Abstract:A new dibenzofuran named 1,2,4-trimethyl-7,8-dimethoxy-dibenzofuran (1), together with seven known compounds, euparin (2), 2,5-diacetyl-6-hydroxy-benzofuran (3), 2-acetyl-5,6-dimethoxybenzofuran (4), gummosogenin (5), lupeol (6), stigmasterol (7) and (E)-2,5-dihydroxy-cinnamic acid (8), were isolated from the roots of Ligularia caloxantha, a Chinese medicinal plant. The structures of the compounds were elucidated by spectroscopic methods.

Abstract:An abietane diterpenoid, triptobenzene Y and six sesquiterpene polyol esters, wilforsinines C–H, together with 14 known compounds, have been isolated from the roots of Tripterygium wilfordii. The structures of the compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analyses. The quinone reductase (QR) induction assay indicated that two compounds showed moderate QR-inducing activities at concentrations of 25μM and 50μM, respectively.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To investigate the chemical constituents of the roots and rhizomes of Ligularia macrophylla.METHODS The compounds were isolated through repeated column chromatography on silica gel, polyamide, RP-18 and Sephadex LH-20. And the structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data (UV, IR, MS, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, DEPT and 2D NMR). RESULTS Four flavonol glycosides and two monoterpene glycosides were obtained and determined as rhamnazin-3-O-β-D-rutinoside ( 1 ), rhamnetin-3-O-β-D-rutinoside ( 2), rutin ( 3), afzelin ( 4), betulalbuside A (5) and 3,7-dimethyloct-1 -en-3,8-diol8-O-β-D- glucopyranoside (6). CONCLUSION All the compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time.

Abstract:Phytochemical investigation of the roots of LIGULARIA VEITCHIANA has resulted in the characterization of two new eremophilanolides together with beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, taraxol, and liguhodgsonal whose structure was further confirmed by the (13)C-NMR techniques. The structures of the new constituents were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and shown to be 1beta, 10beta-epoxy-6beta(2'-hydroxymethylacryloyloxy)-8beta-hydroxy-eremophila-7(11)-en-12,8alpha-olide ( 1) and 1beta, 10beta-epoxy-6beta-(2'-hydroxymethylacryloyloxy)-8beta-ethoxy-eremophila-7(11)-en-12,8alpha-olide ( 2).

Abstract:Two chalcones and one flavonone were isolated from the rhizomes of Ligularia vellerea:3,2',4'-trihydroxy-4-methoxy-chalcone (1),4,2',4'-trihydroxy-chalcone (2) and 7,3'-dihydroxy-4'-methoxy flavonoe (3). The structures of these three compounds were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR (including 1H-1H COSY、HSQC and HMBC). The positions of the methoxyl and the hydroxyl groups in each compound were determined.

Abstract:A new lignan glycoside, (7S,8R)-guaiacylglycerol-ferulic acid ether-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), along with five known phenylpropanoids (2-6) and seven phenylpropanoid glycosides (7-13), were isolated from the stems of Zanthoxylum armatum DC. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 2-8 and 11-13 were first isolated from Rutaceae and the others were isolated for the first time from Z. armatum.

Abstract:Abstract A new eremophilenolide 1β ,10β -epoxy-6β -acetoxy-3β -angeloyloxy-8β -hydrox y-eremophil- 7(11)-en-8,12α-olide (1), together with liguhodgsonal (2), esculetin (3) and β -sitosterol (4), was isolated from the aerial parts of Ligularia sagitta. Abstract:Ligulaverin A I, an eremophilane derivative with a novel carbon skeleton, was isolated from the medicinal plant Ligularia veitchiana, along with four analogues (ligulaverin B 2, ligulaverin C 3, ligulaverin D 4 and ligulaverin E 5). Abstract:A new and three known furanoeremophilanes were separated from Ligularia. atroviolacea via chemical investigation, which were identified as 1 alpha-chloro-6 beta-isobutyroxy-9-oxo-10 beta-hydroxy-furanoeremophilane (1), 1 alpha-hydroxy-6 beta-lsobutyroxy-9-oxo-10 beta-H-furanoeremophilane (2), 1 alpha-hydroxy-6 beta-isobutyroxy-9-oxo-10 alpha-H-furanoeremophilane (3), 1 alpha, 10 beta-dlhydroxy-6 beta-angeloyloxy-9-oxo-furanoeremophilane (4). Their structures were established by spectroscopic methods including 2D-NMR. The absolute structure of compound 1 was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
