Abstract:Let X be Banach space and let T, T =T + delta T be bounded linear operators on X. Suppose that T has the Drazin inverse T-D and Ind(T) = n. In this paper, we show that if ||delta T|| is sufficiently small and Ran((T) over bar (n)) boolean AND Ker (( T-D)(n)) = {0}, (T) over bar is Drazin invertible with Ind((T) over bar) <= n.In this case, the expression of (T) over bar (D) is given and the upper bounds of ||(T) over bar (D)|| and||(T) over bar (D) - T-D/||T-D||are established. If dim X < infinity, replacing Ran((T) over bar)(n) boolean AND Ker ((T-D)(n)) = {0}by rank((T) over bar (n)), we obtain the same perturbation results of the Drazin invertible matrix T as in the case of dim X = infinity.

This theory subsumes results recently obtained by Wei and Wang, Rakocevic and Wei, and Castro and Koliha. Abstract:A constructive perturbation bound of the Drazin inverse of a square matrix is derived using a technique proposed by G. Stewart and based on perturbation theory for invariant subspaces. This is an improvement of the result published by the authors Wei and Li [Numer. Linear Algebra Appl., 10 (2003), pp. 563--575]. It is a totally new approach to developing perturbation bounds for the Drazin inverse of a matrix. A numerical example which indicates the sharpness of the perturbation bound is presented.

Abstract:The Drazin inverse of a square matrix occurs in a number of applications. It is of importance to analyse the perturbation bounds for the Drazin inverse of a matrix. Let B = A + E . Under the assumption of rank( B j ) =rank( A k ), where j and k are the indices of B and A , respectively, upper bounds of ∥ B D ‐ A D ∥/∥ A D ∥ and ∥ BB D ‐ AA D ∥/∥ AA D ∥ have been recently studied. However, these upper bounds do not cover the perturbation bounds of the group inverse recently given by the authors as a special case. Moreover, these perturbation bounds for the Drazin inverse are too large to be practical. In this paper, we present sharper unified perturbation bounds for the Drazin inverse, which are the extensions of the recent result in the case of group inverse. It solves the problem posed by Campbell and Meyer in 1975. A numerical example is given to illustrate the sharpness of the new general bounds. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Abstract:Let P and Q be bounded linear operators on a Banach space. The existence of the Drazin inverse of P+Q is proved under some assumptions, and the representations of (P+Q)D are also given. The results recover the cases P2Q = 0,QPQ = 0 studied by Yang and Liu in [19] for matrices, Q2P = 0; PQP = 0 studied by Cvetkovic and Milovanovic in [7] for operators and P2Q + QPQ = 0, P3Q = 0 studied by Shakoor, Yang and Ali in [16] for matrices. As an application, we give representations for the Drazin inverse of the operator matrix A = (ACBD).

Abstract:In this study, we derive the Drazin inverse (A+εB)D{\left(A+\varepsilon B)}^{D} of the complex matrix A+εBA+\varepsilon B with Ind(A+εB)>1{\rm{Ind}}\left(A+\varepsilon B)\gt 1 and Ind(A)=k{\rm{Ind}}\left(A)=k and the group inverse (A+εB)#{\left(A+\varepsilon B)}^{\#} of the complex matrix A+εBA+\varepsilon B with Ind(A+εB)=1{\rm{Ind}}\left(A+\varepsilon B)=1 and Ind(A)=k{\rm{Ind}}\left(A)=k when εB\varepsilon B is viewed as the perturbation of AA. If the dual Drazin inverse (DDGI) A^DDGI{\widehat{A}}^{{\rm{DDGI}}} of A^\widehat{A} is considered as a notation. Abstract:Let $X, Y$ be Banach spaces and $T : X \to Y$ be a bounded linear operator. In this paper, we initiate the study of the perturbation problems for bounded homogeneous generalized inverse $T^h$ and quasi--linear projector generalized inverse $T^H$ of $T$. Some applications to the representations and perturbations of the Moore--Penrose metric generalized inverse $T^M$ of $T$ are also given. The obtained results in this paper extend some well--known results for linear operator generalized inverses in this field.

Abstract:The famous Drazin inverse and generalized Drazin inverse were introduced by Drazin in 1958 and Koliha in 1996, respectively. In the present paper, the author introduces the concepts of left and right (generalized) Drazin inverses, which are the one-sided versions of classical (generalized) Drazin inverses, in Banach algebras. Several characterizations of one-sided (generalized) Drazin invertible operators on Banach spaces are given. By utilizing the one-sided Drazin invertible spectra, the characterizations of B-Fredholm spectra for Banach space operators are obtained. These perturbational results can be regarded as generalizations of classical Fredholm theory in Banach spaces.
