Studies in Marxism Abroad:Four Routes and Evaluation

Abstract:As a second-rank discipline of Marxist theory,the contents of "studies in Marxism Abroad" vary from university to university as well as the understanding of its intension and extension which causes heated debate.No doubt this phenomenon indicates the distinguishing features of the discipline construction of "studies in Marxism Abroad".In addition,it also reflects its increasing prosperity in academia.However,it is necessary to clarify the four different routes of exposition such as Orthodox Marxism,Neo-Marxism in Eastern Europe,Western Marxism and Marxology Abroad so we can avoid the aimlessness of the discipline construction of "studies in Marxism Abroad",make it scientifically, reduce the unnecessary disputes of concept and find out the relations among them.These four routes have their own characteristics,thereby they should be analyzed realistically,not judged in a labeling manner.Two tendencies should be avoided here:divinization and nihilation of the studies of Marxism Abroad.
