Abstract:This study analyzes the citations of papers on journalism and communication in CSSCI and CNKI,and sorts out the highly cited papers in this field in the period between 1978 and 2007.The paper then compares and contrasts the characteristics of citations in the two indexes,and analyzes the distribution of those highly cited papers on journalism and communication in terms of their domains,years of publication and journals in which they are published.It is found that all academic studies of journalism and communication tend to be innovative in subject matter,but seemingly conservative.

Abstract:The birth of Chinese journalism and journalism history is inseparable from the so-called problem of modernity,namely the problem of "ancient and modern,Chinese and Western" in Chinese context.There are two ideas about the modernity and its discourse to date,one is the evolutionary idea from the traditional to the modern,including the liberalization path of "advancing to the world","in line with international practice" and "wholesale Westernization",and the revolutionization path of "national independence","national liberation" and People's freedom;the other is the culturalism idea from the civilization system to the modern system.Accordingly,it seems that the studies of journalism history can be categorized into different types.This paper makes a preliminary reflection and exploration on it,in the hope of secking after the internal logic of the Chinese journalism in the broad background of civilization.

Abstract:In recent years,studies on the impact of internet on civil society in China become a heated field.We review present studies and point out their weaknesses here in a critical and reflective way.First,thanks to NGOs' contribution in 2008 Wenchuan great earthquake,many scholars overestimate the development of civil society in China;second,under western centrism and technological determinism,they simply interpret the internet as a platform for social forces to challenge the state;third,as to the issue of web public sphere,thinness of theoretical resources,inadequate inquiries of group polarization,and simplistic understanding of rationality in online discussion are major drawbacks.At last,to further the research,we propose some approaches:multiply theoretical foundations,shift research perspectives,explore new research methods and select proper methodology consciously and reflectively.

Abstract:Communication Studies in Chinese mainland start from the most practical spheres of audience research,media management and environmental studies.Introductory articles about Western communication theories and methods also account for a high proportion.Studies on the media literacy and public communication appear until relatively recent years,and the number of organizational communication and interpersonal communication research is still fairly small. The number of studies based on the cases of Chinese mainland is in exponential increase.Moreover,with the increase of international exchanges and the expansion of researcher's academic view in communication,there are more research findings in the communication mechanisms of European countries and the United States,especially in public communication, of which China showed an obvious lack.

Abstract:This study analyzes highly cited papers on the study of new media,and traces the course of development and change of subject in the study of new media in the last 10 years.It is found that in its early period,the study of new media in China,to a large extent,focuses on the introduction of the rapid growing Internet into journalism and communications.In the middle period of the development of the study of new media,scholars driven by the unique Chinese public opinion environment focus their attention on the electronic forum,especially its political ecology.In recent years,in line with the development of the media technology throughout the world,scholars have been concentrating their attention on the new forum for public expression-the blog-which has changed the media ecology.

Abstract:Based on the bibliographical statistics of 224 original papers and proceedings papers from SSCI、AHCI and CPCI-SSH,the paper concludes that there are five distinguished features of new media researches in communication studies during the last 20 years:there are more papers published in communication studies;the year of 1997 is a turning point;USA and European countries are the research centre,while China goes ahead in Asia;the leading journals are coming into being,but the core institutions and authors are still unclear;and finally,the use of internet is the main part of new media studies by far now.

Abstract:Studies of mass communication in China since the year 1978 have undergone three important stages of development.Despite all the criticisms and doubts therein,remarkable progress has been made.At the same time,there are quite a few problems that are worthy of attention: measure-based researches outweigh basic ones,there exists a remarkable rupture inside the discipline which calls for better communication,the right of speaking and power of influence at major issues are weak,and the academic system in the field under discussion is far from sound.To usher in better development in the future,we should further strengthen theoretical construction on the basis of the present empirical studies,pay more attention to rewriting the history of mass communication thoughts,make more in-depth case studies from the angle of anthropology and sociology,and make critical and interpretive studies on media culture.

Abstract:The development of journalism has a huge impact on mobile communication technology and media ecology. Especially in terms of information dissemination, it not only allows people to better obtain the content they are interested in but also provides media workers with more ways to understand their own needs, meet the needs of audiences, and enhance competitiveness. Therefore, in order to enhance the development space of the journalism major, this article studies the communication development path of this major in colleges and universities in the era of mobile communications. This article mainly uses case analysis method, data method, and investigation method to study the development of journalism education in colleges and universities. The survey results show that 21 people believe that the authenticity of news is an indispensable item in teaching. Therefore, the education and communication development of journalism majors in colleges and universities cannot ignore the principle of authenticity. There are 18 people who think it is necessary to tie their majors with the Internet, indicating that colleges and universities can use the Internet platform to teach journalism.

Abstract:Successful national image building can improve the country’s positive influence in the international public opinion environment.Modern information technology and media changes have prompted the international media environment to take great changes.Mass communication has changed from one way to two way,and to a compound mode of communication;foreign audiences' understanding of the news and information have changed profoundly,mainly from getting information passively to participating actively in making and discovering valuable information,organizing activities and creating public opinion,as well as personally engaging themselves in the discussions,in order to influence public affairs.Everyone’s participation in the modern media environment has created unprecedented conditions for cross-cultural communication.This will prompt us to discuss in greater depth the diverse needs of the audience at home and abroad and better respect the actual differences between Chinese and foreign news systems.

Abstract:Hot network events refer to the events that are released by network media,form public opinions and become major concerns.The year 2009 saw quite a few of them and they showed a series of characteristics typical of communication studies: spreading rapidly with corresponding network vocabulary;expanding obviously with participants;spreading generally with their own regularity;reflecting new meanings to the audience psychology;being difficult in identifying and confirming the information accuracy and reliability.They have posed challenges to the existing theories of communication studies in the aspect of their pattern,control and result such as exceeding the present spreading mode,breaking through the theory of the check-maker,and developing the theory of agenda-setting.
