Abstract:Objective: To study the value of PSS in evaluating poisoning degree and predicting prognosis. Method: PSS and APACHE - II were applied to evaluate the 61 patients with acute poisoning. The evaluating results were analyzed by consistency - checking method (Kendall), Kruskal Wallis Test, Correlation coefficient (Spearman), and Fisher's exact probabilities. Results: Scoring results were consistent between PSS and APACHE - II (P < 0.01). There was no correlation between PSS scoring value, APACHE - II scoring value and poisoning categories (P > 0.05). There existed correlation between PSS scoring value, APACHE - II scoring value and hospitalization duration (P < 0.01). There existed obvious correlation between PSS scoring value, APACHE - II scoring value and incidence of complications (P < 0.05). Conclusions: PSS had the same function as APACHE - II in evaluating poisoning degree and predicting prognosis.
