Abstract:The test running of the small trackless equipments in tunneling at 753 Mine is described. It is proved by the analysis of working efficiency of the small trackless equipments that the small trackless equipments are normally functioning. The influencing factors on working efficiency of the small trackless equipments are analyzed, and the improving measures are proposed. The acquirements from the experiment are referable to small mine building or rebuilding.

Abstract:with the exhaustion of thick coal seams in some mines, thinner coal seam extraction will become the main trend of mining industry in the near future. However, due to the rigors of the mining environment, operations in the thinner coal seam are hardly acceptable by the miners. Therefore, in order to improve the production and assure the miners' security, automation technologies are advised perpetually. Nevertheless, current automation technology applied in the thinner coal seam is not ideal as communication between the different subsystems is easily interrupted and equipments are always damaged by each other in the narrow space. This paper firstly introduces remote integration control of the shearer machine, during which it is focused on that how communication stability can be improved in the thin coal seam, and then puts forward an easy and achievable method called replicated trajectory cutting (RTC) to realize the automation of the mining machine. Developments are achieved for the automation of mining machine. After the description of a real test, many lessons are learnt to construct the automation system of coal extraction in underground mine. Additionally, much experience can be immediately applicable to other longwall mining operations.

Abstract:Given the current productive efficiency in China, the core of design method is to "basically maintain the original status of strata (surrounding rock)", so as to achieve the goal of "reasonably exerting the self-bearing capacity of strata (surrounding rock). In another word, the interaction between strata (surrounding rock) and supporting structure will help the system to achieve the "stable equilibrium and deformation compatibility control". The design theories and construction methods are in consistency in this concern. The underground engineering stable equilibrium theory not only provides the elaboration of mechanics theory but also requirements for construction methods. The theory describes the basic concept of underground structure design and construction, the suitability and consistency of different design theories and construction methods in a better way. In addition, it also emphasize the significance of underground structure design details and reasonable construction process, which reflects the concept of "simplifying complicated issues". In Timo Shenko mechanics theory, the complicated boundary condition mechanics issues are simplified before solved, in order to better understand the physical interpretation of engineering problems, and thus facilitate the underground engineering design and construction. Based on the underground engineering stable equilibrium theory, four construction techniques are provided and illustrated with cases in this chapter.

Abstract:The purpose of the paper is to research control tactics of EPBM excavation surface stability under the mode of casting using screw conveyor and design the hydraulic drive system of screw conveyor for shield's functional requirements,which is inexpensive,convenient to control and flexible for loads.By analyzing the principle of earth pressure balance TBM tunneling and the factors affecting EPBM excavation surface stability,a suitable control tactics based on actual state of arts is proposed and the main parameters of screw conveyor are determined.Then,according to the requirements of control,tunneling security and loads,the parameters computation and principle design are carried out,the control tactics is proposed,which includes two dimension weighing control and double closed-loop control;the control algorithm of PDF algorithm is raised,which is outer closed-loop,the Hydraulic Drive System of screw conveyor is designed,which is constant voltage control in the inner closed-loop in the Hydraulic drive system prior to electronic proportional control,the control tactics and the hydraulic drive system are designed and are of low costs,simple and practical.It meet the challenge of EPBM tunneling process,real-time,security and reliability requirements.Furthermore,it makes the running parameters in the optimized range so that the abrasion is reduced,longevity is increased and the fault rate is lessened.

Abstract:The fuel consumption, productivity and operability are three important performance criteria for construction machinery. Better fuel economy sometimes means reduced productivity while higher productivity requires more powerful powertrain and thus consumes more fuel. It is challenging to compromise these performances in a single machine. However for working sites with multiple machines running together, it is possible to balance fleet fuel consumption and productivity with proper site operation strategy. In this study a site operation strategy for wheel loader/truck loading and transportation cycle is developed. A comprehensive criterion balancing the trade-off between fleet fuel consumption and fleet productivity - the fleet operating cost, is proposed. The strategy takes both fleet configuration parameter (number of wheel loaders and trucks) and operating parameter (wheel loader cycle time) into considerations. The fleet fuel consumption is calculated based on vehicle powertrain models instead of empirical estimation. The fleet fuel consumption, productivity and fleet operating cost with different numbers of wheel loader/truck and wheel loader cycle times are obtained. The optimal number of wheel loader/truck and wheel loader cycle time to achieve minimum fleet operating cost are identified.

Abstract:A conclusion can be gotten by the analysis of special structure of track system in continuous miners that inner friction of vehicles was major factor to cause tractive performance change.A power match method was proposed for power match between structural parameters and driving system under three different working conditions.On-vehicle measurement was carried out.The results show that the difference between experimental and theoretical values is about 10%.This power match method can be used for integral design and selection of driving motor.

Abstract:In order to recover the value of short texts in the operation and maintenance of power equipment, a short text mining framework with specific design is proposed. First, the process of the short text mining framework is summarized, in which the functions of all the processing modules are introduced. Then, according to the characteristics of short texts in the operation and maintenance of power equipment, the specific design for each module is proposed, which adapts the short text mining framework to a practical application. Finally, based on the framework with the specific designed modules, two examples in terms of defect texts are given to illustrate the application of short text mining in the operation and maintenance of power equipment. The results of the examples show that the short text mining framework is suitable for operation and maintenance tasks for power equipment, and the specific design for each module is beneficial for the improvement of the application effect.

Abstract:Enhancing the traction performance of the tracked miner is crucial for ensuring smooth seabed operation. In this study, an experimental device for the interaction between track and deep-sea sediments was designed, aligning with the walking process of the tracked miner. The primary and secondary order of the influence of the driving parameters on the mechanical properties of the undisturbed deep-sea sediments was determined by an orthogonal test, and the pressure-sinkage model and shear stress–displacement model were constructed. Building upon the shear model and the vehicle ground mechanics theory, the driving mechanics model of the tracked miner in the seabed environment was derived, and the track structure and parameter optimization method were proposed. The results show that the experimental factors significantly influence the mechanical properties of undisturbed deep-sea sediments, with the order of influence being grounding pressure > grouser height > shear rate > track shoe length > track shoe width; By optimizing the structural parameters of the "Kunlong 500" tracked miner, the drawbar pull increased by 29.1%, and the sinkage depth reduced by 12.8%. This study quantitatively analyzes the influence of structural parameters in driving performance on the sinkage and shear characteristics of deep-sea sediments, and proposes a new method for optimizing the tractive parameters. It provides new insights for achieving efficient and environmentally friendly movement of tracked miner on the seabed.

Abstract:Given that the disassembly speed of the body of the telescopic belt conveyor operated in an underground coal mine couldn’t keep consistent with the advancing speed of the working face, a telescopic system specially for the belt conveyor was designed. Then a detailed comparison of the merits and demerits and a force analysis of different telescopic systems were made in this paper. Lastly, a conveyor belt-oriented friction-type traction device was invented for specific working conditions. And the traction device is characterized by strong adaptability and high working efficiency and could retract and extend the telescopic part continuously and automatically, which provided an effective technical solution to facilitate the intelligent and efficient development of the modern mine.

Abstract:Frontline supervisors are pivotal in mining productivity, but face challenges due to the long working hours and rapid decision-making skills required. This paper proposes the application of Short Interval Control (SIC) to streamline information flow and support decision systems in mining, by developing a framework that aims to improve shovel performance during critical hours. Initial results demonstrated improvements in shift change and reduced operational disruption due to lunchtime breaks. Conclusively, although the methodology didn't translate directly to significant improvements due to data availability, it became evident that SIC can help identify deviations and facilitate quick shifts within operational mining processes.

Abstract:The paper,by taking the blasting technology used in Jingshansi open-pit Mines an example,discussed the economic and environmental effects resulted from the employment of small-medium capacity facilities of high ability in terms of blasting technology,equipment selection,mining sequence,road layout,drainage design and equipment operational rate.Practical operation showed that small-size equipment was favorable in terms of the control of ore leaning and losing to open-pit mine of small and medium capacity with small ore body but much quantity occurring in thin strip and complex nature.

Abstract:Energy Exploration &Exploitation, Ahead of Print. Energy auditing is crucial for both emerging and developed nations, focusing on aspects such as energy efficiency, quality and intensity. This becomes especially significant in the industrial sector, where major operating costs involve materials, machinery, personnel and energy. A key objective is identifying energy consumption in the Continuous Miner Machine, boasting a 1050 KW connected load, to explore opportunities for energy savings and improved quality. The execution of an energy audit promises increased efficiency, enhanced power quality, reduced costs and prevention of energy wastage. This research study has meticulously examined the electrical equipment supplying power to Continuous Miner Machines, proposing modifications to boost production through energy-efficient methods. Comprehensive assessments of primary substations, including Incomers, Transformers, Feeders, etc., involve tests for voltage, current, power factor, harmonics and AC waveform. Thermal imaging is employed to analyze the operational temperature of the electrical equipment. The graphical representations of test outcomes have highlighted a significant recommendation: installing an Automatic Power Factor Controller on the inductive load side of transformers could lead to a notable 3.85% reduction in energy costs.
