Abstract:Ethacridine was successfully polymerized at a Pt electrode by potentiostatic and cyclic voltammetric methods. Glucose oxidase, as doped anions, was simultaneously incorporated into the matrixes of thin poly(ethacridine) (PETD), which was developed to fabricate a amperometric glucose sensor. This enzyme electrode exhibited a fast amperometric response to glucose within 2s. The Michaelis–Menten constant Km′ and the maximum current density Jmax, calculated from the response of glucose at this sensor, were 15.7mM and 209μA/cm2, respectively. Due to its selective permeability, PETD drastically reduced the effects of electroactive interference such as l-ascorbic acid, uric acid, o-acetaminophenol and l-cysteine. Furthermore, good stability was observed for this glucose sensor.
