Abstract:The main results obtained in this paper are as follows: For a commutative semi-ring, we (introduce) a new definition for localization, and discuss its properties; For commutative semi-rings A_1,A_2,…, and A_n, it is proved that the localization of the direct product A_1×A_2×…×A_n is isormorphic to the direct product of the localizations of A_1,A_2,…,and A_n; It is proved that the localization of a (commutative) semi-ring possesses the universal property.

Abstract:In this article, we first generalize the method of [13] and give some further characterizations of semigroups with [0-]quasi length. Then we give a very simple necessary and sufficient condition for a class of semigroups, including finitely generated semigroups with [0-]quasi length, finite π-groups, finite nil-extensions of finite inverse semigroups, to be syntactic. This work completely answers the following questions: “How to characterize the syntactic semigroup (monoid) of f-disjunctive languages?” or “What kind of f-disjunctive congruences is syntactic?” These questions are asked forward and studied in [6, 12, 13].

Abstract:Suppose that $X$ be a nonempty set. Denote by $\mathcal{T}(X)$ the full transformation semigroup on $X$. For $\varnothing \neq Z\subseteq Y\subseteq X$, let $\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z)=\{\alpha \in \mathcal{T}(X): Y\alpha \subseteq Z \}$. Then $\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z)$ is a subsemigroup of $\mathcal{T}(X)$. In this paper, we characterize the regular elements of the semigroup $\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z)$, and present a necessary and sufficient condition under which $\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z)$ is regular. Furthermore, we investigate the abundance of the semigroup $\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z)$ for the case $Z\subsetneq Y\subsetneq X$. In addition, we compute the cardinalities of $\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z)$, ${\rm Reg}(\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z))$ and ${\rm E}(\mathcal{T}(X,Y,Z))$ when $X$ is finite, respectively.

Abstract:Sufficient conditions are obtained under which the semigroup ring of a semigroup, in particular, of an inverse semigroup, is weakly regular. For some inverse semigroups and some orthodox semigroups, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the weak regularity of the semigroup rings are found. A problem is mentioned especially which is much more difficult for weak regularity than for regularity. Only a partial solution of this problem is given for weak regularity.

Abstract:This paper enriches the list of properties of the congruence sequences starting from the universal relation and successively performing the operations of lower $t$ and lower $k$. Three classes of completely regular semigroups, namely semigroups for which $\ker{\sigma}$ is a cryptogroup, semigroups for which $\ker{\nu}$ is a cryptogroup and semigroups for which $\kappa$ is over rectangular bands, are studied. $((\omega_t)_k)_t$, $((\mathcal{D}_t)_k)_t$ and $((\omega_k)_t)_k$ are found to be the least congruences on $S$ such that the quotient semigroups are semigroups for which $\ker{\sigma}$ is a cryptogroup, $\ker{\nu}$ is a cryptogroup and $\kappa$ is over rectangular bands, respectively. The results obtained present a response to three problems in Petrich and Reilly's textbook \textquoteleft\textquoteleft Completely Regular Semigroups\textquoteright\textquoteright.
Semigroup algorithmic problems in metabelian groups

Abstract:We consider semigroup algorithmic problems in finitely generated metabelian groups. Our paper focuses on three decision problems introduced by Choffrut and Karhum\"{a}ki (2005): the Identity Problem (does a semigroup contain a neutral element?), the Group Problem (is a semigroup a group?) and the Inverse Problem (does a semigroup contain the inverse of a generator?). We show that all three problems are decidable for finitely generated sub-semigroups of finitely generated metabelian groups. In particular, we establish a correspondence between polynomial semirings and sub-semigroups of metabelian groups using an interaction of graph theory, convex polytopes, algebraic geometry and number theory. Since the Semigroup Membership problem (does a semigroup contain a given element?) is known to be undecidable in finitely generated metabelian groups, our result completes the decidability characterization of semigroup algorithmic problems in metabelian groups.

Abstract:The operator semirings of a $\Gamma$-semiring have been brought into use to study $\Gamma$-semiring in terms of fuzzy subsets. This is accomplished by obtaining various relationships between the set of all fuzzy ideals of a $\Gamma$-semiring and the set of all fuzzy ideals of its left operator semiring such as lattice isomorphism between the sets of fuzzy ideals of a $\Gamma$-semiring and its operator semirings.

Abstract:Let $X$ be a nonempty set and $\mathcal{P}=\{X_i\colon i\in I\}$ a partition of $X$. Denote by $T(X)$ the full transformation semigroup on $X$, and $T(X, \mathcal{P})$ the subsemigroup of $T(X)$ consisting of all transformations that preserve $\mathcal{P}$. For every subsemigroup $\mathbb{S}(I)$ of $T(I)$, let $T_{\mathbb{S}(I)}(X,\mathcal{P})$ be the semigroup of all transformations $f\in T(X, \mathcal{P})$ such that $\chi^{(f)}\in \mathbb{S}(I)$, where $\chi^{(f)}\in T(I)$ defined by $i\chi^{(f)}=j$ whenever $X_if\subseteq X_j$. We describe regular and idempotent elements in $T_{\mathbb{S}(I)}(X,\mathcal{P})$, and determine when $T_{\mathbb{S}(I)}(X,\mathcal{P})$ is a regular semigroup [inverse semigroup]. With the assumption that $\mathbb{S}(I)$ contains the identity, we characterize Green's relations on $T_{\mathbb{S}(I)}(X,\mathcal{P})$, describe unit-regular elements in $T_{\mathbb{S}(I)}(X,\mathcal{P})$, and determine when $T_{\mathbb{S}(I)}(X,\mathcal{P})$ is a unit-regular semigroup. We apply these general results to obtain more concrete results for $T(X,\mathcal{P})$.

Generalized Numerical semigroups up to isomorphism

Abstract:A generalized numerical semigroup is a submonoid $S$ of $\mathbb{N}^d$ with finite complement in it. We characterize isomorphisms between these monoids in terms of permutation of coordinates. Considering the equivalence relation that identifies the monoids obtained by the action of a permutation and establishing a criterion to select a representative from each equivalence class, we define some procedures for generating the set of all generalized numerical semigroups of given genus up to isomorphism. Finally, we present computational data and explore properties related to the number of generalized numerical semigroups of a given genus up to isomorphism.

The semigroup is introduced by a presentation and the word problem for that presentation is solved. The structure of the semigroup is also studied.

Abstract:In the field of mathematics, a purely combinatorial equivalent to a simplicial complex, or more generally, a down-set, is an abstract structure known as a family of sets. This family is closed under the operation of taking subsets, meaning that every subset of a set within the family is also included in the family. The purpose of this paper is two-fold. Firstly, it aims to present a comprehensive survey of recent results in the field. This survey intends to provide an overview of the advancements made in codes constructed from simplicial complexes. Secondly, the paper seeks to propose open problems that are anticipated to stimulate further research in this area. By highlighting these open problems, the paper aims to encourage and inspire future investigations and developments in the field of codes derived from simplicial complexes.

Abstract:The given study uses the methods to identify compactifications of semigroups $S\subset L(X),$ which reside in the space $L(X).$ This method generalizes in some sense the deLeeuw-Glicksberg-Theory to a greater class of functions. The approach provides an abstract approach to several notions of almost periodicity, which mainly involving right semitopological semigroups \cite{RuppertLNM}, and the adjoint theory. Moreover, the given setting is refined to the case of bounded $C_0-$semigroups.

Abstract:The main aim of this work is to introduce and justify the study of semi-covarities. A {\it semi-covariety} is a non-empty family $\mathcal{F}$ of numerical semigroups such that it is closed under finite intersections, has a minimum, $\min(\mathcal{F}),$ and if $S\in \mathcal{F}$ being $S\neq \min(\mathcal{F})$, then there is $x\in S$ such that $S\backslash \{x\}\in \mathcal{F}$. As examples, we will study the semi-covariety formed by all the numerical semigroups containing a fixed numerical semigroup, and the semi-covariety composed by all the numerical semigroups of coated odd elements and fixed Frobenius number.

Abstract:Locality semigroups were proposed recently as one of the basic locality algebraic structures, which are studied in mathematics and physics. Path semigroups and partial semigroups were also developed by many authors in the literature. In this paper, we study free objects in the category of refined locality semigroups. It turns out that the path locality semigroup of a quiver is the free refined locality semigroup on a locality set. We also explore the relationships among locality semigroups, partial semigroups and path locality semigroups, concluding that the path locality semigroup is a proper subclass of the intersection of locality semigroups and partial semigroups. In particular, the class of refined locality semigroups is a proper subclass of strong locality semigroups. Furthermore, we show that, when a partial semigroup is a refined locality semigroup, one can extend it a strong semigroup with zero.

A combinatorial characterisation of amenable locally compact groups

Abstract:We introduce a new combinatorial condition that characterises the amenability for locally compact groups. Our condition is weaker than the well-known F{\o}lner's conditions, and so is potentially useful as a criteria to show the amenability of specific locally compact groups. Our proof requires us to give a quantitative characterisation of (relatively) weakly compact subsets of ${\mathfrak L}^1$-spaces, and we do this through the introduction of a new notion of almost $(p,q)$-multi-boundedness for a subset of a Banach space that is intimately related to the well-known notion of the $(q,p)$-summing constants of an operator. As a side product, we also obtain a characterisation of weakly compact operators from ${\mathfrak L}^\infty$-spaces in terms of their sequences of $(q,p)$-summing constants.
