Abstract:In this paper, we investigate additive properties of generalized Drazin inverse of two Drazin invertible linear operators in Banach spaces. Under the commutative condition of PQ=QP, we give explicit representations of the generalized Drazin inverse (P+Q)d in term of P, Pd, Q and Qd. We consider some applications of our results to the perturbation of the Drazin inverse and analyze a number of special cases.

Abstract:Given a square matrix A and its perturbation matrix E, a new expression for the Drazin inverse B^D of B=A+E is derived if AA^DB^2=(AA^DB)^2 or B^2AA^D=(BAA^D)^2. Based on the new expression, a bound of the relative error of B^D is developed. Some known results in the literature on the Drazin inverse and the perturbation bound are included by this new formula as special cases. A numerical example is given to compare the upper bounds.

Abstract:Let a,b be two commutative generalized Drazin invertible elements in a Banach algebra; the expressions for the generalized Drazin inverse of the product ab and the sum a + b were studied in some current literature on this subject. In this paper, we generalize these results under the weaker conditions a(2)b = aba and b(2)a = bab. As an application of our results, we obtain some new representations for the generalized Drazin inverse of a block matrix with the generalized Schur complement being generalized Drazin invertible in a Banach algebra, extending some recent works.

Abstract:In this paper, some additive properties of the pseudo Drazin inverse are obtained in a Banach algebra. In addition, we find some new conditions under which the pseudo Drazin inverse of the sum a + b can be explicitly expressed in terms of a, az, b, bz. In particular, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence as well as the expression for the pseudo Drazin inverse of the sum a+b are obtained under certain conditions. Also, a result of Wang and Chen [Pseudo Drazin inverses in associative rings and Banach algebras, LAA 437(2012) 1332-1345] is extended.

Abstract:We present necessary and sufficient conditions under which the anti-triangular matrix $\left( \begin{array}{cc} a&b 1&0 \end{array} \right)$ over a Banach algebra has g-Drazin inverse. New additive results for g-Drazin inverse are obtained.
