Abstract:A series of 1,3-diphenyl-2-pyrazoline derivatives 3 were synthesized starting from substituted phenylhydrazine hydrochloride (1) and beta-dimethylaminopropiophenone hydrochloride (2) under microwave irradiation conditions. The reactions were easily worked up with short time and high yields.

Abstract:Under regular heating or microwave irradiation, 3-alkyl substituted imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines were synthesized from 2,2'-pyridil or di-2-pyridyl ketone and aliphatic aldehydes in the presence of ammonium acetate and acetic acid. Compared to the traditional heating condition, 3-alkyl imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines were obtained with higher yields and shorter reaction time under microwave irradiation. All products were characterized by their H-1 NMR, MS spectra and elemental analysis.

This method provides several advantages such as high yields, facile work-up, and environmental friendliness.

Abstract:The synthesis of bifunctional pyridine and quinolione derivatives were investigated using terephthalic and isophthalic aldehydes as a precursor. The reaction proceeds under microwave irradiation with good yield (70-92%) and short reaction time (7-9 min.). We provide a rapid and efficient method of synthesizing a range of bifunctional monocyclic and bicyclic products related to 1,4-dihydropyridines (1,4-DHPs).

Abstract:An effective synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one derivatives using ionic liquid 1-n-butyl-3-methylimmidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim]PF6) as the catalyst from aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea (thiourea) under microwave irradiation is described. This new method has the advantage of high yields (80-95% for aromatic aldehydes) and short reaction time (3-5 min).

Abstract:We have described a novel pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyridines under microwave irradiation method using economical and readily accessible substrates, with triethylamine serving as a base and water as a green solvent. Developing novel and environmentally friendly green methodologies are critical in synthetic organic chemistry. Here, we investigated the one‐pot, efficient green synthesis of pyrazolo[3,4‐b]pyridine derivatives via a multicomponent approach. The reactions were operated in an aqueous medium by using microwave irradiation and conventional protocols. The green protocol offered high yields of desired product in swift reaction time, and good tolerance under reaction conditions.

Abstract:A series of novel hydrazone derivatives containing pyridine moiety were designed and synthesized from 2,3-dichloro-5-(trifluoromethyl) pyridine as starting materials under microwave irradiation, and their structures were characterized by H-1 NMR, MS and elemental analysis. The biological activity of title compounds was determined. The results indicated that some of title compounds exhibited good antifungal activity.

Abstract:In this paper, a novel synthetic method for 4-N-substituted 6-bromopyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines was reported. Starting from 2-aminonicotinonitrile, following by bromination of aromatic ring, condensation, cyclization, and Dimroth rearrangement, a series of 21 new pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives was prepared in high yields (up to 98%). In the last two steps, microwave irradiation was used. The structures of synthesized compounds were determined by NMR, IR, and HRMS techniques. The results showed that application of microwave irradiation has a beneficial effect for the preparation of desired products, as it is simple and efficient method for improving the yields and reducing the formation of undesirable by-products.

Abstract:A facile high-yield, solvent-free approach for the synthesis of a series of 1-(hydroxymethyl)-pyrazoles under microwave irradiation was developed for the first time. The structures of four pyrazoles compounds were characterised by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction, and showed interesting intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonding linking two pyrazoles molecules to form R22(10) dimer architectures. In additional, the intermolecular interactions in the crystal were investigated through the Hirshfeld surface analysis to understand the charac-teristics of the close contacts, and the 2D-fingerprint plot data exposed that a significant contributions to the crystal packing are from N center dot center dot center dot H/H center dot center dot center dot N contacts. The geometry optimization, electronic properties and energies level of HOMO, LUMO were performed by Density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Quantitative electro-static potential analysis (ESP) and independent gradient model based on Hirshfeld partition (IGMH) explained the active hydrogen bonding sites in four pyrazoles compounds and confirmed the hydrogen bonding modes in their crystal structure.

Abstract:γ-Carbolines were obtained in a simple one-pot Fischer arting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobro-reaction starting from N-acetyl-3-bromo-4-piperidone hydrobromide and substituted arylhydrazine hydrochlorides in acidic media under microwave irradiation or by a thermal process. The optimization procedures are reported in detail, and the results from micro-wave processes are compared with conventional ones.

Abstract:Abstract The effect of microwave irradiation on the reactions of 2-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4-R1-furo[3,2-b]pyrrole-5-carboxhydrazides 1 with 5-arylfuran-2-carboxaldehydes 2, thiophene-2-carboxaldehyde (3) and methyl 2-formylfuro[3,2-b]pyrrole-5-carboxylates 4 has been studied. Reactions of 1 with formic and acetic acid, respectively, led to acylhydrazides 9a–c. Reaction of 1a with 4-substituted 1,3-oxazol-5(4H)-one 10 led to imidazole derivative 13. 1,2,4-Triazole-3-thiones 15a,b were synthesized by two-step reaction of 1a with potassium isothiocyanate and phenyl isothiocyanate, respectively, and subsequent base-catalyzed cyclization of thiosemicarbazides 14a,b. Pyrazole 16 was prepared by reaction of 1a with pentane-2,4-dione.

Abstract:An effective, green and eco-friendly method was developed to synthesize 1 H -benzimidazole under microwave irradiation. The reactions of substituted o -phenylenediamine with DMF were efficiently promoted by butanoic acid, and the desired product 1 H -benzimidazole derivatives were obtained in good to excellent yields. Compared with the conventional heating method, microwave irradiation significantly reduced the reaction time and improved the yields of the target products.
