Value and Reliability of Sixteen Slice Spiral CT in the Diagnosis of Coronary Artery Stenosis

Abstract:Objective: To compare the value and reliability in the diagnosis of coronary artery stenosis between sixteen slice spiral CT coronary angiography and conventional selective coronary angiography(SCA).Method: 56 cases with suspected coronary heart disease (CHD) were consecutively analyzed using 16 slice spiral CT and SCA. Every segment of the coronary artery was compared. The sensitivity,specificity,positive and negative predictive value were measured. Results: The sensitivity, specificity , positive and negative predictive value to identify mild, medium and severe stenosis with sixteen slice spiral CT coronary angiography were 88.89%、98.09%、84.21% 、98.72%,94.59%、99.97%、87.50%、99.59%,92.50%、97.52%、75.51%、99.37%.Conclusion: The sensitivity,specificity ,positive and negative predictive value of 16-slice spiral CT coronary angiography can meet the needs of clinical requirement. It had great value in the screening for suspected coronary artery disease and for pre- and post- operative examination.
