Abstract:Recently, Fulman developed some general connections between martingales and character ratios of a random representation of the symmetric group on transitions, and obtained a convergence rate in a central limit theorem. In this work we aim to establish the law of the iterated logarithm for character ratios. The technique is a well-known Skorokhod embedding theorem for martingales and strong approximation argument. Also, bounded martingale difference methods are used to obtain a large deviation for character ratios.

Abstract:We establish the exact moduli of non-differentiability of Gaussian random fields with stationary increments. As an application of the result, we prove that the uniform Holder condition for the maximum local times of Gaussian random fields with stationary increments obtained in Xiao (1997) is optimal. These results are applicable to fractional Riesz-Bessel processes and stationary Gaussian random fields in the Matern and Cauchy classes.

Abstract:The central limit theorem of martingales is the fundamental tool for studying the convergence of stochastic processes, especially stochastic integrals and differential equations. In this paper, the central limit theorem and the functional central limit theorem are obtained for martingale-like random variables under the sub-linear expectation. As applications, the Lindeberg’s central limit theorem is obtained for independent but not necessarily identically distributed random variables, and a new proof of the Lévy characterization of a GBrownian motion without using stochastic calculus is given. For proving the results, Rosenthal’s inequality and the exponential inequality for the martingale-like random variables are established.

Abstract:In this paper, the functional central limit theorem is established for martingale like random vectors under the framework sub-linear expectations introduced by Shige Peng. As applications, the Lindeberg central limit theorem for independent random vectors is established, the sufficient and necessary conditions of the central limit theorem for independent and identically distributed random vectors are found, and a Lévy’s characterization of a multi-dimensional G-Brownian motion is obtained.

Abstract:In this article, we investigate the existence of martingale suitable weak solutions to 3D stochastic Ericksen--Leslie equations driven by an external random force. Despite the inherent white noise, we prove that paths of martingale suitable weak solutions exhibit singular points of one-dimensional parabolic Hausdorff measure zero. Our approach is mainly based on two ideas: a local energy-preserving approximation which serves to establish the existence of suitable weak solutions, and a blow-up argument employed to achieve the partial regularity.

Abstract:A convergence theorem for martingales with càdlàg trajectories (right continuous with left limits everywhere) is obtained in the sense of the weak dual topology on Hilbert space, under conditions that are much weaker than those required for any of the usual Skorohod topologies. Examples are provided to show that these conditions are also very easy to check and yield useful asymptotic results, especially when the limit is a mixture of stochastic processes with discontinuities.

Variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces and their applications in Fourier Analysis

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new class of function spaces, which unify and generalize Lorentz-Karamata spaces, variable Lorentz spaces and other several classical function spaces. Based on the new spaces, we develop the theory of variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces and apply it to Fourier Analysis. To be precise, we discuss the basic properties of Lorentz-Karamata spaces with variable exponents. We introduce five variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces and characterize them via simple atoms as well as via atoms. As applications of the atomic decompositions, dual theorems and the generalized John-Nirenberg theorem for the new framework are presented. Moreover, we obtain the boundedness of $\sigma$-sublinear operator defined on variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces, which leads to martingale inequalities and the relation of the five variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces. Also, we investigate the boundedness of fractional integral operators in this new framework. Finally, we deal with the applications of variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces in Fourier analysis by using the previous results. More precisely, we show that the partial sums of the Walsh-Fourier series converge to the function in norm if $f\in L_{p(\cdot),q,b}$ with $1<p_-\le p_+<\infty$. The Fej\'{e}r summability method is also studied and it is proved that the maximal Fej\'{e}r operator is bounded from variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces to variable Lorentz-Karamata spaces. As a consequence, we get conclusions about almost everywhere and norm convergence of Fej\'{e}r means. The results obtained in this paper generalize the results for martingale Hardy-Lorentz-Karamata spaces and variable martingale Hardy-Lorentz spaces. Especially, we remove the condition that $b$ is nondecreasing in previous literature.

The Lipschitz coefficients of the generators are allowed to be unbounded. The time-discontinuous BMO martingale theory, in particular Fefferman's inequality, is used to study the existence and uniqueness of solution in S-p with p epsilon (1, infinity].

Abstract:We provide generalizations of Burkholder's inequalities involving conditioned square functions of martingales to the general context of martingales in noncommutative symmetric spaces. More precisely, we prove that Burkholder's inequalities are valid for any martingale in noncommutative space constructed from a symmetric space defined on the interval $(0,\infty)$ with Fatou property and whose Boyd indices are strictly between 1 and 2. This answers positively a question raised by Jiao and may be viewed as a conditioned version of similar inequalities for square functions of noncommutative martingales. Using duality, we also recover the previously known case where the Boyd indices are finite and are strictly larger than 2.

In particular, we show that in one dimension and in the rough case H<1/2, the Hölder exponent (in t) of the local time is 1−H, where H is the Hurst parameter of the driving fractional Brownian motion.

Without assuming the existence of a dominating probability measure, we derive the extensions of classical results on uniform integrability, optional stopping of martingales, and martingale convergence. We also give a theory of BSDEs in the context of sublinear expectations and a finite-state space, including general existence and comparison results.

Abstract:We study a backward stochastic differential equation whose terminal condition is an integrable function of a local martingale and generator has bounded growth in $z$. When the local martingale is a strict local martingale, the BSDE admits at least two different solutions. Other than a solution whose first component is of class D, there exists another solution whose first component is not of class D and strictly dominates the class D solution. Both solutions are $\mathbb{L}^p$ integrable for any $0<p<1$. These two different BSDE solutions generate different viscosity solutions to the associated quasi-linear partial differential equation. On the contrary, when a Lyapunov function exists, the local martingale is a martingale and the quasi-linear equation admits a unique viscosity solution of at most linear growth.
