Abstract:The self-heat effect of thin-film platinum resistance is an elementary cause for system error, which may be as high as up to several decimals that is intolerable when precision measurements are required. Usually, the solution is to decrease the stimulation current and resistance. However, the sensitivity and signal-noise ratio (SNR) of the measurement will be thus weakened significantly while decreasing the stimulation current. the pulse drive currents will be used to eliminate the self-heating effect of the sensor. The feasibility of this method is theoretically analyzed. The precise thermometer applying this method will eliminate the self-heat error.
