A clinical analysis of treatment methods of aged patients with distal radial fractures

Abstract:Objective To determine the clinical effect of the aged with Distal Radial Fractures through analysis of different treatment Methods.Methods Sixty-eight patients were treated with manual reduction plaster immobilization or external fixation brace,20 with external fixator combined with closed reduction,and 14 with T-plate internal fixation.Results Averaged follow-up was 12 months.According to the Anderson criteria,the excellent rate of functional outcome was 90% for external fixator,77.9% for plaster immobilization or external fixation brace and 78.6% for T-plate internal fixation.Conclusion In treatment of the aged with Distal Radial Fractures,external fixator combined with closed reduction can produce more satisfactory effects than the others.
