Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity of convex solutions to the Dirichlet problem of the homogeneous Monge-Ampere equation det D(2)u = 0. We prove that if the domain is a strip region and the boundary functions are locally uniformly convex and C-k+2,C-alpha smooth, then the solution is C-k+2,C-alpha smooth up to boundary. By an example, we show the solution may fail to be C-2 smooth if boundary functions are not locally uniformly convex. Similar results have also been obtained for the Dirichlet problem on bounded convex domains.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the partial regularity of the solutions for the three-dimensional Boussinesq equations. We first prove a criterion of local Hölder continuous of the suitable weak solutions of the Boussinesq equations, and show that one-dimensional Hausdorff measure of the singular point set is zero. Secondly, we present a local uniform gradient estimate on the suitable weak solutions and assert that the local behavior of the solution can be dominated by some scaled quantities, such as the scaled local L3-norm of the velocity. Besides, when the initial data v0 and θ0 decay sufficiently rapidly at ∞, the distribution of the regular point set of the suitable weak solutions is also considered. Based on it, one can find that MHD equations are more similar to Navier–Stokes equations than Boussinesq equations. Finally, we give a local regularity criterion of the suitable weak solutions near the boundary.
$C^{1,\frac{1}{3}-}$ very weak solutions to the two dimensional Monge-Ampére equation

Abstract:For any $\theta<\frac{1}{3}$, we show that very weak solutions to the two-dimensional Monge-Ampère equation with regularity $C^{1,\theta}$ are dense in the space of continuous functions. This result is shown by a convex integration scheme involving a subtle decomposition of the defect at each stage. The decomposition diagonalizes the defect and, in addition, incorporates some of the leading-order error terms of the first perturbation, effectively reducing the required amount of perturbations to one.

Interior Hölder regularity of the linearized Monge-Ampère equation

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the interior Hölder regularity of solutions to the linearized Monge-Ampère equation. In particular, we focus on the cases with singular right-hand side, which arise from the study of the semigeostrophic equation and singular Abreu equations. In the two-dimensional case, we give a new proof of the Caffarelli-Gutiérrez Hölder estimate (\textit{Amer. J. Math.} \textbf{119} (1997), no.\,2, 423-465) and the result of Le (\textit{Comm. Math. Phys.} \textbf{360} (2018), no.\,1, 271-305) for the linearized Monge-Ampère equation with singular right-hand side term in divergence form. The main new ingredient in the proof contains the application of the partial Legendre transform to the linearized Monge-Ampère equation. Building on this idea, we also establish a new Moser-Trudinger type inequality in dimension two. In higher dimensions, we derive the interior Hölder estimate under certain integrability assumptions on the coefficients using De Giorgi's iteration.

Abstract:In this paper, we describe several stationary conditions on weak solutions to the inhomogeneous Landau-Lifshitz equation, which ensure the partial regularity. For certain class of proper stationary weak solutions, a compactness result of the solutions, a finite Hausdorff measure result of the t -slice energy concentration sets and an asymptotic limit result of the Radon measures are proved. We also present a subtle rectifiability result for the energy concentration set of certain sequence of strong stationary weak solutions.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Neumann problem of Monge-Ampère equations in Semi-space. For two dimensional case, we prove that its viscosity convex solutions must be a quadratic polynomial. When the space dimension n ≥ 3, we show that the conclusion still holds if either the boundary value is zero or the viscosity convex solutions restricted on some n − 2 dimensional subspace is bounded from above by a quadratic function. In this article we employ new ideas to establish two main results for the Monge-Ampere equation defined either globally in R-2 or outside a convex set. First, we prove the existence of a global solution that satisfies a prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity, if f is asymptotically close to a positive constant. Then we solve the exterior Dirichlet problem if data are given on the boundary of a convex set and at infinity.

This boundary value problem arises naturally in optimal transportation and many other applications.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove second derivative estimates together with classical solvability for the Dirichlet problem of certain Monge-Ampére type equations under sharp hypotheses. In particular we assume that the matrix function in the augmented Hessian is regular in the sense used by Trudinger and Wang in Ann. Scoula Norm. Sup. Pisa Cl. Sci. VIII, 143–174 2009 in their study of global regularity in optimal transportation as well as the existence of a smooth subsolution. The latter hypothesis replaces a barrier condition also used in their work. The applications to optimal transportation and prescribed Jacobian equations are also indicated.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the following singular Monge–Ampère equation(0.1){det⁡D2u=1(Hu)n+k+2u⁎kinΩ⊂⊂Rn,u=0,on∂Ω where k≥0, H<0 are constants and u⁎=x⋅∇u(x)−u(x) is the Legendre transformation of u. Equation (0.1) is related to proper affine hyperspheres. We will show the existence of solutions of (0.1) u∈C∞(Ω)∩C(Ω¯) via regularization method. Using the technique in [10], [12], we also obtain the optimal graph regularity of the solution of (0.1).

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the higher order Hénon equations with Navier boundary condition on a half space R+n: (0.1)(−Δ)mu(x)=|x|aup(x),u(x)≥0,x∈R+n,u=(−Δ)u=⋯=(−Δ)m−1u=0,x∈∂R+n,where u∈C2m(R+n)∩C2m−2(R+n¯), a≥0, n≥3, 1≤m<n2 and 1<p<n+2m+2an−2m. We first prove the super poly-harmonic properties and establish the equivalence between (0.1) and the corresponding integral equation. Then, we consider the equivalent integral equation of generalized form, that is, (0.2)u(x)=∫R+nG(x,y)|y|aup(y)dywhere G(x,y) denotes the Green’s function for (−Δ)m on R+n with Navier or Dirichlet boundary conditions. We establish Liouville theorem for (0.2) via “the method of scaling spheres” in integral forms developed initially in [14] (2018) by Dai and Qin. As a consequence, we obtain the Liouville theorem for (0.1). Extensions to IEs and PDEs with general nonlinearities are also included.

Abstract:In this paper, we use the Perron method to prove the existence of viscosity solutions to a class of Monge–Ampère equations on exterior domains in Rn(n≥2) with prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity. This extends the Caffarelli–Li’s result on det(D2u)=1. We also obtain the existence of entire convex viscosity solutions to the Monge–Ampère equations with prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity.

Abstract:In this paper we report the asymptotic behavior at infinity of convex viscosity solution of detD2u=1 outside a bounded domain of the upper half space. It is shown that if the solution is a quadratic polynomial plus a logarithmic function at the flat boundary, then it tends to a quadratic polynomial plus a “log” term at infinity, where the “log” term means that it can be controlled by logarithmic function. Meanwhile, more accurate asymptotic behaviors at infinity are acquired.

Abstract:We prove the existence of entire solutions of the Monge–Ampère equations with prescribed asymptotic behavior at infinity of the plane, which was left unsolved by Caffarelli–Li in 2003. The special difficulty of the problem in dimension two is due to the global logarithmic term in the asymptotic expansion of solutions at infinity. Furthermore, we give a PDE proof of the characterization of the space of solutions of the Monge–Ampère equation $$\det \nabla ^2 u=1$$ with $$k\ge 2$$ singular points, which was established by Gálvez–Martínez–Mira in 2005. We also obtain the existence of solutions in higher dimensional cases with general right hand sides.

We also give a unified treatment for the continuity estimates of the second derivatives.
