Abstract:A facile and eco-friendly protocol for the synthesis of sulfonylhydrazones from sulfonyl chlorides, hydrazine hydrate and vinyl azides was developed. The unique advantage of this approach is that desired products can be obtained efficiently in water, which meets the requirements of green chemistry and provides good perspectives for the sustainable production of new drug candidate. Also, this reaction proceeded in moderate to good yields with a wide tolerance of functional groups.

Abstract:A solvent-free microwave-assisted synthesis of trisubstituted imidazoles is reported. The imidazoles are produced by the condensation of alpha-hydroxyketone with an aldehyde over silica gel or alumina impregnated with ammonium acetate as the solid support in short time with good yields. An air oxidation mechanism is proposed, and this clean air oxidation considerably reduces the cost of imidazole synthesis.

Abstract:γ-Carbolines were obtained in a simple one-pot Fischer arting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobro-reaction starting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobromide and substituted arylhydrazine hydrochlorides in acidic media under microwave irradiation or by a thermal process. The optimization procedures are reported in detail, and the results from micro-wave processes are compared with conventional ones.

Abstract:The thiazole ring system is one of the most important heterocycles in nature, as it represents an important structural motif of many biological compounds, including vitamin B1 (Thiamin), carboxylase and penicillin. There is, therefore, an urgent need to design rapid, efficient and environmentally benign protocols for the synthesis of thiazoles. Herein, we have developed a one-pot protocol for the synthesis of 4-aryl-2-aminothiazoles from the reaction of aromatic ketones, NBS (N-Bromosuccinimide) and thioureas under microwave irradiation at 80–85 °C in PEG (polyethylene glycol)-400 and water as a green reaction medium. The products were obtained in 84–89% yields in 28–32 min. The method has several advantages such as use of green solvent, easy work-up, excellent yield and avoiding use of lachrymatric α-haloketones.

Abstract:Aim and Objective: Pyrazolone sulfones have been reported to exhibit herbicidal and antibacterial activities. In spite of their good bioactivities, only a few methods have been developed to prepare pyrazolone sulfones. However, the substrate scope of these methods is limited. Moreover, the direct sulfonylation of pyrazolone by aryl sulfonyl chloride failed to give pyrazolone sulfones. Thus, developing a more efficient method to synthesize pyrazolone sulfones is very important. Materials and Method: Pyrazolone, aryl sulphonyl hydrazide, iodine, p-toluenesulphonic acid and water were mixed in a sealed tube, which was heated to 100°C for 12 hours. The mixture was cooled to 0°C and m-CPBA was added in batches. The mixture was allowed to stir for 30 min at room temperature. The crude product was purified by silica gel column chromatography to afford sulfuryl pyrazolone. Results: In all cases, the sulfenylation products were formed smoothly under the optimized reaction conditions, and were then oxidized to the corresponding sulfones in good yields by 3-chloroperoxybenzoic acid (m-CPBA) in water. Single crystal X-ray analysis of pyrazolone sulfone 4aa showed that the major tautomer of pyrazolone sulfones was the amide form instead of the enol form observed for pyrazolone thioethers. Moreover, the C=N double bond isomerized to form an α,β-unsaturated C=C double bond. Conclusion: An efficient method to synthesize pyrazolone thioethers by iodine-catalyzed sulfenylation of pyrazolones with aryl sulfonyl hydrazides in water was developed. Moreover, this method was employed to synthesize pyrazolone sulfones in one-pot by subsequent sulfenylation and oxidation reactions.

Abstract:This is the first report on the synthesis and characterization of N-iodo sulfoximines. The synthesis was designed as a room temperature one-pot cascade reaction from readily available sulfides as starting compounds, converted into sulfoximines by reaction with ammonium carbonate and (diacetoxyiodo)benzene, followed by iodination with N-iodosuccinimide or iodine in situ, in up to 90% isolated yields, also at a multigram scale. Iodination of aryls with N-iodo sulfoximines, oxidation, and conversion to N-SCF3 congeners have been demonstrated.

Abstract:A microwave-assisted reaction was developed to facilitate the construction of 4,5-disubstituted pyrazolopyrimidines. This one-pot two-step process involves a sequential SNAr displacement of the C4 chloro substituent with various anilines and amines, followed by a Suzuki coupling reaction with different boronic acids. Using microwave irradiation leads to high product conversion, low side product formation, and shorter reactions.

Abstract:A novel, highly efficient, eco-friendly, and quick microwave-assisted synthesis of 2, 4, 5- substituted imidazoles by one-pot cyclo condensation of acenaphthoquinone, aromatic aldehydes, and ammonium acetate was reported under solvent-free conditions using ammonium chloride as a catalyst with excellent yield. The present methodology offers several advantages, such as mild reaction conditions, easy workup, short reaction time, excellent yield, purification of products by the non-chromatographic method, and reproducibility in large-scale synthesis. Compounds were characterized by IR, 1HNMR, 13C NMR spectroscopy and their melting points were compared with the literature reports.

Abstract:We have described a novel pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyridines under microwave irradiation method using economical and readily accessible substrates, with triethylamine serving as a base and water as a green solvent. Developing novel and environmentally friendly green methodologies are critical in synthetic organic chemistry. Here, we investigated the one‐pot, efficient green synthesis of pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyridine derivatives via a multicomponent approach. The reactions were operated in an aqueous medium by using microwave irradiation and conventional protocols. The green protocol offered high yields of desired product in swift reaction time, and good tolerance under reaction conditions.

Abstract:A series of 2-amino-4-aryl-5-oxo-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4H-chromene-3-carbonitrile derivatives (4a similar to 4g) were prepared by using 1,3-cyclohexanedione, aromatic aldehydes and malononitrile in anhydrous alcohol under microwave irradiation without catalyst. Compared with conventional heating method, the method of microwave irradiation possesses advantages including short time, high yield and environmental friendliness, etc. The structures of these compounds were characterized by IR, (1)H NMR spectra and elemental analysis.
