Scientometric Study on Library and Information Science Research Productivity in China Based on Web of Science

Abstract:Based on the bibliometrics methods,this paper analyzed 2482 papers included in WoS database in the field of LIS(Library and Information Science) in China,from many aspects as amount,authors,areas,organizations,source journals and subjects.The results show that the amount of the papers is on the upward trend and now it is in a stage of rapid development.Relevant foreign researchers such as Ronald Rousseau have established friendly cooperative relationship with Chinese scholars,but the quantity and the scope of cooperation of LIS sector in China has yet to be further enhanced,either in foreign or domestic areas.Knowledge management,information retrieval,scientometrics,digital libraries,university libraries,e-commerce and e-government have become the focus theme of LIS in China.
