Experimental study on centrifuge concrete filled thin-walled steel tubular components under the action of torsion

Abstract:The real-size experiment on 22 centrifuge concrete filled thin-walled steel tubes demonstrated that three phases of distinct features could be observed in the process of destruction when the tube was under torsion. Based on the theories obtained from the previous related researches and the test data, an analytical method for the elastic torsion and the plastic torsion of composite members is proposed; the module expressions for composite members are obtained with the related parameters; then an analytical method for the deformation in each phase is deduced through the mode.
