Abstract:The main purpose of this paper is to study the mean value properties of certain Hardy sums over a short interval by using the mean-value theorems of the Dirichlet L-functions. Our main result is a mean-value formula for these sums.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the mean value distributions of Dirichlet L-functions at positive integers. We give some explicit formulas for the mean values of products of two and three Dirichlet L-functions at positive integers weighted by Dirichlet characters that involve the Bernoulli functions and Jordan's totient functions. The results presented here are the generalizations of various known formulas.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish a quite general mean value result of arithmetic functions over short intervals with the Selberg-Delange method and give some applications. Abstract:Let q ⩾ 3 be an integer, let χ denote a Dirichlet character modulo q . For any real number a ⩾ 0 we define the generalized Dirichlet L-functions L(s,χ ,a) = ∑_n = 1^∞χ (n)/(n + a)^s , where s = σ + it with σ > 1 and t both real. They can be extended to all s by analytic continuation. In this paper we study the mean value properties of the generalized Dirichlet L -functions especially for s = 1 and s = 1/2 + i t , and obtain two sharp asymptotic formulas by using the analytic method and the theory of van der Corput.

Abstract:In this paper we obtain a mean value theorem for a general Dirichlet series $f(s)= \sum_{j=1}^\infty a_j n_j^{-s}$ with positive coefficients for which the counting function $A(x) = \sum_{n_{j}\le x}a_{j}$ satisfies $A(x)=\rho x + O(x^\beta)$ for some $\rho>0$ and $\beta<1$. We prove that $\frac1T\int_0^T |f(\sigma+it)|^2\, dt \to \sum_{j=1}^\infty a_j^2n_j^{-2\sigma}$ for $\sigma>\frac{1+\beta}{2}$ and obtain an upper bound for this moment for $\beta<\sigma\le \frac{1+\beta}{2}$. We provide a number of examples indicating the sharpness of our results.

Abstract:This paper mainly studied the distribution of values of Hardy sums involving Chebyshev polynomials. By using the method of analysis and the arithmetic properties of Hardy sums and Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind, we obtained a sharp asymptotic formula for the hybrid mean value of Hardy sums $ S_5(h, q) $ involving Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind. In addition, we also gave the value of Hardy sums $ S(h, q) $ and $ S_{3}(h, q) $ involving Chebyshev polynomials. Finally, we found the reciprocal formulas of $ S_{3}(h, q) $ and $ S_{4}(h, q) $ involving Chebyshev polynomials of the first kind.
