Abstract:Aiming at problems of redundant electricity in compact district of small hydropower stations in Yunnan,weak structure of relevant regional power grids and low frequency oscillation in practical operation for many times,this paper dis-cusses simulation analysis on stability of the regional power grid according to operational data of southern power grid in 2014 and studies main influencing factors on low frequency oscillation of the power grid. Meanwhile,it proposes relevant meas-ures and suggestions to prevent low frequency oscillation of the regional power grid.

Analysis on Influence Factors of Fast Valving of Control Valve of Supercritical Unit on Promoting Transient Stability

Abstract:In order to quantitatively analyze influences of system parameters at the electrical side and operating conditions on fast valving function of the control valve and provide theoretical basis for optimization on fast valving setting of the super-critical unit as well as promote operation reliability and safety of the power grid,the paper dose research on No.1 unit in Guizhou Xingyi power plant and builds a source-grid hybrid simulation model including steam turbine,generator,excitation system and equivalent power grid on the basis of PSCAD/EMTDC simulation platform. It calculates faulted critical clearing time which is taken as the transient angle stability index by simulation under different influence factors and analyzes impacts of transmission line length,active power output and reactive power output of the generator,short circuit fault types,delay of fast valving on promoting transient stability. It finally draws a conclusion that there is a better linear regression relation-ship between the relative percentage of faulted critical clearing time and reciprocal of faulted short-circuit capacity.

Abstract:A large-scale multi-infeed direct current (MIDC) system leads to the relatively weak voltage support capability in the receiving AC system. Although it is critical to enhance the strength of AC system for mitigating severe voltage stability issues, it may exacerbate the short-circuit current (SCC) level at the same time. Since the network structure of the MIDC plays a significant role in dealing with the dilemma between grid strength and SCC level, this paper proposes a power network structure optimization method with constraints of static voltage stability and SCC level. First, the generalized short circuit ratio (gSCR) is applied to assess the grid strength of receiving AC system of the MIDC in terms of static voltage stability. Second, the relations between the gSCR and the SCC level are explored. Finally, we propose a solution algorithm based on the sensitivity analysis of SCC, with the goal of minimizing the number of lines to be opened by satisfying the constraints of the gSCR and the SCC level. The proposed method is verified to be effective by simulations that it can both limit the SCC level and ensure the static voltage stability of receiving AC system of the MIDC.

Abstract:The grid characteristics significantly differ in various areas because of the broad region in China. The appropriate construction standards should b e researched according to the different supply regions. The main trans former capacity con figuration of 110~35kV substation is researched in the paper. The optimization method of main transformer capacity is proposed. The capacity optimization mathematical model is established which takes the lowest annual cost per unit area of power network as the objective function. And the corresponding grid models of different voltage levels are created. The main transformer capacities of 110~35kV substation are optimized according to the load characteristics of different supply regions and the final capacity configuration is proposed.

Abstract:The construction of terminal substations is very important for grid optimization. First, the general principles of site selection for the 500 kV terminal substation are analyzed. Then methods for demonstrating the feasibility of 500 kV terminal substation construction schemes are proposed. Finally, the application schemes of the 500 kV terminal substation in Guangdong Power Grid of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan are discussed. These schemes are compared in electrical calculation, reliability evaluation and economic analysis, and the recommended scheme is given for Guangdong Power Grid.

Abstract:Grounding grid is an important guarantee for safe operation of transformer substation, and its performance has been under the attention of the appropriate departments. When the power system is in contingency, grounding grid will rapidly excrete fault current into the earth in order to control the rise of maximum of potential and ensure the safety of person and equipment. To make the superficial potential distributed and further reduce the touch voltage and step voltage so that we can better guarantee the personal and equipment safety, this paper puts forward the optimizing design scheme which uses numerical simulation to analyze the association factor and influencing factor.
A Power Grid Partitioning Method for Short-Circuit Current Considering Multi-Scenario Security with an Improved Direct Current Model

Abstract:In order to ensure the security of power grids and control the level of short-circuit currents, a multi-objective optimization method for power grid partitioning is proposed. This method takes into consideration both short-circuit currents and multi-scenario safety constraints. A power grid partitioning optimization model is established to achieve objectives such as minimizing disconnected lines, maximizing safety margins, and ensuring load balance in the main transformers. The model aims to satisfy constraints related to short-circuit current levels, base-case power flow, and N − 1 security. To address the significant deviation in the static security constraint model caused by large amounts of active power losses in large-scale power grids, an improved direct current model is proposed to reduce these errors and meet the accuracy requirements for grid partitioning optimization. Additionally, to adapt to the variability of renewable energy output, an optimization method is proposed, combining three scenarios of renewable energy generation while satisfying short-circuit current and static security constraints. The power grid partitioning model is mathematically formulated as a large-scale mixed-integer linear programming problem, which presents challenges in terms of hardware requirements and computational complexity when solved directly. To mitigate these challenges, equivalent WARD values are assigned to the short-circuit current constraints, base-case constraints, and anticipated fault-induced power flow constraints. Anticipated faults and bottleneck branches are accurately incorporated, and the problem is decomposed into smaller-scale mixed-integer linear programming problems, solved in a stepwise iterative manner. This approach significantly improves computational efficiency and meets the requirements of practical large-scale power grid applications. To validate the proposed model and algorithm, a simulation program is developed using C++, and a simulation analysis of a regional transmission network is conducted. The program ensures the correctness of the proposed model and demonstrates the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Abstract:Aiming at accident character of 500 kV AC transmission line of Southern Grid of China, analyzing different typical strategy of anti-lightning stroke (reducing angle of ground wire protection, increasing insulation level of transmission line, reducing earth resistance) including scope of application, effect and economical efficiency. Basing on artificial contamination test data of different type long string insulators, presents external insulation configuration principle of 500 kV AC transmission line applying saturated salt concentration measurement. Furthermore, compare technicality and economy of different external insulation configuration principle, and recommend optimization configuration principle of transmission line.

Abstract:Firstly,the data of voltage,active and reactive power,power factor etc. are statistically compared,and then the method of reactive power balance is used for analysis on the lack of reactive power. Therefore the status of voltage and reactive power control in Jiangsu 220 kV power grid is analyzed from the view of capacity allocation and management. The main problems of reactive power and voltage are pointed out,and corresponding suggestions are presented. The work can be used for reference for optimization of reactive power and voltage control in the future.

Abstract:This paper addresses the correlation between the coverage of regional power grid supply and the sensitivity of line backup protection. Through a theoretical analysis of the calculation method for line backup protection sensitivity in power grids, and in accordance with grid regulations, this paper proposes a planning method for the supply range of power grid lines that meets sensitivity constraints. And the reliability of this method in calculating and evaluating the optimal power supply radius of lines is verified by taking the example of an actual 66 kV grid in a region. This method can be used to optimise network structure, improve the reliability and economy of the grid, and guide the planning and construction of regional grids.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of insufficient power supply capacity, unbalanced load, and poor safety and reliability of the urban power grid, a flexible DC optimization control strategy is proposed to support the interconnection of power grid zones. Firstly, the steady-state and transient optimal control objectives are established to meet the safety and economic operation requirements of the grid; secondly, comprehensive evaluation indexes are constructed, covering load balancing, network loss, and voltage deviation, and a step-by-step approximation method is used to quickly solve the optimal power of the flexible DC, so as to realize the optimal control of the urban grid in the steady state. Meanwhile, a multi-terminal flexible DC adaptive sag control strategy based on the power margin of the converter station is designed to reasonably allocate the emergency power support in each partition after a fault and reduce the frequency deviation of the heavily loaded nodes. Taking the urban grid as an example, a simulation model of the grid structure with a 750 KV outer ring and a 220 KV inner ring is constructed, and the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method and its engineering practicability.

Abstract:The main 750kV power network of Northwest China Power Grid will be built up preliminarily in the year of 2008, the dynamic stability of Northwest China Power Grid under the operating mode of transmitting power from West China to East China at that time is analyzed and compared with present situation of Northwest China Power Grid. Simulation results show that after the building up of 750kV main power network the dynamic stability of Northwest China Power Grid will be improved. Due to the relative weakness of the 750kV main power network, the insufficient damping caused by the outage of 750kV tie-line, which connects Shaanxi power network with Gansu power network, may lead to low frequency oscillation, so that it will be necessary to configure PSS to ensure stable and secure operation of Northwest China Power Grid. Based on the results from time-domain simulation, small signal stability analysis, Prony analysis and residual method, the configuration of PSS in the 750kV power network of Northwest China Power Grid and corresponding optimal parameter setting scheme are proposed. Calculation results show that the proposed scheme is valid.

Abstract:The power grid load shows a trend of diversified development. With the continuous increase of the power grid construction scale, it is very important to optimize the power supply of the distribution network and improve the utilization of assets and equipment by using the peak valley complementary characteristics of multiple loads. In this paper, the peak-valley fluctuation characteristics of load are classified and analyzed. Cluster analysis is used to study the load classification with stable peak-valley characteristics in the complex load composition. Based on the peak-peak superposition and peak-valley complementary characteristics of the classified load, and considering the load space dimension, the multi-load optimization combination method for the whole period and time segment is proposed, and verified by simulation.

Abstract:This paper analyzes the characteristics of the Southwest Power Grid after the operation of the Central Tibet interconnection project. Considering the characteristics of the small scale of grid, the long-chain power transmission and the strong effect between generation and grid, the coordinated optimizing control scheme is used to improve the grid-generation coordination. It establishes a hierarchical Grid-Generation Coordinated Optimizing Control (GCOC) system based on the event-driven mechanism to realize multi-objective optimization, and the cross-iterative method is applied to solve the problem of mutual effect between AGC and AVC systems. The scheme improves the economy, security and quality of the grid operation. It solves the problem of the large-scale DC transmission system with the small-scale grid and the long-chain power transmission in Tibet Grid. The simulation results prove that the method can significantly improve the grid-generation coordination and reduce the operation risk during the development period of Southwest Power Grid.
Reliability and Economic Evaluation of the China Southern Power Grid

Abstract:The China southern power grid is now the only long-distance and huge capacity power system with AC and DC transmission lines in parallel in China. The reliability and economic evaluation of it is carried out based on the reliability evaluation software package TPLAN. By calculating the system reliability indices, we get an overview of the reliability of the China southern power grid, and draw the conclusion that its severity grade is Grade 2. By calculating the area and load bus reliability indices, we draw the conclusion that Guangdong province is the most unsubstantial part of the China southern power grid. In order to improve the reliability of the China southern power grid, we should pay special attention to improving the reliability of Guangdong province first. The conclusion is confirmed by the economic analysis of the China southern power grid based on the concept of CCDF. Once the algorithm is selected, the statistic data will affect the results greatly. In this paper, the sensitivity of evaluation results to statistic data is studied. Works done in this paper are particularly valuable for later planning and operation of power systems in China

Abstract:Abstract With the current gradual opening of our country’s electricity sales market and the successive improvement of related policies for grid-connected micro-grids, grid-connected micro-grid power supplies and their distribution transformer capacity have received attention and development. Based on the good development of my country’s electricity sales market environment, this paper designs the grid-connected microgrid power supply optimization system and its distribution and conversion capabilities to optimize the quality of electricity sales and optimize the grid configuration. In view of the fact that the operation of the microgrid system in my country’s market environment is more flexible at this stage, after a long time simulation test, a simulation analysis of the operation status of the grid-connected microgrid is carried out. In the course of the experiment, the electricity price in the distribution point process and the real-time changes of the electricity purchase price in the market will be considered comprehensively, and the processing in the micro-electricity system based on its distribution transformer capacity optimization system and the load forecast result will be considered. This article uses a power grid project actually constructed in East China as an example to analyze the results of simulation calculations. Then the NSGA-II algorithm is used to solve the optimized model for the cost and benefit composition of the grid. The optimized configuration method of the optical storage microgrid proposed in this paper can ensure the reliable power supply of users’ important loads during the off-grid operation of the microgrid, increase the installed capacity of distributed photovoltaics, and the configured energy storage system also allows enterprises to achieve low electricity prices. Purchase electric energy at any time and use it to supplement the load’s demand for electric energy during peak electricity price periods, thereby increasing revenue. The experimental research results show that the design of the grid-connected microgrid power supply capacity optimization system under the electricity sales environment studied in this paper can effectively reduce the additional investment required by external loads and the capacity of optical storage and distribution transformers. Only then can the economic marketing profit of the microgrid be improved to a certain extent.
