Abstract:Autonomous mine transportation technology is an inevitable trend in intelligent development of future industrial Internet. However, existing solutions in the industry usually pay more attention to implementation and optimization of functions and performance, neglecting the ever increasing importance of safety requirements for the mining automation system. This article investigates the current situation and relevant safety standards of the industry and proposes safety system design principles, models, and safety application measures applicable to the autonomous mine transportation technology in an aim to enhancing standardization, normalization, and enterprise management proficiency of mining production.

Abstract:This paper focuses on the safety of railway vehicles. A new semi-active control strategy is proposed based on the skyhook control theory. In view of the main railway vehicle safety performance indicators, the new control strategy aims at reducing the derailment coefficient of railway vehicles by restraining the lateral vibrations of the bogie and the wheelset. Furthermore, to evaluate the improvement of the safety performance brought about by the new control strategy, a complete railway vehicle model is established using the ADAMS/Rail software package. In further co-simulations, five conventional control methods are compared with the proposed approach under the same conditions. Co-simulation results indicate that the new control strategy is effective in improving the safety performance of railway vehicles.

The system provides a safe operation platform for the operators to ensure the production schedule, reduce labor intensity, save costs, improve economic benefits, and has great promotion value.

Abstract:The rapid development of high-speed railway has greatly promoted our economic and social development.Meanwhile,the higher requirements are put forward on the safety of railway system.For the research and application of acoustic emission technique in railway system inspection,acoustic emission technique and its advantages are introduced,and acoustic emission technique in railway system inspection is reviewed,including rail defect detection,wheel defect detection,wheel-axle and bearing inspection,safety monitoring of railway structure and safety monitoring of car body material.Because the rail breakage caused by rail defect is the main rail safety accident,the review of acoustic emission technique in rail defect detection is emphasized.Based on the above analysis,future developments and research challenges of acoustic emission technique in railway system inspection are discussed.

Abstract:Abstract With the rapid development of transportation technology, the application of railway transportation is more and more widely, which has become an important livelihood project. Therefore, we need the railway department to continuously strengthen the maintenance work of Railway public Works (hereinafter referred to as RPW) technology. Compared with the operation efficiency of railway, the operation efficiency of common speed line is higher, which requires us to strengthen and improve the maintenance management of common speed line. Through computer technology, the railway department can fully implement the mode of “maintenance and repair”, which will avoid the current situation of high wear and tear of heavy haul railway. By gradually improving the maintenance level, we can improve the equipment support ability, which has a certain promotion value for the railway line workshop maintenance. First of all, this paper analyzes the key points of RPW maintenance, and then, this paper analyzes the construction of comprehensive data platform of RPW maintenance plan. Finally, some suggestions are put forward.

Abstract:Abstract In recent years, heavy-haul train technology has seen a number of innovations worldwide, and train traction-running technology has also made great progress, resulting in a rich pool of experience and a range of promising applications. This paper summarizes the key technologies of traction running in heavy-haul combined trains, especially locomotive and rolling-stock technology, traction technology, braking technology, control technology, communication technology and safety technology. At the same time, based on an analysis of practical applications, this paper further explores the main problems and urgent needs of traction equipment on heavy-haul trains. With an eye to the future, the heavy-haul railway system will develop in the direction of informatization, automation and intelligence, in order to build a greener, more energy-saving, safer and more efficient railway. This paper therefore looks forward to the technical developments of heavy-haul combined trains, and provides a reference for the development of heavy-haul railways.

Abstract:Many issues have been reflected during raising tunneling processes in mining industry,including improper installation of raising guiding wheels,instable movement of scraper loader and tramcar accidents.This paper provides a design applied in raising tunneling process,uses a herringbone guiding wheels device to drive scraper loaders and lift tramcars,this method can simplify the installation procedures effectively,thereby avoiding the movements of scraper loader and the accidents of tramcar.

Abstract:With the rapid expansion of railway networks and increasing transportation demands, the operating safety of railway systems, especially the risk management and safety measures to prevent train derailments, has become critically important. This study investigates the post-derailment dynamic behavior of railway vehicles and its self-protection mechanism. In order to understand the post-derailment dynamic behavior of railway vehicle, a half-car full-scale derailment experiment was conducted in the laboratory. Subsequently, a post-derailment contact collision dynamic model of a half-car was developed through integrating a polygonal contact model. This model accounts for the actual geometric shapes of various components in the vehicle and track system, and its validity was demonstrated through comparing the numerical results with those obtained through the derailment experiments. Subsequently, a full-scale post-derailment dynamic model for railway vehicle was developed, and further used to investigate the safety zone of motor installation for the self-protection of railway vehicle. In addition, a comparative analysis of self-protection of railway vehicle operating on different slab types was carried out. The results indicated that the CRTS II slab track, with its inclusion of shoulder blocks, shows better protective capabilities compared to the CRTS I slab track.

Abstract:With the gradual increase of the cargo weight of heavy-haul trains, the traditional ballasted track with the accumulation of stone and ballast has been unable to meet its structural safety requirements. From the comparison of the three common ballastless tracks in China, it can be seen that the low-vibration track (LVT) has the advantages of reasonable structure, low cost, and easy maintenance. Therefore, the design and research of heavy-haul railways are focused on, and it is urgent to study the applicability of LVT in heavy-haul railways. Method: By improving the slope of the short side of the LVT support block, the support block has a better load bearing capacity, so as to achieve the purpose of bearing a larger axle load. Through 1:1 full-scale model test and finite element simulation, the static mechanical properties of Improved LVT (ILVT) and Traditional LVT (TLVT) are compared and analyzed. Result: Compared with TLVT, ILVT has smaller vertical displacement and track gauge changes when subjected to the same load. The proven and reliable finite element model also shows that ILVT’s load sharing is less affected. In the case of achieving the same deformation, ILVT can withstand greater vertical and lateral loads. Conclusions: Compared with the TLVT, the ILVT design can reduce the vertical displacement of the rail and the supporting block, better control the track subsidence, and improve the driving safety of the LVT. At the same time, ILVT improves the anti-overturning ability of the rail and support block under lateral load, reduces the expansion of the gauge and the lateral spacing of the support block, and improves the stability of the track structure. ILVT can also be considered for the weight of 40t and other large axle load, and has broad application prospects.

Engineering Failure Analysis

Abstract:The derailment of railway vehicles at a turnout is a worldwide concern. However, the derailment of empty freight trains in the switch section of a turnout in the diverging route is rarely concerned. Therefore, in order to analyse the derailment mechanism of empty freight trains in the turnout switch area and to propose appropriate preventive measures, field investigation and dynamic simulation of the derailment are carried out on the basis of an empty freight train derailment in the turnout switch area of the diverging route. Firstly, the background of the derailment is presented and the potential influencing factors of the derailment are analysed according to the field investigation. Secondly, a detailed train-turnout dynamic model is established, taking into account the variable cross-sections of the turnout switch rail and the effect of the longitudinal coupler force. Thirdly, based on the model, the derailment mechanism of the empty freight train is revealed through theoretical analysis and simulation calculation. Finally, the effect of the potential derailment influencing factors is analysed and preventive measures are proposed to reduce the derailment risk of the empty freight train at the turnout switch area in the diverging route. The results indicate that this derailment is caused by the combined effect of the inherent structural characteristics of the switch, the large longitudinal coupler force, and the high wheel rail friction coefficient. The possibility of derailment can be reduced by reducing the longitudinal coupler force and the wheel rail friction coefficient. In addition, the installation of a guard rail in front of the turnout can effectively prevent empty freight train derailment in the turnout area.

Abstract:Purpose This study aims to improve the rules and regulations system of high-speed rail emergency disposal. Design/methodology/approach Based on the analysis of the demands, rules and regulations of China concerning on-site high-speed rail emergency disposal, basic principles for revising the regulations on railway technical management (RRTM) are proposed and suggestions and evaluation methods according to the main clauses are put forward. Findings Basic principles for revising the RRTM are proposed, namely “to meet the actual needs of on-site high-speed railway emergency disposal, standardize the emergency disposal process, improve the efficiency of emergency disposal and keep the consistency between provisions of emergency disposal”. Existing provisions related to emergency disposal efficiency, scenarios, safety and service quality are made up for the deficiencies. To make up for the deficiencies of the existing provisions related to emergency disposal efficiency, improvement of emergency disposal scenarios and guarantee of emergency disposal safety and quality, this paper puts forward suggestions on revising 15 emergency disposal provisions of the RRTM with regard to earthquake monitoring and warning, in-station foreign body invasion warning, air conditioning failure of EMU trains and forced parking of trains in sections. A fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is constructed to evaluate the proposed revision scheme and suggestions, which has been highly recognized by experts. Originality/value This study implements the goal of high-quality railway development.

Abstract:Abstract Aiming at the problems of manual laying of tracks, sliding car and dropping lanes in the process of traditional train transportation of winch traction equipment, this paper presents a long-distance self-moving equipment train, which is powered by hydraulic pressure, self-contained track, highly integrated train self-moving, walking deviation, anti-dropping and other functions, so as to realize the striding forward movement of the whole equipment train driven by the traction device. Innovative adopt of loop liquid supply, multiple group remote control and other technologies, and using multi-master control, and high reliability, strong anti-interference CAN (Controller Area Network) fieldbus real-time control network, it ensures the synchronous and smooth lifting of the train, and it moves forward with the self-moving traction device. Thereby, the automatic system development and demonstration application of the fully mechanized mining equipment can be realized.

Abstract:In order to meet the needs of urban rail vehicle daily inspection, the working method of robot replacing manual for urban rail multi track daily inspection is studied, and based on this, the urban rail multi track daily inspection robot platform system is designed. This paper introduces the design purpose and working functions of the urban rail multi track operation daily inspection robot platform, expounds the system composition of the urban rail multi track operation daily inspection robot platform, and explains the operation method of the urban rail multi track operation daily inspection robot platform. The hardware of the urban rail multi track operation daily inspection robot described in this paper adopts modular platform design and learning through teaching. The robot platform can adapt to different work needs, operate independently according to the command requirements, and the configuration is flexible. The robot system has stable performance and is a powerful supplement to the daily inspection of urban rail vehicles.

Abstract:： Nowadays, with the rapid development of technology, rail vehicles are becoming not only faster and more efficient, but also more intelligent. However, a critical issue for rail transportation is still safety and reliability. Rail vehicles include vehicle bodies, doors, power and transmission systems, bogies, brake systems, electrical systems, signal systems, and other auxiliary function systems. They usually work in complex environment, generate loud noise and face various potential faults. These characteristics make fault diagnosis and reliability assurance challenging. Based on survey of relevant literature in past 15 years, this paper summarizes theories, methods, and techniques of fault diagnosis for key components and subsystems of rail vehicles. Meantime, fault detection and remote diagnosis are discussed with respect to characteristics of rail vehicles. Finally, future research directions in these areas for rail vehicles are also discussed, that is, exploring inner depth of reliability assurance, accelerating research from appearance to mechanism, speeding up the transformation from theories to application, effectively improving fault diagnosis and health management capabilities for critical rail transportation equipment.
