Abstract:Remote power-supply technology and its states and foreground in modern application on network communication facilities were introduced.A new surveillant block design strategy with high compatibility and modularized was proposed.The structure of remote power-supply system,the hardware design scheme and software strategy on power-management of the power-distribution manager were presented.Experimental results indicate that the new design improves the efficiency of surveillance on the facilities under control,and realizes power distribution with accuracy and intelligence.

The Distribution Feature of Electromagnetic Radiation Pollution in the Nearby Region Around Cellular Base Stations

Abstract:Aiming at the problem of electromagnetic radiation pollution with attention paid increasingly from people living near the cellular base station, through 24-hour surveys and analysis of the distribution of electromagnetic field around cellular base stations, the power density change of electromagnetic fields vs. the time and distance in normal operating day and also the probability distribution of power density were studied. And based on the 24h telephone traffic in each time section, the Statistical Analysis System (SAS) was also used to analyze the correlation of this influence factor. The result showed that the electromagnetic radiation intensity near the antennae of cellular base station had obviously fluctuated character in one day, and the probability distribution of its power density approached normal distribution. The handset telephone traffic possessed definite relativity with the electromagnetic field intensity; around cellular base stations, the power density increased with distance; the peak value of power density appeared in a certain distance, and the distance was related with the height of antennae. For general urban base station in China, the environmental electromagnetic radiation is below the limits value of standard.

Abstract:Our work has started from developing the renewable energy and broke through the traditional electricity supply method of the mobile communication. Utilizing the solar energy as the main power supplies the most import device base station in mobile communication system. In the mean time it combined the diesel as backup power supply to guarantee the device working safe and stable. The system uses the SCM as the core part of the whole hardware system. It controls the power switch, which depends on the sensor testing the surroundings and combined with the situation of the storage battery. In the same time, we developed a software at integrated management platform to monitor the electricity supply node and the temperature, humidity in base station and deal with the emergency etc. Our product combining the power system and telecommunication device prederablly and supporting with the software management platform have basically solved the problems of electricity supply, maintenance and high expense of management of the remote base station device.

Abstract:The multi-site smart substation has the characteristics of intelligent operation and maintenance, data fusion and economic efficiency, which can meet the needs of intelligent, digital and zero-carbon development. Thus, this paper establishes a multi-site smart substation scheme based on digital and physical simulation technology. First, it analyzes the intelligent operation and maintenance application of operation, inspection and defect identification in the intelligent operation and maintenance of the substation, and the data fusion application to improve the information judgment ability. The economical and efficient application of carbon photovoltaics; secondly, the data model, 3D model and simulation model of digital and physical simulation technology are analyzed; finally, the economy, intelligence and effectiveness of multi-site smart substations are verified by practical example simulation.

Abstract:Energy consumption and CO2 emissions have recently become topics of particular interest across the cellular telecommunication industry. This situation is moving this industry towards the introduction of renewable sources of energy, such as solar energy, wind energy, etc. for the energy supply to their networks. These solutions are environmentally friendly and technically proven, but when it comes to real implementation there are several drawbacks that limit their applicability (e.g. instable sources of energy, number and size of energy system infrastructure elements, as solar panels). To cope with these constraints, in this paper, a method / system, jointly with some results of early implementations, is described for adapting the service (i.e. coverage and/or capacity) provided by a base station, as a function of the weather forecast (regarding the renewable energy source), the stored energy in the back-up battery supply, and historical base station power consumption data, over a time period.

Abstract:The energy consumption and carbon emissions of base stations (BSs) raise significant concerns about future network deployment. Renewable energy is thus adopted and supplied to enable the net-zero (or zero-carbon) BS. However, due to severe inconsistency between renewable energy generation and power demand, the conventional one-to-one power supply architecture could cause large waste and low utilization of renewable energy. In this article, we design a many-to-many power supply architecture for BSs to maximize the utilization of renewable energy. More specifically, we strategically group multiple renewable energy generators into virtual cells to serve multiple BSs in an integrated way, thus minimizing the inconsistency between the renewable energy generation and power demand. To finetune the power mismatch between power supply and demand in each virtual cell, we propose software-defined techniques to flexibly control the discharging/charging of a battery energy storage system. Illustrative results from a case study demonstrate that high renewable energy utilization can be achieved with the proposed architecture and mechanisms.

Abstract:Vodafone, China Mobile and Huawei have started a joint green technology programme to advance renewable energy application in wireless networks to reduce diesel consumption and to contribute substantially to CO2 emission reduction. Three experimental BTS sites, an NFB PV site, a macro BTS PV-diesel site and a distributed BTS PV-wind site, were set up to verify and optimize system design and implementation. By computation and real operation, the power reliabilities of the three sites are 100% with fewer costs in terms of 3-year TCO in comparison to dual D.G. systems respectively. The CO2 emission can be reduced greatly.

Abstract:The widespread installation of 5G base stations has caused a notable surge in energy consumption, and a situation that conflicts with the aim of attaining carbon neutrality. Numerous studies have affirmed that the incorporation of distributed photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems (ESS) is an effective measure to reduce energy consumption from the utility grid. The optimization of PV and ESS setup according to local conditions has a direct impact on the economic and ecological benefits of the base station power system. An improved base station power system model is proposed in this paper, which takes into consideration the behavior of converters. And through this, a multi-faceted assessment criterion that considers both economic and ecological factors is established. Then, the PV and ESS capacity optimization for base stations under multiple scenarios is realized. The case study indicates that the optimization process of PV and ESS is significantly influenced by the behavior of the converter.

Abstract:This paper developed a substation remote inspection system with robots.By analyzing the basic structure and control method of substation remote inspection,B/S Labview (Browser/server) architecture was designed.And auto-recharging strategy was designed to realize robots automatic charging.Then a remote robots inspection system for substation was developed.Practical operation results show this remote robot inspection system can detect abnormal condition of electrical equipment and guarante long term autonomous operation of robots by auto-recharging scheme.Thus,manpower cost of substation inspection is reduced,and it provides an innovative means of monitoring for smart substation operation and management.

Abstract:Long Term Evolution (LTE) and LTE-A researchers are deploying variety of techniques such as Multiple Inputs Multiple Outputs (MIMO) to achieve the higher throughput, while paying little attention to power consumption. In this paper, meticulous base station power consumption model is proposed, while more significantly, the model is calibrated. Then the relations between system parameters and power consumption of each sub-components is established, this energy consumption model and LTE system level simulation platform are integrated as a system level power consumption simulation platform. Two different base station energy saving technology applications are verified. Result shows 1.7 times EE improvement on average day utilizing the two schemes, while maximum EE increase per hour is 4.3 times.

Abstract:At present, multi-station fusion forms a variety of modes based on various combinations of substation, data center, energy storage station and charging station. In this paper, an integrated energy system was designed, using existing substation resources, construction of data fusion center stations, energy storage station, 5 g base stations, photovoltaic power station, wind power station, gas turbine station etc., realizing the sharing of resource integration, to support smart grid, to develop into a comprehensive energy services as a typical application scenario. The simulation was created to focus on evaluating the reliability of the system and penetration of the renewable power. Results of the structural optimization model simulation show that the designed integrated control strategy of multi-energy fusion energy station has high performance and comprehensive energy efficiency.

Abstract:Aiming to realize "full coverage, full collection" of electric power users information, it changes the situation which can not timely complete and accurate control the electric power user’s information for a long period. In the article the communication technology which was used in the information collection system was firstly analyzed, then the communication solution which was the combination of the fiber backbone network and the 230 MHz intelligent relay was proposed. The key technologies such as the way of network, communication timing, routing technology were in-depthly researched, and a 230 MHz micro-cellular network and terminal relay solution to eliminate blind spots was proposed. Finally the experiment was made. The experimental results show that the solution was reliable, safe, practical and feasible.

Abstract:The integrated energy system is a hot research issue in power system industry. In this paper, an integrated energy system was designed, with data center stations, energy storage station, 5 G and Beidou base stations, photovoltaic power station, gas turbine station, power station, etc., to develop into a comprehensive energy services as a typical application scenario. The power flow chart of energy interaction between stations was discussed, the electrical topology of multiple stations integration was put forward. A brief description of the dynamic cooperative optimal operation strategy of power management, using a typical day of operation control of a typical station as an example was carried out. The results of simulation show that the hybrid integrated energy stations with the proposed power management operate reliable and stable, has high performance and comprehensive energy efficiency.

Abstract:The development of wireless traffic toward high data rates and high dynamism has brought great challenges to traditional cellular networks.Heterogeneous networks with small base station sleeping are an effective solution to this problem,which balances service quality and network energy consumption.The scheduling of small base-stations should be based on the status information about the channel between users and small base-stations.However,once the small base-stations are turned off,they switch to the sleeping mode,thus the system is unable to obtain the aforementioned information.To solve this problem,this paper presents a periodical opening mechanism for small base-stations:the system periodically opens the small base-stations to obtain channel information between the users and the small base stations;once the users send an access request via the macro base stations,the system makes the correspondent decision on the basis of the channel information obtained when the small base-stations were open at the last time.The design of the opening cycle is a key factor influencing the effect of this mechanism.This paper divides the total energy consumption of the network into two parts,the energy consumption for periodical opening of small base-stations and the energy consumption for user service,and works out an optimal cycle design solution balancing the two parts and minimizing the total energy consumption.

Abstract:In this paper, research on mobile internet for smart power consumption had been completed; To encourage consumers to participate in peak-shifting, various devices and technologies have been deployed on customer premise, such as interactive terminals, data gathering equipments, load control devices, visualization technology, the interactive service platform and technical support platform etc. These measures have brought out major achievements. In Beijing, Shanghai, Nanchang and Yinchuan, through an empirical study for power consumption in the different cities, experiment showed that mobile internet for smart power consumption could reduce load difference, and smooth load curve, which can improve operation efficiency of power grid and relieve pressure of energy shortage due to the participation of consumers.
