Abstract:Mixture of ion-pair reagents and zwitterions are used as mobile phase for silica C-18 column to separate common anions and organic acids, and detection by suppressed conductivity is investigated. In the study, mixture of 1 mmol/L tetrabutyl-ammonium hydroxide (as ion-pair reagent), 5 mmol/L 3-(N-morpholine)-propane-sulfonic acid (zwitterion) and 0.5 mmol/L Na2CO3 (inorganic additive) as eluent, a silica-based C-18 separator column, and suppressed conductivity detector for analysis several anions including F-, Cl-, Br-, NO2-, NO3-, pyruvate. Good linear relationship, sensitivity and reproducibility were obtained. The detection limits of these anions were 0.017, 0.014, 0.0048, 0.036, 0.16 and 0.017 mg/L respectively. The method has been applied to determine common anions and organic acids, the results are available.
