Abstract:The integrals of the motion of particle system in gravity field are discussed,the relation between Runge-Lenz type vector and constants in the separation variable method is analyzed.The integrability of system and its relation with the integrals of motion are also studied.

Abstract:In Affine Toda field theory, links among three generating functions for integrals of motion derived from Part (I) are studied, and some classically integrable boundary conditions are obtained. An infinite number of integrals of motion are calculated in ZMS model with quasi-periodic condition. We find the classically integrable boundary conditions and K+/-, matrices of ZMS model with independent boundary conditions on each end. It is identified that an infinite number of integrals of motion does exist and one of them is the Hamiltonian, so this system is completely integrable.

Abstract:Stationary black holes of massless supergravity theories are described by certain geodesic curves on the target space that is obtained after dimensional reduction over time. When the target space is a symmetric coset space we make use of the group-theoretical structure to prove that the second order geodesic equations are integrable in the sense of Liouville, by explicitly constructing the correct amount of Hamiltonians in involution. This implies that the Hamilton-Jacobi formalism can be applied, which proves that all such black hole solutions, including non-extremal solutions, possess a description in terms of a (fake) superpotential. Furthermore, we improve the existing integration method by the construction of a Lax integration algorithm that integrates the second order equations in one step instead of the usual two step procedure. We illustrate this technology with a specific example.

Abstract:We notice an analogy between the motion of a relativistic particle with external homogeneous and time-dependent electromagnetic fields and the Dik'ii-Eilenberger equation for the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equation. By means of the integrable defocusing nonlinear Schrödinger hierarchy and their solitons appearing in the Gross-Neveu and Nambu-Jona-Lasinio models, we construct an infinite family of solutions of the Lorentz equation with non-vanishing curvature and torsion.

On the integrable gravity coupled to fermions

Abstract:In the present letter we indicate an extension of the pure gravity inverse scattering integration technique to the case when fermions (introduced on the base of supersymmetry) are present. In this way the integrability technique for simple ($N=1$) supergravity in two space-time dimensions coupled to the matter fields taking values in the Lie algebra of $E_{8\left( +8\right) }$ group is developed. This theory contains matter living only in one Weyl representation of $SO\left( 16\right) $ and represents the reduction to two dimensions of the three-dimensional simple supergravity constructed in [1]. Our spectral linear problem use superspace and covers the complete set of principal bosonic and fermionic equations of motion. This linear system, as in pure gravity, contains only the first order poles with respect to the spectral parameter. The procedure of constructing the exact super-solitonic solutions is outlined.

Abstract:Gravity is derived from an entropic action coupling matter fields with geometry. The fundamental idea is to relate the metric of Lorentzian spacetime to a density matrix. The matter fields curve spacetime, defining a metric induced by the matter fields. The entropic action is the quantum relative entropy between the metric of spacetime and the metric induced by the matter fields. The modified Einstein equations obtained reduce to the Einstein equations in the regime of low coupling. To simplify the theory, exclusively scalar matter fields are considered. This theoretical framework can be extended in different directions, for instance by including fermionic matter fields and gauge fields. A canonical quantization of this field theory could bring new insights into quantum gravity.

Integrability in Gravity from Chern-Simons Theory

Abstract:This paper presents a new perspective on integrability in theories of gravity. We show how the stationary, axisymmetric sector of General Relativity can be described by the boundary dynamics of a four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory. This approach shows promise for simplifying solution generating methods in both General Relativity and higher-dimensional supergravity theories. The four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory presented generalises those for flat space integrable models by introducing a space-time dependent branch cut in the spectral plane. We also make contact with twistor space approaches to integrability, showing how the branch cut defects of four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory arise from a discrete reduction of six-dimensional Chern-Simons theory.

Abstract:In the work [\emph{Phys. Rev. D} extbf{84}, 124041 (2011)], to obtain a simple and economic formulation of field equations for generalised theories of gravity described by the Lagrangian , the key equality was derived. In this note, it is demonstrated that such an equality can be directly derived from an off-shell Noether current associated with an arbitrary vector field. As byproducts, a generalized Bianchi identity related to the divergence for the expression of field equations, together with the Noether potential, is obtained. On the basis of the above, we further propose a systematic procedure to derive the equations of motion from the Noether current, and then this procedure is extended to more general higher-order gravities endowed with the Lagrangian encompassing additional terms of the covariant derivatives of the Riemann tensor. To our knowledge, both the detailed expressions for field equations and the Noether potential associated with such theories are first given at a general level. All the results reveal that using the Noether current to determine field equations establishes a straightforward connection between the symmetry of the Lagrangian and the equations of motion and such a remedy even can avoid calculating the derivative of the Lagrangian density with respect to the metric.

Translation gauge field theory of gravity in Minkowski spacetime

Abstract:The gravitational field with spin-2 is introduced naturally by the requirement that the Lagrangian is locally translation invariant in Minkowski spacetime. The interactions between the gravitational field and spin-1/2, 0, 1 matter fields are obtained along with the Lagrangian for the gravitational field including self-interactions. The deflection angle of light when it passes through the sun is calculated with different gauge conditions as an example. Our leading-order result is the same as that from general relativity, although the basic ideas are different. It is interesting that gravity can be described in a similar way to other fundamental interactions in Minkowski spacetime, and it may provide a new scenario for the Universe.

Abstract:We consider a static, spherically symmetric system of a Dirac particle in a classical gravitational and SU(2) Yang-Mills field. We prove that the only black-hole solutions of the corresponding Einstein-Dirac-Yang/Mills equations are the Bartnik-McKinnon black-hole solutions of the SU(2) Einstein-Yang/Mills equations; thus the spinors must vanish identically. This indicates that the Dirac particles must either disappear into the black-hole or escape to infinity.

Abstract:In this paper, we present a theory for gravity coupled with scalar, SU$(n)$ and spinor fields on manifolds with null-boundary. We perform the symplectic reduction of the space of boundary fields and give the constraints of the theory in terms of local functionals of boundary vielbein and connection. For the three different couplings, the analysis of the constraint algebra shows that the set of constraints does not form a first class system.

One-Dimensional Quantum Systems with Ground-State of Jastrow Form Are Integrable

Abstract:The exchange operator formalism (EOF) describes many-body integrable systems using phase-space variables involving an exchange operator that acts on any pair of particles. We establish an equivalence between models described by EOF and the complete infinite family of parent Hamiltonians (PHJ) describing quantum many-body models with ground-states of Jastrow form. This makes it possible to identify the invariants of motion for any model in the PHJ family and establish its integrability, even in the presence of an external potential. Using this construction we establish the integrability of the long-range Lieb-Liniger model, describing bosons in a harmonic trap and subject to contact and Coulomb interactions in one dimension. We give a variety of examples exemplifying the integrability of Hamiltonians in this family.

Abstract:We investigate the effects of Chern-Simons-Gauss-Bonnet gravity on fundamental metrics. This theory involves perturbative corrections to general relativity, as well as two scalar fields, the axion and the dilaton, that arise from Chern-Simons and Gauss-Bonnet gravity modifications respectively. The combined Chern-Simons-Gauss-Bonnet gravity is motivated by a wide range of theoretical and phenomenological perspectives, including particle physics, string theory, and parity violation in the gravitational sector. In this work, we provide the complete set of field equations and equations of motion of the Chern-Simons-Gauss-Bonnet modified gravity theory for a suite of fundamental metrics (Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker, Schwarzschild, spherically symmetric, and perturbed Minkowski), under no prior assumptions on the behavior of the fields. The full set of field equations and equations of motion can be numerically solved and applied to specific observables under certain assumptions, and can be used to place constraints on the Chern-Simons-Gauss-Bonnet modified gravity theory.

Stability of the relative equilibria of a rigid body in a J2 gravity field

Abstract:The motion of a point mass in the J2 problem is generalized to that of a rigid body in a J2 gravity field. Different with the original J2 problem, the gravitational orbit-rotation coupling of the rigid body is considered in this generalized problem. The linear stability of the classical type of relative equilibria of the rigid body, which have been obtained in our previous paper, is studied in the framework of geometric mechanics with the second-order gravitational potential. Non-canonical Hamiltonian structure of the problem, i.e., Poisson tensor, Casimir functions and equations of motion, are obtained through a Poisson reduction process by means of the symmetry of the problem. The linear system matrix at the relative equilibria is given through the multiplication of the Poisson tensor and Hessian matrix of the variational Lagrangian. Based on the characteristic equation of the linear system matrix, the conditions of linear stability of the relative equilibria are obtained. With the stability conditions obtained, the linear stability of the relative equilibria is investigated in details in a wide range of the parameters of the gravity field and the rigid body. We find that both the zonal harmonic J2 and the characteristic dimension of the rigid body have significant effects on the linear stability. Similar to the attitude stability in a central gravity field, the linear stability region is also consisted of two regions that are analogues of the Lagrange region and the DeBra-Delp region. Our results are very useful for the studies on the motion of natural satellites in our solar system.
Superintegrability in the interaction of two particles with spin

Abstract:We initiate a research program for the systematic investigation of quantum superintegrable systems involving the interaction of two non-relativistic particles with spin $1/2$ moving in the three-dimensional Euclidean space. In this paper, we focus specifically on such superintegrable systems that allow additional scalar integrals of motion, linear in the momenta. We first identify specific potentials appearing in the Hamiltonian that should be excluded from the analysis, as they can be immediately derived through gauge transformations of the natural Hamiltonian. Next, we construct the most general symmetric scalar operator and derive the determining equations from its commutation with the Hamiltonian. Solving these equations, we obtain 12 new superintegrable systems with spin, along with their corresponding first-order scalar integrals of motion.

Abstract:This essay's title is justified by discussing a class of Yang-Mills-type theories of which standard Yang-Mills theories are special cases but which is broad enough to include gravity as a double field theory. We use the framework of homotopy algebras, where conventional Yang-Mills theory is the tensor product ${\cal K}\otimes \frak{g}$ of a `kinematic' algebra ${\cal K}$ with a color Lie algebra $\frak{g}$. The larger class of Yang-Mills-type theories are given by the tensor product of ${\cal K}$ with more general Lie-type algebras of which ${\cal K}$ itself is an example, up to anomalies that can be cancelled for the tensor product with a second copy $\bar{\cal K}$. Gravity is then given by ${\cal K}\otimes \bar{\cal K}$.
