Abstract:Due to more nad more expanding data in information progress,CALS is introduced.This paper describes the theoretical studies and practical applications of CALS in terms of CALS background,development,characteristics,economic benefits,research status,standards implementation technology and so on.The results show that CALS lacks in domestic manufacturing applications.Finally,the feasibility of CALS in domestic implement aspects is analyzed and some ways for its further development are proposed.

Abstract:The translation and research of Chinese foreign literature have a rich and distinguished history that spans over a century, yielding numerous and substantial achievements. These research outcomes for thoroughly synthesized and scientific analyses can provide authoritative and accurate guidance for foreign literature translation and research, highlighting the significance of the China Foreign Literature Studies Index (CFLSI) database. This article focuses on three issues encountered in database development. 1) An examination of the limitations of existing public network resources based on the unique nature of the foreign literature discipline, thereby establishing the necessity for the creation of a discipline-specific database; 2) An exploration of the composition, functional design, and implementation approaches of the CFLSI database in response to the requirements of foreign literature researchers; 3) The establishment of the database framework and development technology of the system aligned with the data composition and functional design. The creation of the CFLSI database represents an exploration and application to merge digital technology with a comprehensive understanding of the foreign literature discipline.

Abstract:As one of the national projects of China's 11th Five-year Program, CALIS faced great chal enges:building standardized, low-cost, adaptive, scalable digital library platform enabled with interoperability for nearly 2000 member libraries in China. With the development of cloud computing technology, CALIS proposed total solutions which is based on cloud computing technologies, and built multi-cloud service platforms including CALIS National Central Platform, Regional Platform and Local Platform. This paper gives a technical overview of China Academic Digital Library Information System including the CALIS cloud service platform, unified authentication system, resource exchange and processing system, resources and services integration system, resource discovery and access system, as wel as consulting and training system.

Abstract:The development of modem science requires the equipment grid to provide a scientific collaboration research platform, which can realize remote collaboration and sharing with the key instruments and equipment in wide areas. The reliability and high efficiency of a grid service chain model are key points in creation of a grid equipment system. The pi-calculus as powerful process algebra has a specific advantage in modeling and testing the grid service chain model. This research investigates and improves a theoretical analysis and algorithm framework for the modeling, correctness checking and analysis of the pi-calculus based equipment grid service chain model. It also studies on the analysis of its logistic structure and flexible modeling for the equipment grid. It would be beneficial to open up a new space in the theoretical and applied research on grid technology and formal methodology based on cross-disciplinary cooperation.

Abstract:Subject services are hot issues in domestic university libraries in recent years. To improve the overal level of subject services and enhance the abilities of librarians in domestic academic libraries, CALIS Phase III Program established a subproject"Librarian literacy training and certification."Through scientific planning and strict guidance, this subproject achieved obvious results both in raising the abilities of librarians and in innovating the model of systematic training for the librarians of academic libraries. The paper firstly reviews the development of the subject services in academic libraries at home and abroad, then mainly describes the implementation of the subproject and its achievement, and final y suggests some prospects for subject services and librarian training on the next stage of CALIS Program.

The main reason for its success is that it has effective project management, and pays more at ention to the co-constructing and integration of resources during resources sharing. Abstract:Cloud computing has been applied in many fields at home and abroad as a rapidly developing new information technology. This paper introduces cloud computing which is applied in digital libraries, analyzes current situation and existing problems of the cloud computing in digital library .On this basis, on the combination of cloud computing, SaaS, web2.0, SOA and other technologies, this paper proposes a CALIS-based cloud service strategy and the corresponding cloud library services platform (i.e. Nebula platform) model. The model is suitable for constructing large-scale distributed network of public digital library services. All library resources and service distributed on the Internet can be integrated as a whole, which forms a new type of adaptive control service system supporting interlibrary collaboration and service access, as well sharing resources from different libraries.

Abstract:With the development of the technology in medical informatics area, Health Level Seven (HL7) Standard for electronic data exchange in all healthcare environments has become a widely used standard. To bring it into practice in China, we developed an HL7 gateway. The gateway is used to connect two different medical information systems, a Hospital Information System (HIS) and a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), via the HL7 message exchanging. The system verified the feasibility of HL7 standard and made a good example for further research and development.

Abstract:Shanghai Jiao Tong University Library took charge of "Librarian Literacy Training and Qualification Certification",an important project of CALIS Phase III construction.On the basis of the completion of four subject librarian training seminars,the design concept and content of training system for subject librarian are discussed,including training targets,training methods,course content,assessment methods,organization and management mechanism.All these formed a set of systematic,complete,practical and effective subject librarian training system.Then,integrated the practice of CALIS subject librarian training,the distinguishing features and some important issues for the program were summarized.
