Abstract:Guihutang is a branch of Songyuanxia. It’s an ancient Hakka village located in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. Ancestor Chen Shouhua, who is the fourth generation of ancestor Chen Zhenneng of Songyuanxia, migrated to this place from Songyuanxia in the mid-19th Century. Guihutang has repopulated the earth for nine generations now. From five aspects of the history, agriculture, wai village, old-style private school and blockhouse, oversea Chinese, the paper gives comprehensive and detailed introduction to Guihutang.

Abstract:Tenant/servant practice is a kind of personal attachment system among the people during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It was especially popular in Huizhou district in the south of Anhui province, thus, tenant/servant system is an important question for study in Huizhou research. The first part of this paper reviews the major achievements in this field from the 1960s to this day. Their basic standpoints are introduced one by one in time sequence, and commented through comparison. The author divides the total research process into three parts: research framework construction period (1960, 1977-1981); academic divergence discussion period (1981-1990); new thinking entrance period (1983 up to now). The latter part of this paper summarizes the academic divergence on tenant/servant system research into three discussion topics: 1. which social stratum do tenant/servants belong to? 2. what is the chief cause in the shaping of tenant/servants? 3. what is the difference between tenant/servant and other similar names? Through these three topics, the author has a clear flow of presenting the train of thought on this research topic.

Abstract:Based on the analysis of HCI research articles in MIS discipline from the major journals of MIS in China during 1990 and 2006,this study delineates the intellectual development of HCI research in China.Research topics, research method,reference disciplines,level of analysis,research context,and individual characteristics of these HCI research articles are analyzed and compared with that of the international HCI research.The result shows the deficiency of Chinese HCI study in research topics,research method and research context.After that,several advices are given to the researchers of China for further research.

Abstract:With the development of Huizhou studies and its medical history becoming a new growth area of Chinese historiography, the medical social history in Huizhou has been a focus in academic fields, and a series of research achievements have been reported. However, as far as the current research is concerned, some problems and deficiencies are still there, such as the lack of attention to the life of individuals; insufficient attention to the integration of "internal history" and "external history" of Xin'an medicine; and few comparative studies of medical history between Huizhou and other regions. In this sense, future research should be expected to focus on Huizhou medical social history, to present the daily medical world of Huizhou "people", to explore the core of Xin'an medical knowledge, and to understand the relationship between medicine and region by comparison.
The Summary of Studies on Yu Hua in the Recent Twenty Years

Abstract:From the first research paper "the January Fresh Wind" on Yu Hua to May,2007,the research work on Yu Hua has developed for 23 years.Up to the present,the studies are launched form five aspects: First,in the aspect of the writer's literature view,the "spirit of truth" which Yu Hua advocates and the departure of his novels from the present situation by "the false form" are the main issues.Second,it is difficult to reach a consensus on the vanguard of the "pioneer spirit" and creative transformation.Third,in his novels' performance world,the critics have discovered several key words: violence,death,misery,desire.Fourth,in the research of the text form,the researchers constantly describe the works by narration language,the genre subversion,the repetition narrates,and such studies show "thinning" tendency.Fifth,in the impact of local and foreign levels,Lu Xun,Kawabata and Kafka are undoubtedly the objects which researchers are ready to compare with Yu Hua.

Abstract:The role of urban china research has been the subject of popular topic in recent urban studies overseas. This paper examines the academic research on urban China. It begins with a discussion of the background and overview of main research fields about urban China research. It is argued that although current overseas studies on urban China have improved Chinese relative research theories and methods, they have their own drawbacks. This paper proposes the further considerations: the context of China studies and right to have a voice in the international research field, the cooperation between civil and abroad scholars and the practicality of the abroad research, which aim to sustain the urban China studies.

Abstract:Studies on overseas Chinese and their ethnic groups in Mainland China started in late Qing Dynasty,developed in the Republic of China,halted in 1950s and 1960s since all the international studies had been restricted,and revived after the reform and opening up policy launched in China.Since China adopted the policy of reform and opening up in 1978,the studies of overseas Chinese and their ethnic groups have displayed characteristics such as multidisciplinary approach,combing micro-and macro-researches,and internationalization.However,on the whole,there is still a lack of creativity,the scarcity of first-hand data,simple replication at a low academic level and so on.These problems were caused partly by the lack of academic training,poor research conditions,and the attitude of some researchers who are too eager for quick success and instant benefit.If the weakness above could be overcome,Chinese scholars would make a greater contribution to the research of new Chinese migrants,ethnic Chinese identities,and integration of and the international relations among Chinese groups in the world.

Abstract:In this paper, the origin of the Hui people in China is researched, the formation history of the Hui people is stated in detail, the development and evolution of the Hui people are described in detail, and the origin, formation, development and evolution history of the Hui people are divided into six stages, and the characteristics of each stage are analyzed in detail. It is pointed out that the origin of Hui nationality originates from the opening of China’s Silk Road, the needs of Sino-foreign economic and trade development, and China’s political integrity, economic prosperity, cultural prosperity, national prosperity and people’s security are closely related. The formation of Hui in China has the great attraction of Sui, Tang and Song dynasties, and is closely related to the expansion, wars and killings of Islam in the Arab Empire and the plunder, capture and recruitment of soldiers in the Mongolian and Yuan Dynasties. The formation of the Hui people and the essence of its development and growth are the fundamental way for the eastern Muslims to settle and grow in China and absorb the blood of Han Chinese, Mongolians, Uyghurs, Jews and other ethnic groups.
