Abstract:Phenothiazines were heterocyclic compounds containing S and N.They possessed high pharmacological activity and used as polymerization inhibitors,antioxidants in lubricants,conductive materials and dyes.There were plenty of synthetic methods of phenothiazines. Abstract:The chemical structure and properties of pyridine and halogenated pyridine compounds were described in this paper,and especially,synthesis of some chloropyridines such as 2,3,4,5,6-pentachloropyridine,3,5,6-trichloropyridin-2-phonol and 2-chloro-5-trifluoromethylpyridine and their applications in the pesticide and pharmaceutics were introduced. Several synthesis routes and their industrialization prospect of every compound were discussed.

Abstract:Cyanamides are an important class of fine chemicals containing amino and cyano functionalities, which have been widely used for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals, health products and materials, and attracted considerable attention from both organic synthetic chemists and medicinal chemists. Great advances in the synthesis and transformations of cyanamides were made, a diversity of synthetic methods and transformations of cyanamides were developed in the past two decades. In this paper, various synthetic methods and reactions of cyanamides are introduced comprehensively, their characteristics, rules, advantages and disadvantages are also summarized and discussed for the development of new synthetic methods and reactions of cyanamides.

Abstract:Creating new insecticide lead compounds based on the design and modification of natural products is a novel process, of which chlorfenapyr is a typical successful example. Chlorfenapyr is an arylpyrrole derivative that has high biological activity, a wide insecticidal spectrum, and a unique mode of action. For decades, a series of chlorfenapyr derivatives were designed and synthesized continuously, of which many highly active insecticidal compounds were discovered sequentially. However, due to the widespread application of chlorfenapyr and its degradation properties, some adverse effects, including pest resistance and environmental toxicity, occurred. In this review, a brief history of the discovery and development of chlorfenapyr is first introduced. Then, the synthesis, structural modification, structure activity relationship, and action mechanism of arylpyrroles are summarized. However, challenges and limitations still exist, especially in regard to the connection with pest resistance and environmental toxicology, which is discussed at the end of this review. This comprehensive summary of chlorfenapyr further promotes its progress and sensible application for pest management.

Abstract:Thieno[2,3-b]pyridine derivatives are of great importance because of their remarkable biological properties.They are of chemical and pharmacological interests due to their isosterism with quinolines and isoquinolines,two important heterocycles involved in many alkaloids.Some of them have been used as herbicides,fungicides,pesticides,medicines and dyes.Three general routes have been described so far for the preparation of thieno[2,3-b]pyridine derivatives of this ring system:a)formation of the thiophene ring by cyclization of suitable substitutents of a pyridine;b)formation of the pyridine ring by cyclization of a suitable thiophene;c)condensation of unsaturated thionone derivatives.This paper reviews the advances in synthesis and applications of thieno[2,3-b]pyridine derivatives.

Abstract:Chlorophyllides can be found in photosynthetic organisms. Generally, chlorophyllides have a-, b-, c-, d-, and f-type derivatives, and all chlorophyllides have a tetrapyrrole structure with a Mg ion at the center and a fifth isocyclic pentanone. Chlorophyllide a can be synthesized from protochlorophyllide a, divinyl chlorophyllide a, or chlorophyll. In addition, chlorophyllide a can be transformed into chlorophyllide b, chlorophyllide d, or chlorophyllide f. Chlorophyllide c can be synthesized from protochlorophyllide a or divinyl protochlorophyllide a. Chlorophyllides have been extensively used in food, medicine, and pharmaceutical applications. Furthermore, chlorophyllides exhibit many biological activities, such as anti-growth, antimicrobial, antiviral, antipathogenic, and antiproliferative activity. The photosensitivity of chlorophyllides that is applied in mercury electrodes and sensors were discussed. This article is the first detailed review dedicated specifically to chlorophyllides. Thus, this review aims to describe the definition of chlorophyllides, biosynthetic routes of chlorophyllides, purification of chlorophyllides, and applications of chlorophyllides.

Abstract:Quinones represent a class of crude organic compounds ubiquitously distributed in nature. Their distinctive quinone-type structure confers upon them unique properties and applications. Quinones demonstrate significant biological activities, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, and antitumor properties. Additionally, they demonstrate noteworthy physicochemical characteristics, including excellent dyeing properties and stability. Given their diverse qualities, quinones hold significant promise for applications in industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and food production, thus garnering considerable attention in recent years. While there is a growing body of research on quinones, the existing literature falls short of providing a comprehensive review encompassing recent advancements in this field along with established knowledge. This paper offers a comprehensive review of research progress for quinones, encompassing structural classification, source synthesis, extraction methods, properties, functions, and specific applications. It serves as a reference and theoretical foundation for the further development and utilization of quinones.
