Abstract:How do we re-understand Marx's philosophy in a new perspective? This is a very important issue in the contemporary study of Marx's philosophy.Over the past ten years,Prof.Yu Wu-jin has developed various interpretations of Marx's philosophy from different perspectives under the name of "reunderstanding Marx".In short,he attempts to transcend the traditional interpretative approach to Marx's philosophy,to reinterpretate Marx's philosophy and to provide a new conception of its system in terms of philosophy of economics,such as "object,value,time and freedom".Then,what does "re-understanding Marx" mean? What is the purpose of this slogan? What are the key issues of "re-understanding Marx"? What kind of image does "the re-understood Marx" have? Does it meet what Marx meant indeed? Does it represent a "real Marx"? This paper attempts to make a critical reflection on Prof.Yu's re-understanding Marx in terms of the above issues.

Abstract:There are many misunderstandings on how to understand Marx’s labor theory of value. This theory is not a “metaphysical hypothesis” without empirical evidence, which is what many people often mistakenly believe, but the abstract theoretical summary extracted from the experience of common sense. The theory is not intended as an ethical critique of capitalism, but a scientific method to reveal the objective laws from simple commodity production to capitalist commodity production. Viewing the evolution of the economic formation of society as a process of natural history is the fundamental reason why Marx’s socialist theory is superior to other socialist theories. With the development of history, this theory has indeed encountered new problems that require convincing solutions. It should eventually die out, but it always has significant value in scientific methods.

Abstract:By analyzing the logic tensions of textology and reviewing important cases,it holds that,there are some limits to textological path of Marxian Philosophical Study in current China.If those limits are ignored,theory may lose its meaning for a researcher.To give prominence to credible versions and "objective" analysis of Marx's texts(so do as Western Marxology),is one kind of academic hypercorrection related to special ideological transformation.The interpretation of Marx's texts without theoretical reflections could not only neglect the theories of interpretations but also misunderstand the nature of Marxian philosophy.The authority of original texts and the importance of textual research is not absolute norm but some basic aspects of Marxian Philosophy study.

This paper inspects the logic course of the Philosophical Revolution of Marx in seeking truth and value, and points out it's goal of value experienced from the spiritual emancipation and politic emancipation to human liberation. Corresponding to it, Marx also experienced the course of paying attention from the value of individual and social class to the value of humans.

Abstract:Feng Ziyi points out that the theory comes out from the history, and the textual study of the history of Marxist philosophy is always a basic work in the studies of “theory”. While the studies on the history of Marxist philosophy should not be a kind of rigid hermeneutics, it must elucidate theory by a study on history. The new topics for research must be put up in the way of raising questions, and to stimulate the research on the history of Marxist philosophy by strengthening the discussion of “theory”. Nie Jingfang, combining with an analysis of the process of writing A Theoretical History of Surplus Value, points out that Marx has the most consciousness on the relationship between theory and the history of theory, and this is exactly what today’s “hermeneutics of history” needs to pay more attention to. Yang Xuegong emphasizes that the studies on Marx’s texts should correct a mistake of avoiding theory and being in favor of history by “objective compiling of history”. Only by combining history with theory in a mutual promotion, can the studies on the history of Marxist philosophy go out of a dilemma and a low level. Yang Haifeng, by revealing the methodological significance of Croce’s proposition that “all the genuine history are contemporary ones”, believes that in the current reading of Marxist literature, the texts of Marx is the object which should be re-activated, and this activation has an unavoidable relationship with the contemporary context of history and ideas.

Abstract:The theory of surplus value is the core and foundation of Marxist political economy.Surplus value,as a part of commodity value,is the product of a certain historical stage.In addition to reflecting the characteristics of capitalism,surplus value also has the commonality in terms of socialist market economy.We should look upon l surplus value dialectically,that is,we should not only see its limitations,but also know its positive effects.So we can bring the theory of surplus value in socialist market economy into full play.

Abstract:Theoretical controversies between Russian theoriests and western scholars in studies of Marx gave rise to research on Engels. Since 1970s, the author observed, the research on Engels by scholars of Marxism in the west has experienced three stages of development. The author holds that we should evaluate objectively the achievements of researches on Engels by western scholars of Marxism and do them justice. Meanwhile, care should be taken to keep on guard (against) some of their serious defects.

Abstract:The word "value" is one of the concepts which people often use without giving a definite meaning. It’s necessary for people to make clear various misunderstandings on the concept of value in order to set up a basic consensus, and this paper tries to investigate such consensus. First of all, value is not equal to use-value; secondly, the objective value-relationship differs greatly from the subjective value-judgment; thirdly, the critical value-pluralism is more rational than the natural value-pluralism; fourthly, we should choose the revised value-system of modernity rather than value-system of modernity.

It has been shown that not only the rationality for applying and developing Marxism but also the openness of Marxist philosophy are based on local experience and particularly theoretical logic. Towards Cultural Value of Marxist Theory of Spiritual Production

Abstract:Marx believes that spiritual production can be divided into two forms:ideological spiritual production and free spiritual production,thus highlighting the cultural and philosophical significance of spiritual production. As can be seen from Marxist studies of capitalist production as a whole,Marx maintains that the spiritual and cultural value of spiritual production kind of overcomes alienated labor under capitalism,while artistic creation as spiritual production is the kind of labor that all other types of labor long for. Under the historical conditions of his age,Marx relatively overlooked the economic and social value of spiritual production in the form of humanism (outside science and technology). Today,with the rapid development of our economy and that of science and technology,the economic and social value of spiritual production in the form of humanism will be increased dramatically. What matters does not lie in the form of industrialization,but rather in how to ensure that the spiritual and cultural value is integrated with economic and social value.

Abstract:Marxist political philosophy refuted the traditional western political philosophy since Plato by a practical way of thinking, always pointing to emancipation, freedom and overall development of man. This is contrary to the western tradition that regards the hypotheses of human nature as the point of departure of argument. Marxist political philosophy has benefited from a philosophy—the humanities reform. Starting with criticism against the Young Hegelianism; Marx pushed forward political philosophy to a highest level through philosophical criticism in political economics, establishment of communist theories, and studies of anthropology. The spirit of the time when Marxist political philosophy arose is of great theoretical value and practical significance to construction of harmonious society and establishment of the Chinese modern political philosophy.

Abstract:To achieve a comprehensive development of human beings is the value pursuit of Marxist theory as a whole,but the alienated labor theory is the core link in the transformation of Marx's thoughts . This theory reveals various forms of and causes for the unbalanced development of human be-ings and their devaluation under capitalist conditions. Thus,the theory of alienated labor is homologi-cal in nature,which covers the issues like human value,human needs,human liberation,and the re-lationship between man and nature. The research on these issues constitutes the basic framework of Marx's homonological theory. It is from the perspective of pursuing a balanced development of human beings that Marx revealed the humanistic theme of sublating the alienation,which means rising above man's instrumental rationality and moving from an unbalanced development to a balanced one. In con-temporary China,this is where the meaning of understanding and learning from this theory lies. We have to promote our initiative in sticking to Marx's theory of labor,respect the labor and laborers,and create favorable living and working conditions for them,thus laying a solid homological foundation for our confidence in the road,system and theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Abstract:As a second-rank discipline of Marxist theory,the contents of "studies in Marxism Abroad" vary from university to university as well as the understanding of its intension and extension which causes heated debate.No doubt this phenomenon indicates the distinguishing features of the discipline construction of "studies in Marxism Abroad".In addition,it also reflects its increasing prosperity in academia.However,it is necessary to clarify the four different routes of exposition such as Orthodox Marxism,Neo-Marxism in Eastern Europe,Western Marxism and Marxology Abroad so we can avoid the aimlessness of the discipline construction of "studies in Marxism Abroad",make it scientifically, reduce the unnecessary disputes of concept and find out the relations among them.These four routes have their own characteristics,thereby they should be analyzed realistically,not judged in a labeling manner.Two tendencies should be avoided here:divinization and nihilation of the studies of Marxism Abroad.

Abstract:In the field of international trade,Marx’s theory of labor value is still applicable,but neither to the original country value form,nor the country market value and the country of production price form,but play a role in the form of conversion in the international value,the international market value and international production price.In the field of international commodity exchange,even if we follow the principle of exchange of equal value,to exchange according to the international value of commodity exchange,the international market value or international production price,the result is still the value transfer of wealth from developing or underdeveloped countries to developed countries.If China wants to get rid of in the international exploited status,to achieve their goal of economic development,the fundamental way is to adhere to the principle of construction of independence and self-reliance,accelerate the transformation of economic development mode.

Abstract:The (traditional) labor theory of value, founded by Smith with the basic axiom that labor determines value, and supplemented and improved by Marx with the axiom that labor creates surplus-value. Neoclassical economics newly studied the utility theory of value, but it abandoned the traditional labor theory of value and theory of surplus-value. Under the basic axiomatic system analogous to theoretical mechanics, the above three theories of value has been included and developed by the new theory of value, which established the value complex variable function including three basic quantities of quantity, quality and time, as well as labor value, use-value and surplus-value. Starting from the value complex variable function, with the mathematical methods of Euler equation and Euler formula, this paper conduct a thorough and comprehensive analysis on the theory of value, under satisfactions of Marx’s first and second laws, focusing on value equilibrium by giving the mathematical explicit expressions of both value equilibrium function and price equilibrium function in various forms applicable to the general commodity economic movement process, so as to prove the existence and stability of the extremum solutions to the corresponding functions.
