Abstract:With an effective quark–quark interaction in the global color symmetry model, the tensor susceptibility of QCD vacuum is calculated. The values we obtained are much smaller than the estimations from QCD sum rules and from chiral constituent quark model.

Abstract:We develop a kind of quantum formalism (Hilbert space probabilistic calculus) for measurements performed over cognitive (in particular, conscious) systems. By using this formalism we could predict averages of cognitive observables. Reflecting the basic idea of neurophisiological and psychological studies on a hierarchic structure of cognitive processes, we use p-adic hierarchic trees as a mathematical model of a mental space. We also briefly discuss the general problem of the choice of adequate mental geometry.

Abstract:By differentiating the dressed quark propagator with respect to a constant external tensor field, the linear response of the nonperturbative dressed quark propagator in the presence of the constant external tensor field can be obtained. From this we extract a general expression for the vacuum susceptibility which is needed in the QCD sum rule external field method for the coupling of tensor current to hadrons and compare it with the previous approaches. The numerical value of the tensor vacuum susceptibility are calculated within the framework of the rainbow-ladder approximation of the Dyson–Schwinger approach.

Abstract:Based on the quark propagator in the instanton dilute liquid approximation, we have determined the nonlocal four-quark condensate at the mean-field level in the framework of global color symmetry model. By making use of this formula, the vacuum susceptibility (pionsusceptibility) was calculated in this paper. The theoretical analysis and numerical calculation show that even at the mean-field level the naive vacuum saturation approximation is not a good approximation when we consider nonlocal four-quark condensate.

Abstract:Based on QCD sum rule three-point and two-point external field formulas respectively, the vector vacuum susceptibilities are calculated at the mean-field level in the framework of the global color symmetry model. It is shown that the above two approaches of determination of the vector vacuum susceptibility may lead to different results. The reason of this contradiction is discussed.

Abstract:QCD vacuum condensates and vacuum susceptibilities are important parameters characterizing the nonperturbative properties of the QCD vacuum.In the QCD sum rule external field method,various QCD vacuum susceptibilities play an important role in determining the properties of hadrons.In this paper we review the recent progress in the study of QCD vacuum susceptibilities,and discuss in detail the results on tensor,vector,axial-vector and scalar vacuum susceptibilities in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations.

Abstract:Using a recently developed three-point formalism within the method of QCD Sum Rules we determine the vacuum susceptibilities needed in the two-point formalism for the coupling of axial, vector, tensor and pseudoscalar currents to hadrons. All susceptibilities are determined by the space-time scale of condensates, which is estimated from data for deep inelastic scattering on nucleons.

Abstract:In this paper, we extend the calculation of tensor vacuum susceptibility in the rainbow-ladder approximation of the Dyson–Schwinger (DS) approach in Shi et al. (Phys Lett B 639:248, 2006) to that of employing the Ball–Chiu (BC) vertex. The dressing effect of the quark-gluon vertex on the tensor vacuum susceptibility is investigated. Our results show that compared with its rainbow-ladder approximation value, the tensor vacuum susceptibility obtained in the BC vertex approximation is reduced by about 10%. This shows that the dressing effect of the quark-gluon vertex is not large in the calculation of the tensor vacuum susceptibility in the DS approach.

Abstract:The QCD vacuum condensates and various vacuum susceptibilities are all important parameters which characterize the nonperturbative properties of the QCD vacuum. In the QCD sum rules external field formula, various QCD vacuum susceptibilities play important roles in determining the properties of hadrons. In this paper, we review the recent progress in studies of vacuum susceptibilities together with their applications to the chiral phase transition of QCD. The results of the tensor, the vector, the axial-vector, the scalar, and the pseudo-scalar vacuum susceptibilities are shown in detail in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equations.

Abstract:Based on the quark propagator in the instanton dilute liquid approximation, we calculate analytically the quark condensate $<\bar{q}q>$, the mixed quark gluon condensate $g_{s}<\bar{q}G_{\mu\nu}\sigma^{\mu\nu}q>$ and the four quark condensate $<\bar{q} \Gamma q\bar{q} \Gamma q>$ at the mean field level in the framework of global color symmetry model. The numerical calculation shows that the values of these condensates are compatible with the ranges determined by other nonperturbative approaches. Moreover, we find that for nonlocal four quark condensate the previous vacuum saturation assumption is not a good approximation even at the mean field level.

Abstract:A modified method for calculating the nonperturbative quark vacuum condensates from the global color symmetry model is derived. Within this approach it is shown that the vacuum condensates are free of ultraviolet divergence which is different from previous studies. Abstract:We generalize our previous work [Phys. Rev. C 72, 035202 (2005)] on the linear response theory of the dressed quark propagator in the presence of a constant external field to the case of a variable external field in order to make it applicable to a wider class of problems. Using the axial vector vacuum susceptibility as an illustration, we apply this general formalism to extract a new expression for the axial vector vacuum susceptibility in the quantum chromodynamical (QCD) sum rule two-point external field formula. Abstract:In quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the scalar susceptibility represents the modification of the quark condensate, to a small perturbation of the parameter responsible for the explicit breaking of the symmetry, i.e., the current quark mass. By studying the linear response of the dressed quark propagator to the presence of a nonzero quark mass, we derive a model-independent formula for the scalar susceptibility, which contains the dressed quark propagator G(p) and the dressed scalar vertex Γ(p, 0). The numerical values of the scalar susceptibility χs are calculated within the framework of the rainbow-ladder approximation of the Dyson-Schwinger approach by employing two typical forms of model gluon propagator.
