Abstract:with the exhaustion of thick coal seams in some mines, thinner coal seam extraction will become the main trend of mining industry in the near future. However, due to the rigors of the mining environment, operations in the thinner coal seam are hardly acceptable by the miners. Therefore, in order to improve the production and assure the miners' security, automation technologies are advised perpetually. Nevertheless, current automation technology applied in the thinner coal seam is not ideal as communication between the different subsystems is easily interrupted and equipments are always damaged by each other in the narrow space. This paper firstly introduces remote integration control of the shearer machine, during which it is focused on that how communication stability can be improved in the thin coal seam, and then puts forward an easy and achievable method called replicated trajectory cutting (RTC) to realize the automation of the mining machine. Developments are achieved for the automation of mining machine. After the description of a real test, many lessons are learnt to construct the automation system of coal extraction in underground mine. Additionally, much experience can be immediately applicable to other longwall mining operations.

Abstract:With the depletion of surface resources, mining will develop toward the deep surface in the future, the objective conditions such as the mining environment will be more complex and dangerous than now, and the requirements for personnel and equipment will be higher and higher. The efficient mining of deep space is inseparable from movable and flexible production and transportation equipment such as scrapers. In the new era, intelligence is leading to the development trend of scraper (LHD), path tracking control is the key to the intelligent scraper (LHD), and it is also an urgent problem to be solved for unmanned driving. This paper describes the realization of the automatic operation of articulating the scraper (LHD) from two aspects, a mathematical model and trajectory tracking control method, and it focuses on the research of the path tracking control scheme in the field of unmanned driving, that is, an LQR controller. On this basis, combined with different intelligent clustering algorithms, the parameters of the LQR controller are optimized to find the optimal solution of the LQR controller. Then, the path tracking control of an intelligent LHD unmanned driving technology is studied, focusing on the optimization of linear quadratic optimal control (LQR) and the intelligent cluster algorithms AGA, QPSO, and ACA; this research has great significance for the development of the intelligent scraper (LHD). As mining engineers, we not only need to conduct research for practical engineering projects but also need to produce theoretical designs for advanced mining technology; therefore, the area of intelligent mining is the one we need to explore at present and in the future. Finally, this paper serves as a guide to starting a conversation, and it has implications for the development and the future of underground transportation.

Abstract:Coal is an important basic energy source, widely distributed throughout the world, but resource abundance is uneven. Despite the need to develop and form new energy sources, coal energy maintains its dominant position. However, due to the uneven distribution and non-renewable nature of coal resources, the relationship between the supply and demand of coal resources is tight. The rational exploitation of coal and reducing resource mining wastes are particularly important at the present stage. The original mining method of the Zhangjiamao coal mine resulted in a large waste of coal resources. After replacing the “110 construction method”, the original advanced end-support was canceled, which saved a lot of process time and engineering costs and greatly improved the mine production efficiency. With an average mining depth of +300 m, the working face is in a safe and stable state, and the 110-mining process has little impact on surface subsidence. Its successful application provides a reference experience for other mines to promote resource-saving and efficient mining.

Abstract:In the mining industry, with numerical simulation analysis of stope roof stability, stope exposed area computation, and pillar buckling collapse simulation, backfill body creep damage mechanism research is becoming the most popular method in the field of backfill mining techniques. In this paper, we first summarized and analyzed the current application status and the existing problems of numerical simulation for solving mining engineering technical problems; then, based on the practical engineering problems of mining phosphate rock resources under high and steep rock slopes (HSRS), we carried out a true-3D numerical simulation study for different underground mining methods, to determine the appropriate mining method. Therefore, this paper, taking Dingxi Mine in China as an example, highlights the advantages of the backfill mining method with a high and steep slope; meanwhile, it also points out how to improve the accuracy of a numerical simulation and make it more consistent with the actual situation of the mining engineering application site. This paper only serves as a guide, in order to start a conversation, and we hope many more experts and scholars will become interested and engaged in this field of research.

Abstract:The mining environment of thin coal seam working faces is generally harsh, the labor intensity is high, and the production efficiency is low. Previous studies have shown that thin coal seam mining finds it difficult to follow machines, does not have complete sets of equipment, has a low degree of automation, and has difficult system co-control, which easily causes production safety accidents. In order to effectively solve the problems existing in thin coal seam mining, Binhu Coal Mine has established intelligent fully mechanized mining and actively explored automatic coal cutting, automatic support following, and intelligent control. The combination of an SAC electro-hydraulic control system and SAP pumping station control system has been applied in 16,108 intelligent fully mechanized coal mining faces, which realizes the automatic following of underground support and the control of adjacent support, partition support, and group operation; the automatic coal cutting of the shearer is realized by editing the automatic coal-cutting state of the shearer and adjusting the automatic parameters. A centralized control center is set up, which realizes the remote control and one-button start-stop of working face equipment. Through a comparative analysis of 16,108 intelligent fully mechanized mining faces and traditional fully mechanized mining faces, it is found that intelligent fully mechanized mining faces have obvious advantages in terms of equipment maintenance, equipment operation mode, and working face efficiency, which improve the equipment and technical mining level of thin coal seam. The application of intelligent mining in Binhu Coal Mine has a great and far-reaching impact on the development of thin coal seam mining technology in China.

Abstract:Aiming at the actuality of the large mining groups lack of information production control means,developed the mine intelligent production management system.The system is concise,optimize the formation of Shenhua Group years striving for high yield and high efficiency of advanced management thoughts and management practice,the major coal production business process standardization and normalization.By modeling technology,the collaborative theory and optimization algorithm,achieved the synergistic convergence of the production connecting plan with the supporting equipment,move and change working face,human resources,monthly production plan,and also completed and matching the data link of coal production of the various business segments.The system was applied in Shenhua Shendong Group,developed a unified production management platform covering group,secondary enterprise and coal mine.It improves the efficiency of coal mine production.The time to compile production connecting plan is reduced from the original 10 days to the current 2days at each time,saving 78 management staff.Mine integrated yield from 500 000t/month increases to 530000t/month and the total efficiency from 114 tincreases to 123 tper worker.

Abstract:The scraper conveyor is an important equipment in modern coal mining process. Traditional alloy steel scrapers, as one of the main components of the scraper conveyor, are disadvantageous in that they are not only vulnerable to failures such as fracture and wear, but also take up over 35% of the output power to rotate themselves, resulting in excessive idle load. In order to improve the running state of the scraper and the overall loading of the scraper conveyor and extend the service life of the scraper, a transportation system fault tree of the scraper conveyor was drawn based on fault tree analysis. The minimum cut set of the fault tree was calculated. The Fussel–Vesely importance (FV) of scraper failure to transportation system was 0.458. Failure of the original scraper primarily includes wear and fatigue, as result from the excessive wear caused by the sliding friction between the scraper and the middle trough. A new optimized scraper design was developed: the support was forged from PU material to reduce self-weight and increase buffer capacity; the scrape was restructured to include rolling elements and a detachable support, which transformed sliding friction to rolling friction. Use of the new scraper in a mine reduced the idling rate of the scraper conveyor to 23% and increased the scraper service life by around 3 times. The research result of this paper could provide reference for further application of lean design theory in the updating of coal mining equipment.
