Study on the Environment Conditions along the 110 Kv Transmission Line of Qinghai-Tibet Railway

Abstract:The 110 kV AC power transmission line along Qi nghai-Tibet railway runs through areas with an average elevation of more than 4 000 meters and very special environment condition that must be considered during the design of the power transmission line. The mean values of the meteorologica l data, such as temperature, humidity, rainfall and ultraviolet radiation are fo und out by analyzing the data gotten from the meteorological stations along Qing hai-Tibet railway. The pollution level is estimated based on the sample values of equivalent salt deposit density and dust deposit density on the surface of st ones and experiment insulators located along Qinghai-Tibet railway. Basing on t he results of field investigation and data collection, this paper analyzes the s pecial environment characterristics, such as low air pressure and ultraviolet ra diation of this region that will affect the design of the transmission line.
