Abstract:There are 64 voltage space vectors in dual 3-phase inductive motors fed by CSI.The 12 maximal vectors in d-q subspace were selected and combined,then the 12 medium vectors were gained.A novel dual 3-phase SVPWM system was optimally designed.The stator harmonic current in z1-z2 and o1-o2 subspace was small,and the stator loss was controlled effectively.The system Simulink simulation model was made and the simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Abstract:A new SVPWM method used to control a six-phase dual stator induction motor is presented in this paper. By using decomposition technique, 12 vectors which have maximum magnitude are used to form a 12-side polygon and 12 sectors. The voltage reference vector is synthesized by two vectors with maximum magnitude, in which one vector is the sector's side and the other is the adjacent sector's side. This method corresponds to synthesizing the reference vector in individual three-phase VSIs. Simulation results, obtained from an 18-kW prototype machine, are presented.

Abstract:The modeling process of multiphase PMSM variable speed system was expressed in detail based on analyzing the characters of system.Furthermore,the two closed loops control modulation system for the six phase PMSM based on field oriented control were established.Some engineering problems for multiphase PMSM variable speed system also have been discussed,and the circuit of sampling,protection,and fault disposal were designed,moreover,the software of interrupt handling and fault diagnosis were designed.Finally,the simulation result proved the veracity and feasibility of modeling and algorithm above.The hardware circuit was also designed.

Abstract:The mathematic model that based on decoupling vector space for six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is established. The six-phase PMSM is designed with two sets of Y-connected windings phase shifted by 30 electrical degrees. In the model, the variables of the motor are mapped to the α-β subspace associated with the electromechanical energy conversion and z1-z2 o1-o2 subspace that has nothing to do with the energy conversion subspace in the model. The model implies that different current harmonics have different effects on electromechanical energy conversion. The vector control scheme for six-phase PMSM is presented, in which the currents in the subspace α-β and z1-z2 are controlled in closed loop. A space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) algorithm of six-phase voltage-source inverter based on adjacent four largest voltage vectors is discussed. The voltage in α-β and z1-z2 can be modulated simultaneously. Through the simulation and experiment analysis, the vector control method and PWM technique for six-phase PMSM are proved to be feasible and effective.

Abstract:This paper proposes a space vector modulation algorithm for an asymmetrical six-phase open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous motor (OEWPMSM) supplied by two two-level six-phase voltage source inverters(VSIs) with common mode voltage suppression. The VSIs are fed from two equal and isolated DC voltages. A six-phase open-end winding PMSM model is developed based on the vector space decomposition (VSD) technique. The voltage concept, namely, common mode voltage (CMV) is investigated in the drive system. A space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) method is then proposed which is capable of not only suppressing the current harmonics in non-torque producing sub-spaces, but also eliminating the CMV. The performance of the proposed PWM technique is evaluated using total harmonic distortion of motor voltage and current, the current components in different subspaces and CMV using Matlab/Simulink software.

Then the phase-fault SVPWM algorithm is put forward, and the simulation model is built in MATLAB to verify the feasibility of the algorithm. Abstract:There is a disadvantage of the traditional SVPWM techniques of six-phase motors, it does not consider the synthesizing vector in harmonic subspace. This thesis proposes modified SVPWM techniques based on twelve vectors. The novel techniques are simulated in Matlab/Simulink system and simulation results are given. Finally the SVPWM techniques are realized in the practical platform.

Abstract:The six-phase two-level voltage source inverter (SPTLVSI) fed the six-phase asymmetrical induction motor (SPAIM), which has a stator that splits the three-phase windings into two groups those are shifted electrically by . It introduces significant current harmonics of the order of , which can be mapped into the non-flux/torque producing sub-plane. These harmonics cause only losses in the motor winding as they do not take part in torque production. The authors propose a new space vector modulation technique named the 48-sector vector space decomposition-based space vector pulse-width modulation (C6 SVPWM48) technique, which has been verified using MATLAB (Matrix Laboratory) simulation and reported by the authors in the previous work, and the work is extended in this paper. This paper presents a contribution to compare the proposed technique with the 12-sector vector space decomposition-based space vector pulse-width modulation (C6 SVPWM12) based on CMV (Common mode voltage) , switching loss of the inverter, torque ripple, and stator current distortion. The C6 SVPWM48 technique has been implemented experimentally on the SPTLVSI fed a prototype of 200 V, 2 kW SPAIM. The C6 SVPWM48 technique is controlled using the ARM cortex M4 32-bit microcontroller (STM32F407VGT6) and the SPTLVSI during steady-state and dynamic operating conditions. The experimental results of the C6 SVPWM48 technique are discussed and presented. Furthermore, it reduces the harmonic current drawn by the machine to a large extent, consequently, the copper losses of the machine and also reducing the average switching loss.

Abstract:The interest in multi-phase (number of phase higher than three) machines for high performance applications has been growing in recent years due to their potential advantages over three-phase machines. This paper presents an approach to implement sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) in a multi-phase inverter. A universal multi-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) is constructed, which is based on a digital experimental platform controlled by DSP and FPGA. SPWM technique is chosen and realized in this multi-phase VSI. The mathematical model of nine-phase concentrated winding induction machine is indicated and the proposed SPWM scheme is tested on this nine-phase concentrated winding AC induction machine. The experiment results show that the SPWM VSI discussed in this paper benefits from its simplicity and flexibility for a multi-phase induction motor drive system.

Abstract:The six-phase induction machine (SPIM) has two sets of three-phase stator windings spatially shifted by 30 electrical degrees. It has many advantages, such as reducing the torque pulsations, enhancing the power handling capability. The matrix converter (MC) is a very promising converter, which has the following characteristics: operation with unity power factor, bidirectional power flow. In this paper, six-phase induction motor driven by the six-phase matrix converter has been proposed. It can combine the advantage of the SPIM and the MC. A direct modulation algorithm is presented. The control system can realize bidirectional power flow and the unity power factor. Simulation results have tested the performances of the proposed method.

Abstract:Due to the low DC voltage utilization and small output torque of the multiphase induction motors with sinusoidal output voltage,the non-sinusoidal space vector pulse width modulation (PWM),NSVPWM,is modeled and the inter connection between NSVPWM and harmonic injection PWM is analyzed.The way how to decide the reference voltage vectors on d-q planes is introduced.A nine-phase concentrated winding induction machine is used as a practical example.By maintaining the amplitudes of the tooth flux density and yoke flux density as well as the stator copper loss,the output torques under three control strategies are compared.The experiment results show that the output torque of the ninephase concentrated winding induction machine with NSVPWM is over 6.42% than that with SPWM,and the reasons are given.
An Improved 24-Sector SVPWM for Six-Phase Induction Motor

Abstract:The six-phase induction motor becomes widely used in drive systems because of its better torque production per ampere, lower torque ripple and higher reliability. In this paper, analysis of the most effective space vector pulse-width modulation (SVPWM) strategy is carried out, indicating that the switching frequency can be further decreased to reduce the switching loss and to extend the lifetime of devices. Then, a new SVPWM strategy with lower switching frequency is proposed by modifying the choice of voltage vectors. Finally, a comparison between the proposed SVPWM strategy and the traditional ones is carried out. The results show that the proposed strategy can not only reduce switching loss, but it can also provide low harmonic distortion factor (HDF) and low current total harmonic distortion.

Abstract:For dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-PMSM)control system, with two sets of Y-connected windings phase shifted by 30 electrical degrees, if the mutual inductances of the winding can be negligible by the design of motor, the control system can be treated as two sets of three-phase sub-control system for analysis. So according to the modeling of conventional three-phase half-bridge topology motor, the mathematic model of three-phase four-leg topology control system can be established. Also on the basis of the three-phase half-bridge space vector pulse modulation (SVPWM), the new three-dimensional space vector PWM can be proposed. At last, two fault-tolerant control methods are proposed to deal with one-phase-open condition, and the simulation results are given to prove the control strategy.

Abstract:With the development of computer control technology and power electronics, six-phase induction motor control system has been widely used in industrial area due to its advantages. Through the study of single-phase induction motor SVPWM control technology, combined with the six-phase induction motor winding structure, a novel six-phase induction motor SVPWM control strategy is proposed and the third harmonic is injected in the system. The six-phase induction motor was injected into the 10% and 20% third harmonic, by detecting the output current and the harmonic content, the relationship between each other is analyzed. Finally the whole six-phase induction motor control system is realized.

Abstract:The six-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is designed with two sets of Y-connected windings phase shifted by 30 electrical degrees. Two mathematic models of six-phase PMSM are established by different methods, which are based on dual d-q transformation and decoupling vector space respectively. By the dual d-q transformation, the electromagnetic torque is calculated based on the two sets of Y-connected windings separately. By the decoupling vector transformation, extra vector subspace is established, in which the current components have no effect on the electromagnetic torque. According to the different models, two vector control systems for six-phase PMSM are presented. The relationship and equivalence of the two control methods are indicated through comparison analysis and open-loop simulation. And the closed-loop simulation and experiment results show that the two methods have consistent control performance.

Abstract:A dual Y shift 30 degree permanent magnet synchronous motor( PMSM) is basically a strong coupledsix-dimensional system. In order to simplify the control of the motor,vector space decomposition transformation is used to map the motor vectors into three two-dimensional orthogonal sub-planes,then space vector PWM technique can be used to control the torque and stator harmonic current at the same time. On the basis of this PWM technique,a detailed study of the selection and distribution of zero vectors in continuous modulation and discontinuous modulation is presented in this paper. The simulation results show that a smaller torque ripple can be received by using the continuous modulation,while the number of switching times can be significantly reduced and less stator current harmonic content can be received by using the discontinuous modulation.

Abstract:This paper presents a 24-sector space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) technique for the control of shifted 30 degrees dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The motor is divided into three subspaces by using vector space decomposition method. The principle of voltage vectors selection and the method of time calculation are discussed as well as a vector control system based on the modulation strategy for dual three-phase PMSM is built. Then the simulation and experimental research has been implemented. Results show that the harmonic components in z1-z2 subspace can be effectively restrained and the output torque ripple of the motor can be decreased adopting 24-sector SVPWM technique. After that, the effectiveness of the modulation strategy is further validated by experimental results.

Abstract:Since multiphase machines have more additional degree of freedom than three-phase machine, which can be utilized to control other machines, a number of machines can be controlled independently. The stator windings of the machines can be series connected by an appropriate phase transposition, with the supply coming from a single multiphase inverter. This paper proposed a novel series-connected system, composed of two dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), one two-phase PMSM and a seven-phase voltage source inverter (VSI) and controlled using space vector PWM. In such a way, independent control of the three series-connected PMSMs is achieved. The simulation results indicated that three machines can operate independently while taking three different loads, supplied from the same seven-phase inverter.

Abstract:In the motor drive system fed by multilevel inverter, the problems such as the complexity of reference voltage synthesis, high common mode voltage (CMV), and high switching loss are usually the obstacles to the practical application. In order to reduce the computational complexity and improve the performance of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), a novel space vector pulsewidth modulation scheme, which is practical and independent of level number is proposed for PMSM vector control. First, the space vector plane is redivided, and the coordinates of the nearest three vectors and their duty cycles can be obtained directly by determining the location of reference vector, which simplifies the calculation and does not need any iterative algorithm. Then, the optimal switching state and switching sequence are selected online so as to ensure the minimum switching loss under the premise of minimum CMV. This article provides an original method and new idea for motor drive system fed by multilevel inverter. Finally, the practicability and validity of the proposed method are verified by simulation and experiment.
