Abstract:Due to its high material utilization and large-scale producibility, inkjet printing of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) has generated significant interest from the scientific community and industry. In this study, double-layer printed white OLEDs (WOLEDs) based on multicomponent illuminants were designed and fabricated for the first time. As a result, the binary WOLEDs, based on Firpic and Ir(bt)(2)(acac) as dopants, reached a maximum current efficiency (CEmax) of 17.5 cd A(-1) and a maximum luminance (L-max) of 15320 cd m(-2). The ternary WOLEDs, based on Firpic, Ir(bt)(2)(acac) or Ir(mppy)(3) and RD01 as dopants, exhibited CEmax of 7.9 versus 2.9 cd A(-1), and L-max of 9587 versus 6752 cd m(-2), respectively. As the multicomponent illuminants increased from binary to ternary, the corresponding color rendering index was enhanced from 60 to 75.
