Abstract:Let p be an odd prime and let a be a positive integer. In this paper we investigate the sum $\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}\binom{hp^a-1}{k}\binom{2k}{k}/m^k$ mod p^2, where h,m are p-adic integers with m\not=0 (mod p). For example, we show that if h\not=0 (mod p) and p^a>3 then $$ sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}\binom{hp^a-1}{k}\binom{2k}{k}(-h/2)^k =(\frac{1-2h}{p^a})(1+h((4h-2)^{p-1}/h^{p-1}-1)) (mod p^2),$$ where (-) denotes the Jacobi symbol. Here is another remarkable congruence: If p>3 then $$\sum_{k=0}^{p^a-1}\binom{p^a-1}{k}\binom{2k}{k}(-1)^k =3^{p-1}(\frac{p^a}3) (mod p^2).$$

Abstract:In this paper we deduce some new supercongruences modulo powers of a prime p > 3. Let d is an element of {0, 1, ... (p - 1)/2}. We show thatSigma((p-1)/2)(k=0) ((2k)(k))((2k)(k+d))/8(k) equivalent to 0 (mod p) if. d equivalent to p+1/2 (mod 2),andSigma((p-1)/2)(k=0) ((2k)(k))((2k)(k+d))/16(k) equivalent to (-1/p) + p(2) (-1)(d)/4 Ep-3(d + 1/2) (mod p(3)),where Ep-3(x) denotes the Euler polynomial of degree p - 3, and (-) stands for the Legendre symbol. Abstract:Let $p>3$ be a prime. We show that $$T_{p-1}=(p/3)3^{p-1} (mod p^2},$$ where the central trinomial coefficient $T_n$ is the constant term in the expansion of $(1+x+x^{-1})^n$. We also prove three congruences conjectured by Sun one of which is as follows: $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{p-1}{k}\binom{2k}{k}((-1)^k-(-3)^{-k})=(p/3)(3^{p-1}-1) (mod p^3).$$

Abstract:Binomial coefficients and central trinomial coefficients play important roles in combinatorics. Let $p>3$ be a prime. We show that $$T_{p-1}\equiv\left(\frac p3\right)3^{p-1}\ \pmod{p^2},$$ where the central trinomial coefficient $T_n$ is the constant term in the expansion of $(1+x+x^{-1})^n$. We also prove three congruences modulo $p^3$ conjectured by Sun, one of which is $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{p-1}k\binom{2k}k((-1)^k-(-3)^{-k})\equiv \left(\frac p3\right)(3^{p-1}-1)\ \pmod{p^3}.$$ In addition, we get some new combinatorial identities.

Abstract:Let k be a positive integer and p be a prime.We give some congruences involving the binomial coefficients((k+1)p-a)p-a),(kp-1p-a) with 1 ≤ a ≤ p-1 and （kp+p-1/2b±p-1/2±b),(kp-1p-1/2±b) with 0 ≤ b ≤ p-1/2.In particular,we get a generalization of Morley's congruence.Meanwhile,some congruences about the summation of ((k+1)p-ap-a) are obtained.

Abstract:Let $p$ be an odd prime and let $d\in\{2,3,7\}$. When $(\frac{-d}p)=1$ we can write $p=x^2+dy^2$ with $x,y\in\mathbb Z$; in this paper we aim at determining $x$ or $y$ modulo $p^2$. For example, when $p=x^2+3y^2$, we show that if $p\equiv x\equiv 1\pmod 4$ then $$\sum_{k=0}^{(p-1)/2}(3[3\mid k]-1)(2k+1)\frac{\binom{2k}k^2}{(-16)^k}\equiv\left(\frac2p\right)2x\pmod{p^2}$$ where $[3\mid k]$ takes $1$ or $0$ according as $3\mid k$ or not, and that if $-p\equiv y\equiv 1\pmod4$ then $$\sum_{k=0}^{(p-1)/2}\left(\frac k3\right)\frac{k\binom{2k}k^2}{(-16)^k} \equiv(-1)^{(p+1)/4}y\equiv\sum_{k=0}^{(p-1)/2}(1-3[3\mid k])\frac{k\binom{2k}k^2}{(-16)^k}\pmod{p^2}.$$ We also determine $$\sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\frac{k\binom{2k}k^3}{m^k}\sum_{k\le j<2k}\frac1j\quad \mbox{mod} p$$ for $m=1,-8,16,-64,256,-512,4096$.

Abstract:Let p be an odd prime. In this paper, analogs of Wilson?s and Wolstenholme?s theorems on the solution sets S+ = {n ? Z* p | n ? a + b ? ab (mod p)} and S? = {n ? Z* p | n ? a ? b ? ab (mod p)} are given, where Z* p denote a reduced residue system modulo p. We also establish congruences about sum and product of the quadratic residues in S+ or in S? modulo p. Finally, we raise a problem on how to solve Hadamard?s conjecture in the last section.

Abstract:It is known that∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)4k=π2and∑k=0∞(2kk)(2k+1)16k=π3. In this paper we obtain their p-adic analogues such as∑p/23 is a prime and E0,E1,E2,… are Euler numbers. Besides these, we also deduce some other congruences related to central binomial coefficients. In addition, we pose some conjectures one of which states that for any odd prime p we have∑k=0p−1(2kk)3≡{4x2−2p(modp2)if(p7)=1&p=x2+7y2(x,y∈Z),0(modp2)if(p7)=−1,i.e.,p≡3,5,6(mod7).

Abstract:In this paper we initiate the study of products and sums divisible by central binomial coefficients. We show that 2(2n+1)binom(2n,n)| binom(6n,3n)binom(3n,n) for every n=1,2,3,... Also, for any nonnegative integers $k$ and $n$ we have $$\binom {2k}k | \binom{4n+2k+2}{2n+k+1}\binom{2n+k+1}{2k}\binom{2n-k+1}n$$ and $$\binom{2k}k | (2n+1)\binom{2n}nC_{n+k}\binom{n+k+1}{2k},$$ where $C_m$ denotes the Catalan number $\binom{2m}m/(m+1)=\binom{2m}m-\binom{2m}{m+1}$. Applying this result we obtain two sums divisible by central binomial coefficients.

Abstract:Let k > 1 be an integer and let p be a prime. We show that if p(a) <= k < 2p(a) or k = p(a)q + 1 (with q < p/2) for some a = 1,2,3, ... , then the set {(n k) : n = 0,1,2, ...} is dense in the ring Z(p) of p-adic integers; i.e., it contains a complete system of residues modulo any power of p.

Abstract:Let $p$ be an odd prime and let $x$ be a $p$-adic integer. In this paper, we establish supercongruences for $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{x}{k}\binom{x+k}{k}(-4)^k}{(dk+1)\binom{2k}{k}}\pmod{p^2} $$ and $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\frac{\binom{x}{k}\binom{x+k}{k}(-2)^k}{(dk+1)\binom{2k}{k}}\pmod{p^2}, $$ where $d\in\{0,1,2\}$. As consequences, we extend some known results. For example, for $p>3$ we show $$ \sum_{k=0}^{p-1}\binom{3k}{k}\left(\frac{4}{27}\right)^k\equiv\frac19+\frac89p+\frac{4}{27}pE_{p-2}\left(\frac13\right)\pmod{p^2}, $$ where $E_n(x)$ denotes the Euler polynomial of degree $n$. This generalizes a known congruence of Z.-W. Sun.

Abstract:Let p be an odd prime and let a,m ∈ ℤ with a > 0 and p ∤ m . In this paper we determine Σ k =0 pa −1 ( 2 k k+d )/ m k mod p 2 for d 0, 1; for example, ∑_k = 0^p^a - 1( [ 2k; k; ])/m^k ≡( m^2 - 4m/p^a ) + ( m^2 - 4m/p^a - 1)u_p - (m^2 - 4m/p) ( p^2 ), where (−) is the Jacobi symbol and u n n ⩾0 is the Lucas sequence given by u 0 = 0, u 1 = 1 and u n +1 = ( m −2) u n − u n − 1 ( n = 1, 2, 3, ...). As an application, we determine ∑_0 < k < p^a ,k ≡ r( p - 1)C_k modulo p 2 for any integer r , where C k denotes the Catalan number ( k 2 k /( k +1). We also pose some related conjectures.
