Abstract:On the basis of electro-hydraulic servo system of pipe expanding process,the nonlinear characteristics of cylinder actuated with asymmetry valve was analyzed.Then a nonlinear model was provided to represent the actual system.A nonlinear control approach with subset stabilization approach was put forward.Simulation and actual control results show that the proposed algorithm has better response performance than that of conventional PID control.This method is a new way for engineering applications.

Abstract:Aerial work platform leveling system is a complicated nonlinear system working under very complex conditions and suffering from much interference.The integrated CMAC(Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller) and PID(Proportion,Integral,and Derivative) control strategy based on disturbance observer and RC(Resistance Capacitance) low-pass filter was presented.For a certain 54m aerial work platform electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system,the AMESim(Advanced Modeling Environment for Performing Simulations of Engineering Systems) was taken as the main simulation environment;the controller model was imported into AMESim by software interfaces.Simulation results show that compared with the CMAC and traditional PID combined control method and PID control,the modified combined controller has better adaptability and higher robustness for mathematic model change or system load disturbance.In addition,the controller can well track the given signal at any phase.

Abstract:The nonlinearities of the electronic throttle is discussed and its model has been established. A variable structure controller and observer are designed by using the sliding mode variable structure control theory. Simulation and experimentation results show that the actual angle value tracks the command angle very well.

Abstract:Compared with the traditional hydraulic regulating speed system,variable-frequency regulating speed technology,applied in hydraulic system,brings more advantages.A variable-frequency regulating hydraulic simulative system was designed based on Matlab/Simulink.The simulation emphasis focused on the vector control regulating speed system of asynchronous motor.Simulation curves show that using the closed-loop vector control method,the system has better dynamic performance.

Abstract:To guarantee the quality and reliability of large aircraft components alignment,the dynamic model of alignment mechanism was constructed and the whole alignment process was simulated.According to characteristics of pose alignment mechanism,support bars of 3D actuators were considered to be flexible bodies,and the dynamic model of pose alignment system was established by utilizing Lagrange equation,virtual work theory and Lagrange multipliers method.Through numerical solution,the joint reaction forces of aircraft component and supporting poles were acquired.Simulation example was presented to demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of proposed dynamic model.In addition,this dynamic model also provided powerful basis for the automatic control of posture alignment process.

Abstract:This paper presented the design of controller for aerial work platform electro-hydraulic proportional leveling system.First,established the operation organization multi-body dynamic model by using ADAMS;designed the hydraulic model by using AMESim;then,presented the closed-loop controller using the improved generalized predictive adaptive control through MATLAB\Simulink.Took the AMESim as the main simulation environment,imported the multi-body dynamic model and controller model into AMESim by software interfaces.Simulation results prove that comparing with the conventional PID controller the closed-loop controller has better dynamic performance,as well as better adaptability and higher robustness while the mathema-tic model or the system load disturbance.
Sliding mode control of trajectory tracking for underactuated aerostat

Abstract:An adaptive sliding mode control method was presented for the trajectory tracking problem of the fin-less underactuated aerostat driven by two propellers considering the actuators saturation, the unknown parts of the system and wind disturbance.A three-degree-of-freedom dynamic model of the aerostat was constructed.Then the inner and outer loop control laws were designed.The outer loop was used for arranging the transient dynamics of the trajectory and setting the differential signal.A virtual trajectory was designed and acted as the target signal.The control law presented in the inner loop was developed by introducing a first-order sliding surface in terms of forward speed tracking errors and a second-order sliding surface in terms of lateral motion tracking errors.The thrust and moment of aerostat can be calculated.An adaptive sliding mode controller was developed to estimate and compensate the upper layer of disturbance in order to reduce the chattering of actuators and increase the ability to resistance disturbance.The effectiveness and robustness of the control method were demonstrated by computer simulation with the aerostat designed by Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Abstract:The performance of the flap actuation system directly affects the control effect and the flight quality of an aircraft. The electromechanical actuator (EMA) and the linkage mechanism are important components of the system. In order to achieve the goals of good transmission accuracy and dynamic response, the influence of nonlinear properties in the transmission chain including the EMA and linkage mechanism should be considered. A co-simulation model at the system-level of the flap actuation system was developed, which takes nonlinear factors of the EMA, the impact dynamics of the linkage mechanism with joint clearance and the rigid–flexible coupling characteristics into account. Moreover, the experiments with different command frequencies and loads were performed. The simulation and experimental results were compared to verify the effectiveness of the co-simulation model. Finally, the effects of nonlinear properties including the contact stiffness and clearance of a planetary roller screw mechanism, EMA anchorage stiffness, number of clearance joints, flexibility and load are discussed. This work can contribute to analyzing the performance of an electromechanical multibody system with nonlinear characteristics, which has crucial academic meaning and engineering application values for the development of systems with high speed, good reliability and long life.

Abstract:By modeling,simulation and analysis on the pitch serial actuator servo control system in helicopter,it was studied that how the servo control system behaved on various conditions and how the dual control systems worked balanced through an equalizer. The results were applied to the design of the similar serial electric servo systems of one helicopter. The model can be treated as reference model of servo system for monitoring in-flight. It is beneficial to applications in practice.

Abstract:The mathematical model was studied by mechanical analysis and CFD(computing fluid dynamics) computation.Besides,an intelligent adaptive based control law was proposed and the optimization approach is employed to solve the constrained control allocation problem.The results show good closed loop performance and validate the intelligent optimization approach of constrained control allocation for flight control.

Abstract:How MATLAB, Simulink and stateflow can be used to design and realize a simulation platform for UAV multi-mode flight control system is presented. The simulation platform includes nonlinear dynamic model of UAV, control system and environment model which is to make the simulation more similar to the real flight environment. The environment model consists of wind shear submodel, atmosphere submodel and gravity submodel. In accordance with the design philosophy of navigation level, flight modes are regarded as different states in the finite state machine module which is for the logic control. The control module is divided into two subsystems which are longitudinal control subsystem and lateral control subsystem. In this way, the disturbance caused by the switch among different modes which share the same control law can be avoided. The simulation result demonstrates the validity of the stateflow based simulation platform of UAV multi-mode flight control.

Abstract:A novel universal simulation model of hydraulic six-degree of freedom parallel mechanism was presented,in which the hydraulic actuator servo system was built in the AMESim,and the parallel mechanism part was built in the Simulink.In the AMESim model,the equivalent load of hydraulic actuator is from the Simulink model instead of equivalent mass.The combined simulation model takes the details of hydraulic system into consideration to ensure the accuracy,and provides a convenient research technique for hydraulic parallel mechanism.The coupling characteristic of the parallel mechanism was studied through analyzing the dynamic consistency of six actuators using the simulation model.The results show that coupling phenomena appear when the frequency responses of the six actuators were different,and the coupling becomes stronger when the difference among the actuators increases.Thus the dynamic consistency of all actuators must be ensured during the design of parallel mechanism.

Abstract:Soft actuators are of great interests in recent years due to inherent compliance and adaptability. However, most of current studies focus on the physical actuation phenomenon and their fabrication, few results can be found on the modeling and closed-loop control due to their complicated elastic deformation. This paper studies physical modeling, parameter identification, and model-based nonlinear robust control for fluidic soft bending actuators governed by high-speed <sc xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">on–off</sc> solenoid valves. With the dynamic complexity and characteristics of fluidic soft actuators, the system has been described by two parts: motion dynamics and air dynamics. A second-order transfer function is used for the motion dynamics which describes the behavior from driving pneumatic pressure to soft actuator bending angle, and the model parameters are identified by with different operating frequencies. The nonlinear physical modeling of air dynamics which describes the behavior from control voltage to driving pneumatic pressure is also built and its parameters are identified by using the least square method. Based on the identified high-order model, a nonlinear robust control algorithm is developed for soft actuator by backstepping design to deal with nonlinearities and uncertainties. Experimental results show that the closed-loop stability is guaranteed and the good tracking performance is achieved by the proposed method.
Dynamic Modelling Using Screw Theory And Nonlinear Sliding Mode Control Of Serial Robot

Abstract:This paper presents a novel method towards the dynamic modelling of serial robot by combining screw theory and Kane's equations, which can simplify the dynamic analysis of the system, reduce the workload of calculation and make the process smooth. The kinematic pair screw and body Jacobian of rigid body have been introduced. Then a novel partial velocity and partial velocity twist matrix according to screw theory are given respectively. In the following, the Kane's dynamic equations based on screw theory of serial robot have been deduced. To verify the convenience of the proposed method, an example of the dynamic modelling is illustrated. After that, a nonlinear robust sliding mode controller is designed to promote the tracking performance with considering system uncertainties and modelling errors. To enlarge the small error and avoid the accumulation of large error, a new nonlinear integral slide surface is proposed, along with a saturation function instead of switch function to eliminate the chattering. Then the stability analysis of the proposed sliding mode controller for the system is performed by using Lyapunov stability theory. Finally, comparative experiments are given to demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:Based on nonlinear decentralized theory,a nonlinear decentralized controller was designed for the pose stabilization of X-Cell50 helicopter in vertical flight.This simple-structured and easy-to-realized controller does not require the precise math model,however,the integral action included in it compensates unknown factors of plant.Simulations compared with sliding mode control,show that the proposed control system overcomes the disadvantage of sliding mode control just as chattering phenomenon and steady-state error.It is important that the excellent robust performance withstanding the outside disturbances and dynamical uncertainties is obtained by using the nonlinear decentralized controller.

Abstract:In order to do a sufficient validation and analysis of the dynamic model of a 6-DOF parallel manipulator and improve the efficiency of the dynamic model and analysis,two computer-aided methods for dynamic modelling in a Simulink environment and SimMechanics environment were proposed.The 6-DOF parallel manipulator was described as a single rigid body using the Kane method to establish the single rigid body dynamic model along with the joint space control law to design a classic proportional-integral-derivative(PID) controller,and the simulation was carried out in Simulink and SimMechanics.The dynamic responses of the 6-DOF parallel manipulator in the two kinds of simulation environment are completely consistent,which proves that both of the two dynamic models using Simulink and SimMechanics are correct.Moreover,the proposed method can also be applied to all mechanical systems for dynamics modelling and analysis.

Abstract:Flight simulation is a necessary process in designing of flight control laws, so develop a convenient and low cost flight simulator is very important and meaningful, especially in the early design stage of control law design. This paper develops a real time visualization flight simulator based on Matlab/Flightgear/Atlas, and uses nonlinear dynamic inversion method combined with flight quality requirements to design flight control laws for a supermaneuverable aircraft. It puts forward the cobra maneuver simulation on the flight simulator at last. The simulation results show that the control laws perform excellently not only at the normal flight envelope but also at high angle of attack and validate the feasibility of the flight simulator. © 2012 Chinese Assoc of Automati.

Abstract:Unmanned aerial fighting platform is of vital importance in future war. Tailless Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (TUAV) not only has the ability of stealth, but also has good maneuverability. In order to realize super maneuverability and reconfigurable ability, the description of the flight state of TUAV, which depends on the syncretic control technology of aerodynamics control flips and thrust vector, is necessary for the research. In this paper, the six-degree-of-freedom (6DOF) mathematical model of a TUAV was established on the basis of theoretical analysis. Since the aircraft mathematical model with rigid body characteristics and aerodynamics data are not dealt with linearly, the established model not only reflects roundly the practice characteristics of TUAV, but also takes on general quality. At last, the flight digital simulator was developed under the environment of MATLAB7.0/Simulink. As a result, the model and simulator are validated by the digital simulation.

Abstract:A flight control simulation system of a civil aircraft is developed. We model aircraft dynamics system, design the control law of longitudinal and lateral channels in MATLAB, develop a mini flight control computer which is used for control law validation and installed on a scaled civil aircraft for flight test. Eventually hardware-in-the-loop simulation is accomplished. Simulation results show that the system has a good performance and it can used to guide flight experiment on the flight vehicle. © 2012 by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. Abstract:Purpose The purpose of this paper is to study the general actuator modeling in spacecraft attitude control systems. Design/methodology/approach The proposed module in this paper provides various non-ideal factors such as the second-order dynamic time response, time-delay, bias torques, dead-zones and saturation. The actuator module can make the simulation as close to the practical situation as possible. Findings This paper presents a practical integrated module for the simulation of attitude control algorithms. Based on theoretical modeling, we give simulation modules and numerical examples. The proposed model can be directly used in spacecraft control simulation. Instead of considering only a few of them, it makes the simulation more convincing. Though it may not be perfect, it is better than totally ignoring the actuator dynamics. Originality/value The authors provide an integrated actuator model for spacecraft attitude control simulation, considering as many nonlinear factors as possible once time.
