Abstract:Let $f: \mathbb{N} \to \mathbb{C}$ be a multiplicative function for which $$ \sum_{p : \, |f(p)| \neq 1} \frac{1}{p} = \infty. $$ We show under this condition alone that for any integer $h \neq 0$ the set $$ \{n \in \mathbb{N} : f(n) = f(n+h) \neq 0\} $$ has logarithmic density 0. We also prove a converse result, along with an application to the Fourier coefficients of holomorphic cusp forms. The proof involves analysing the value distribution of $f$ using the compositions $|f|^{it}$, relying crucially on various applications of Tao's theorem on logarithmically-averaged correlations of non-pretentious multiplicative functions. Further key inputs arise from the inverse theory of sumsets in continuous additive combinatorics.

Abstract:We prove that if f is a transcendental entire function and the set of all finite singularities of its inverse function f(-1) is bounded, then f(z) + P(z) is prime for any nonconstant polynomial P(z), unless f(z) and P(z) has a nonlinear common right factor. Particularly, it is shown that f(z) + az is prime for any constant a not equal 0.

Abstract:We obtain some quantitative estimates on the number of fixpoints of composite entire function f(g(z)) in the sense of k-order ρk(f(g)). For example, it is proved that if and T(r,f)=O((logr)ρ)(p>1), then the k-order of the counting function N(r,1/(f(g)-z)) is ρk(f(g)), which extends the main result of Bergweiler [1].

Abstract:In this paper first we prove that if f and g are two permutable transcendental entire functions satisfying f = f(1) (h) and g = g(1) (h), for some transcendental entire function h, rational function f(1) and a function g(1), which is analytic in the range of h, then F(g) subset of F(f). Then as an application of this result, we show that if f(z) = p(z)e(q(z)) + c, where c is a constant, p a nonzero polynomial and q a nonconstant polynomial, or f(z) = integral(z) p(z)e(q(z)) dz, where p, q are nonconstant polynomials, such that f(g) = g(f) for a nonconstant entire function g, then J(f) = J(g).

Abstract:$g$ are entire functions, then the composite function $fog$ is of infinite order unless (a) $f$ is of finite order and $g$ is a polynomial or (b) $f$ is of order zero and $g$ is of finite order. Since then, many results related to this and some further results (e.g. Clunie [2], [3], Edrei and Fuchs [4], Mori [5], Yang and Urabe [6], Yang [7]) have been obtained. Abstract:Let $z\ne \pm1,w^2$ be a fixed integer, and let $f(t)\ne g(t)^2$ be a fixed polynomial over the integers. It is shown that the subset of primes $p\geq 2$ such that $z$ and $f(z)$ is a pair of simultaneous primitive roots modulo $p$ has nonzero density in the set of primes. The same analysis generalizes to \textit{admissible} $k$-tuple of polynomials $z$, $f_1(z)$, $f_2(z), \ldots$, $f_k(z)$, such that $f_i(z)\ne g_i(z)^2$, and $k\ll \log p$ is a small integer.

Abstract:Polynomials and entire functions whose hyperbolic dimension is strictly smaller than the Hausdorff dimension of their Julia set are known to exist but in all these examples the latter dimension is maximal, i.e. equal to two. Abstract:Let $f$ be a transcendental entire function of finite order which has an attracting periodic point $z_0$ of period at least $2$. Suppose that the set of singularities of the inverse of $f$ is finite and contained in the component $U$ of the Fatou set that contains $z_0$. Under an additional hypothesis we show that the intersection of $\partial U$ with the escaping set of $f$ has Hausdorff dimension $1$. The additional hypothesis is satisfied for example if $f$ has the form $f(z)=\int_0^z p(t)e^{q(t)}dt+c$ with polynomials $p$ and $q$ and a constant $c$. This generalizes a result of Barański, Karpińska and Zdunik dealing with the case $f(z)=\lambda e^z$.
