are against the cosmolo­gical origin of quasar redshift. That is, the associations of quasars with low redshift galaxies ( see: Chu, Zhu, Bur­bidge and Hewitt (1); Arp (2) ) and the redshift periodic distribution of quasars and other extragalactic objects. ( see: Fang, Chu et. al. (3), Chu and Zhu (4) ). The aim of this work is to point out that these two phenomena maybe related to each other and is not unacceptable under the scheme of cosmological redshift and cosmological principle, only if the universe is multiply connected. In a multiply-connected universe, we can see the original image of an ob­ject (low redshift galaxy) and its ghost images (high red-shift quasars) in the same direction. For many types of to­pologies, the image redshifts would show periodicity with respect to a variable which depends on redshift Z, such as:
