Asymmetric approach using two catalysts is achieved with excellent enantioselectivities to access corresponding chiral products. The transformations of Si-H bonds into Si-C, Si-O, and Si-F bonds and the synthesis of enantioriched alpha-hydroxysilane show synthetic utility.

Abstract:(E)-alpha-Selanylvinylzirconium and (E)-alpha-silylvinylzirconium complexes 2 were prepared conveniently via hydrozirconation of the alkynylselenides and the alkynylsilanes 1, respectively. Intermediates 2 were reacted with acyl chlorides 3 via Zr-Cu transmetallation with retention of the configuration to afford alpha-seleno or alpha-silyl alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones 4 in good yield.

Abstract:A highly efficient rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrosilylation of aldehydes, ketones, and alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones with dihydrosilanes is developed, that allows the rapid assembly of a variety of Si-stereogenic alkoxysilanes and silyl enol ethers in good yields and enantioselectivities under mild conditions. The applicability of this methodology was demonstrated by a series of stereospecific transformations to construct diverse Si-stereogenic derivatives.

Abstract:A highly regio- and enantioselective cobalt-catalyzed sequential hydrosilylation/hydrogenation of alkynes was developed to afford chiral silanes. This one-pot method is operationally simple and atom economic. It makes use of relatively simple and readily available starting materials, namely alkynes, silanes, and hydrogen gas, to construct more valuable chiral silanes. Primary mechanistic studies demonstrated that highly regioselective hydrosilylation of alkynes with silanes occurred as a first step, and the subsequent cobaltcatalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of the resulting vinylsilanes showed good enantioselectivity.
