Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity of convex solutions to the Dirichlet problem of the homogeneous Monge-Ampere equation det D(2)u = 0. We prove that if the domain is a strip region and the boundary functions are locally uniformly convex and C-k+2,C-alpha smooth, then the solution is C-k+2,C-alpha smooth up to boundary. By an example, we show the solution may fail to be C-2 smooth if boundary functions are not locally uniformly convex. Similar results have also been obtained for the Dirichlet problem on bounded convex domains.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the partial regularity of the solutions for the three-dimensional Boussinesq equations. We first prove a criterion of local Hölder continuous of the suitable weak solutions of the Boussinesq equations, and show that one-dimensional Hausdorff measure of the singular point set is zero. Secondly, we present a local uniform gradient estimate on the suitable weak solutions and assert that the local behavior of the solution can be dominated by some scaled quantities, such as the scaled local L3-norm of the velocity. Besides, when the initial data v0 and θ0 decay sufficiently rapidly at ∞, the distribution of the regular point set of the suitable weak solutions is also considered. Based on it, one can find that MHD equations are more similar to Navier–Stokes equations than Boussinesq equations. Finally, we give a local regularity criterion of the suitable weak solutions near the boundary.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the following singular Monge–Ampère equation(0.1){det⁡D2u=1(Hu)n+k+2u⁎kinΩ⊂⊂Rn,u=0,on∂Ω where k≥0, H<0 are constants and u⁎=x⋅∇u(x)−u(x) is the Legendre transformation of u. Equation (0.1) is related to proper affine hyperspheres. We will show the existence of solutions of (0.1) u∈C∞(Ω)∩C(Ω¯) via regularization method. Using the technique in [10], [12], we also obtain the optimal graph regularity of the solution of (0.1).

Abstract:In this article, we prove the global well-posedness in the critical Sobolev space $H_{rad}^2\left(\mathbb{R}^2\right) \times H_{rad}^1 \left(\mathbb{R}^2\right)$ for the radial time-like extremal hypersurface equation in $\left(1+3\right)$- dimensional Minkowski space-time. This is achieved by deriving a new div-curl type lemma and combined it with energy and ``momentum" balance law to get some space-time estimates of the nonlinearity.

Abstract:We prove the existence of infinitely many entire convex solutions to the Monge-Amp\`ere equation ${\rm det} D^2 u=f$ in ${\Bbb R}^n$, assuming that the inhomogeneous term $f\ge 0$ and is of polynomial growth at infinity. When $f$ satisfies the doubling condition, we show that solution is of polynomial growth. As an application, we resolve the existence of translating solutions to a class of Gauss curvature flow.

Some applications to the regularity of solutions for eigenvalue problem for Monge–Ampere equations is discussed and in two dimensions an affirmative answer to a related problem raised by Trudinger is given.

Abstract:By means of the classical symmetry method, a hyperbolic Monge-Ampère equation is investigated. The symmetry group is studied and its corresponding group invariant solutions are constructed. Based on the associated vector of the obtained symmetry, the authors construct the group-invariant optimal system of the hyperbolic Monge-Ampère equation, from which two interesting classes of solutions to the hyperbolic Monge-Ampère equation are obtained successfully.

Abstract:We prove the existence of C ∞ local solutions to a class of mixed type Monge–Ampère equations in the plane. More precisely, the equation changes type to finite order across two smooth curves intersecting transversely at a point. Existence of C ∞ global solutions to a corresponding class of linear mixed type equations is also established. These results are motivated by and may be applied to the problem of prescribed Gaussian curvature for graphs, the isometric embedding problem for 2-dimensional Riemannian manifolds into Euclidean 3-space, and also transonic fluid flow.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the following anisotropic quasi-geostrophic equations \begin{equation}\tag*{$(AQG)_{\alpha,\beta}$} \partial_t\theta+ u_\theta.\nabla\theta +\mu|\partial_1|^{2\alpha}\theta+\nu |\partial_2|^{2\beta}\theta=0,\quad u_\theta=\mathcal{R}^{\perp}\theta, \end{equation} where $\min\{\alpha,\beta\}=\frac{1}{2}$ et $\max\{\alpha,\beta\}\in \left(\frac{1}{2},1\right)$. This equation is a particular case of the equation introduced by Ye (2019) in \cite{YZ}. In this paper, we prove that for any initial data $\theta^0$ in the Sobolev space $H^{s}(\mathbb{R}^2)$, $s >1$, the equation $(AQG)_{\alpha,\beta}$ has a global solution $\theta$ in $C_b(\mathbb{R}^+,H^s(\mathbb{R}^2)).$
