Abstract:The design of the imprinting machine for polymeric microfluidic chip was introduced.The imprinting machine can be heated and cooled by TEC,pressed by hydraulic pressure in a vacuum maintained by a pump.Realtime control between PC and PLC is realized through serial communication by freeport mode,and the control of temperature and pressure is realized by PLC.It is showed that the experimental results agree with the high quality and precision of the polymeric microfluidic chips made by this machine.

The research background, hardware structure, system features, control configuration, man-machine interface and system functions are introduced. Abstract:In order to measure the dynamic cutting temperature in high speed machining, a new method to prepare multi-layer thin film thermocouple sensor on a ceramic tool was presented. the sensor was fabricated on the ceramic tool’s rake face with the technology of magnetron sputtering, lithography, and plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) methods. The preparation process of the multi-player thin films was expatiated. The high speed cutting temperature and cutting force data acquisition and measuring system was designed. The type of data acquisition card is ADlink PCI-9118HG. Simple and friendly human-machine interface was programmed with the application of VC++ technology and Tchart controllor to achieve real-time data acquisition, display and analysis of high-speed cutting temperature and cutting force. It was concluded from the experiment that the data acquisition and measuring system is easy and flexible to use.

Abstract:The invention provides a novel fused magnesia smelting electric arc furnace, which comprises a high-voltage cabinet, a transformer, a low-voltage cabinet, a programmable logic controller (PLC) operating platform, a short net, a water-cooled cable, an electrode lifting device and a graphite electrode, wherein the graphite electrode is placed in a smelting furnace positioned below the operating platform; the smelting furnace comprises a furnace barrel, a furnace body and a furnace cover; the bottom of the furnace barrel is placed on the horizontal base ground, and the top of the furnace barrel is connected with the operating platform; the furnace body is placed on a trolley and positioned in the middle of the furnace barrel; the trolley is placed on a rotary platform positioned below the horizontal base ground; the furnace cover is placed on the operating platform and covers the upper opening of the furnace body; the top of the furnace cover is provided with an automatic feeding hole connected with an automatic feeding device arranged on the operating platform and an electrode hole corresponding to the graphite electrode; and the PLC operating platform controls lifting of the graphite electrode and intermittent rotation of the rotary platform. Through the electric arc furnace, the problem of furnace charge sintering accumulation in the smelting process is effectively solved, the core part of a finished product forms a cylinder shape, the yield is increased by over 15 percent, and the power is saved by over 20 percent.

Abstract:By analyzing the controlling system function of electron beam selective melting, the PMAC motion controller is selected as a slave computer of the controlling system, which can not only control the four serve motion and several limit signals, but also can save and download the scanning data. Furthermore, the scanning data can be calculated and self-executed by the PMAC motion controller. Two years running effects showed that this controlling system has very high reliability.

The operation principle and process are briefly described, and there is several stronger merits over the steel retorts used in horizontal Pidgeon process.

Abstract:The demand for aluminum products is expected to continually increase. Die casting is an important technology for processing aluminum products. It is energy-intensive and its melting and holding sub-processes consume large amounts of energy, but in low energy efficiency. Therefore, improving their energy efficiency can significantly reduce energy costs and environmental impact. Based on an in-depth field survey of die casting factories, two obstacles hindering the melting and holding energy efficiency improvement were identified: 1) the determination of optimal furnace operation parameters in the production planning stage, and 2) the timely adjustment of furnace operation parameters when an incident occurs in the production stage. An Internet of Things-enabled model-based approach, including a parameter optimization model and energy-aware incident control strategy, was proposed to address these two issues. The proposed approach was validated in a die casting factory. Optimizing the furnace melting rate and maximum holding height saved 5%–9% cost, product stock was reduced by approximately 3.6% with the online adjustment of the furnace melt-stoppage time, and holding energy consumption was reduced by approximately 2% with the online control of the furnace standby mode. It was revealed that the practical value of the proposed approach was significant for industrial applications.

Abstract:With the blowout demand of high-end military metallurgical materials, the implementation of the national "double carbon" strategy, the industrial upgrading of the domestic traditional metallurgical industry, vacuum induction smelting equipment has been favored which tends to be larger and larger.The process of "one furnace for multiple purposes, one machine for multiple heats" is quite popular in China, especially the large tonnage vacuum induction melting furnace, which is used to improve equipment utilization or reduce production and operation costs. The overall design of large-scale vacuum induction melting equipment and its related technology in special metallurgy field have been described in detail, while the development trend of large-scale vacuum induction melting equipment technology has been analyzed.

Abstract:A hardware and software system for a high temperature oxidation diffusion furnace based on the technical demand was introduced.The hardware system was composed by a multi-channel switch,an industrial computer,a temperature transmitter,and I/O cards.Based on this hardware system the algorithm of the PID tuning was improved,and the trajectory planning algorithm was introduced.Finally,this system functions were fulfilled of the control,ramp,PID auto-tuning and automatic temperature distribution.The experiments show that this system achieves the technical requirement for oxidation diffusion and the system augment ability,stability and precision are improved.This system is already applied in high temperature oxidation diffusion furnace.

Abstract:<span class="a-plus-plus abstract-section id-a-sec1"><p class="a-plus-plus">One of the promising technology that guarantee the high-purity of the processed metal is induction skull melting. The quality of the melting process within such a system strongly depends on the cold crucible design. Hence, the experimental investigation of the cold crucible melting was performed. The experimental investigation was performed for various initial mass of the load. The results of that analysis were used for the assessment of the alloy temperature during the process, free surface shape and the area as well as the liquid metal emissivity. The collected results of the thermal analysis showed that the temperature of molten metal increased within the power input increase. Moreover, results of that analysis showed that the characteristic tooth-shaped jags were created mostly at the centre of the cold crucible segments. In addition, experimental results are suitable for the numerical models validation and further investigation of the cold crucible design.</p></span><span class="a-plus-plus abstract-section id-a-sec2 outputmedium-online"><h3 class="a-plus-plus">Graphic </h3></span>

Abstract:ElectroSlag Remelt(ESR) furnace is the key equipment for the electroslag remelting process.A Consarc coaxial ElectroSlag Remelt(ESR) furnace is imported in 1990s,and has its drawbacks.The paper presents a new control system for the furnace,after a detailed analysis of its control system.Having used the new system controlling the Consarc ESR furnace with 15t weight in a plant of Xingtai metallurgical roller Group for more then 6 months,it shows that the new control system works steadily and achieves good performance,some features are even better then the old one.

Abstract:Arc melting is one of the commonly-used melting methods in modern material manufacturing. The present study established a numerical model coupling the electric arc plasma, solid melting, and liquid flow together to simulate the steel ingot melting process using the electric arc. The direct current electric arc behavioral characteristics with varying arc length generated by the moving electrode were analyzed based on the validated model. The effects of both the initial arc length and the dynamic electrode movement on the steel ingot melting efficiency were studied. A potential method was also proposed to apply the established model in simulating the electric arc furnace scrap melting. The study reveals that a reasonable and stable arc length can provide higher instantaneous heat flux and current density and reduce the arc dissipation, meanwhile balance the electrode consumption rate and melting efficiency to achieve the highest economic benefit. In addition, the dynamic electrode movement during the melting process maintains the original arc performance near the ingot top surface, which also results in a positive impact on the melting efficiency.
