Abstract:In the new fiber carding machine,the roller is a key component which determines the success or failure of the equipment.By analyzing the roller′s supporting form,structure characteristic,motion law,the sinusoidal in the axial stress and torsional loads are simplified to constant axial compression and torsional loads,and the mechanical model of the roller is obtained.The deflection and internal stress formulas are derived and studied using non-moment theory of cylindrical shells,and the minimum thickness under constraint of deflection,stability and strength is obtained,and the conclusion of the reinforcement is not necessary is indicated.The practices indicate that the analysis is correct and efficient,and it has reference significance for similar component design.

Abstract:Given that the disassembly speed of the body of the telescopic belt conveyor operated in an underground coal mine couldn’t keep consistent with the advancing speed of the working face, a telescopic system specially for the belt conveyor was designed. Then a detailed comparison of the merits and demerits and a force analysis of different telescopic systems were made in this paper. Lastly, a conveyor belt-oriented friction-type traction device was invented for specific working conditions. And the traction device is characterized by strong adaptability and high working efficiency and could retract and extend the telescopic part continuously and automatically, which provided an effective technical solution to facilitate the intelligent and efficient development of the modern mine.

Abstract:The invention relates to mechanical conveying chains, in particular to a right-angle transfer transition chain. The right-angle transfer transition chain is characterized by being formed by a plurality of dual-layer composite roller chain sections in a series connection mode, each dual-layer composite roller chain section comprises a long hinge pin and a short hinge pin which are arranged abreast in a front and back mode, two hinge pins are respectively sleeved with two chain wheel rollers to form the left pair of chain wheel rollers and the right pair of chain rollers, and inner chain pieces are installed on the left side and the right side of each pair of chain wheel rollers. A middle chain piece is installed between two inner chain pieces close to each other, and the outer sides of the other two inner chain pieces are respectively provided with an accumulation roller supporting chain piece, the top of one of the two accumulation roller supporting chain pieces is provided with a front folding plate, the top of the other accumulation roller supporting chain piece is provided with a rear bending plate, the front bending plate and the rear bending plate are respectively provided with a hinge pin hole, and a hinge pin is installed in the hinge pin holes in a penetrating mode and is provided with an accumulation roller. The right-angle transfer transition chain solves the problem that the workpiece right-angle transfer technology is complex in action, working efficiency is low, and equipment maintenance cost is high. The right-angle transfer transition chain is mainly used on an industrial production line for right-angle transfer of workpieces at the same height.

Abstract:An unpowered material bag channel changing device of a belt conveyor comprises a rotary roller support, a plurality of rotary rollers, a rotary roller support vertical column and a frame seat. A packing material bag is driven along a conveying belt on the belt conveyor, when the packing material bag touches the rotary rollers, the rotary rollers are enabled to sequentially rotate by conveying inertia force of the belt conveyor, the packing material bag is driven to move along preset angle and direction of the rotary roller support and the rotary rollers till the packing material bag slides into a channel changing slide rail to change into other moving tracks, and accordingly channel changing driving of the packing material bag is completed. To sum up, the unpowered material bag channel changing device of the belt conveyor is simple in structure, practical, low in fault rate and needless of extra power, and automatic channel changing of the packing material bag can be realized by the conveying inertia force of the belt conveyor.

Abstract:In this paper, in order to reduce the indentation rolling resistance of a belt conveyor and improve its operation efficiency, the indentation rolling resistance of a belt conveyor is studied. Firstly, the theoretical calculation of the indentation rolling resistance caused by the contact between a conveyor belt and an idler is studied. Additionally, the expression of the indentation rolling resistance including the multi-element Maxwell relaxation modulus is simplified and deduced using the assumption of small deformation, and the steps of iterative calculation of the indentation rolling resistance through setting the initial values are designed. Then, the multi-component Maxwell relaxation modulus function of the conveyor belt tested in the previous work of the authors is substituted into COMSOL 5.6 finite element software, and the stress distribution caused by the contact between the conveyor belt and the idler under different working conditions is analyzed. Also, a series of measures to reduce the indentation rolling resistance are found through the laws presented by the simulation results. Finally, the experimental study of the indentation rolling resistance is carried out using the indentation rolling resistance testing device from our research group. By comparing the experimental results for the indentation rolling resistance under different working conditions with the theoretical calculation results for the indentation rolling resistance, it was found that the relative error was less than 13%, which proved the feasibility of the indentation rolling resistance and relaxation modulus testing method, as well as the theoretical calculation method for indentation rolling resistance.

Abstract:The indentation rolling resistance of conveyor belts is an important design consideration for long belt conveyors and can also be important for heavily loaded belt conveyors. Indentation rolling resistance is dependent on the properties of the conveyor belt, including the carcass and bottom cover as well as properties of the belt conveyor including induced loads, belt speed, ambient temperature and idler roll diameter. A purpose built laboratory test facility is described to measure the indentation rolling resistance of conveyor belts. The test facility is designed to accept both fabric and steel cord belts and test over a range of typical operating parameters and conditions. Results are presented for a range of test parameters, including; load, belt speed, idler roll diameter, ambient temperature and bottom cover compound. Application of the test data to conveyor design is also presented with the aim being to show how the test facility can be used to improve the accuracy of conveyor belt tension calculations by more accurately evaluating the performance of different rubber compounds and belt constructions.

Abstract:As an important transportation equipment, belt conveyor plays an important role in underground coal mine production and is an indispensable component. In this article, taking the intermediate drive belt conveyor of Shanxi Tongmei Group Tongxin Mine as an example, the continuous dynamic method is adopted to comprehensively consider the non-uniform load distribution of the belt conveyor, and mathematical modeling of the intermediate drive belt conveyor is performed. The dynamic characteristics of the conveyor belt are analyzed. The MATLAB software is used to analyze the change of the conveyor belt tension under different starting accelerations. Based on the analysis results, the starting acceleration is optimized, and the new combined parabolic acceleration curve presented here is more suitable for the actual working condition of the belt conveyor. In this article, the startup timing of the head and middle motors of the belt conveyor is also discussed in depth. The start timing design of the belt conveyor is described, which provides a reference for the design of the belt conveyor with an intermediate drive.

Abstract:At transfer points for bulk materials, transfer chutes are required between two belt conveyors. Depending on the conveyed bulk material, these chute systems often cause wear, caking, and poor material handling. Wear occurs both on the chute walls and on the downstream conveyor belt. Caking on the chute walls is oftencaused by the cohesive fine-grained particles of the bulk material. Especially wet bulk material can lead to clogging of the chutes. Bulk material handling is ideal when the bulk material is loaded centrally onto the downstream conveyor. Furthermore, feeding in conveying direction of the downstream belt conveyor and a material deflection by the chute with minimum wear are also required for ideal bulk material handling. At the "Chair of Mining Engineering and Mineral Economics-Conveying Technology and Design Methods" in cooperation with the companies ScrapeTec Trading GmbH, ScrapeTec GmbH and WanggoGummitechnik GmbH, a new dynamic transfer chute is currently being developed, since standard chute systems are often unable to optimally perform the tasks assigned to them.

Abstract:Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part E: Journal of Process Mechanical Engineering, Ahead of Print. This study aims to explore the impact of scraper structure on the stable operation of scraper conveyors. A simulation test is designed to investigate the effect of the scraper's lower inclination angle on the wedge-shaped structure of the scraper. Based on the test results, modifications are made to the scraper's lower inclination angle. Using the DEM-MBD coupling model of the scraper conveyor, simulation analyses are conducted to evaluate the influence of the scraper on the dynamic characteristics of the conveyor before and after the modification. The simulation test results reveal that, when coal materials are stuck, the minimum impact force of coal material on the upper sample is observed at inclination angles of 52.35° and 78.19°. The simulation research indicates that the transportation efficiency of the standard scraper and the single-sided 52.35° and 78.19° modified scraper is similar. The single-sided 78.19° scraper demonstrates the most stable vibration amplitude and centroid variance, with an overall maximum vibration amplitude and variance of 0.76 mm and 0.08, respectively. The z-direction speed fluctuation of the single-sided 78.19° scraper is also the smallest and most stable, with a maximum peak-valley difference and fluctuation variance of 0.17 m/s and 0.0004, respectively. Additionally, the force of the coal on the single-sided 78.19° scraper is the smallest and relatively stable, with a fluctuation range of 510.28∼ 18,557.71 N. Overall, the dynamic operation effect of the single-sided 78.19° scraper is deemed the best after considering all factors. This study provides valuable insights into the influence of scraper structure with different lower inclination angles on the stable operation of scraper conveyors and offers a reference for optimizing scraper structure.
