Abstract:A microcomputer sytem based on an Apple IIe and an IBM PC/XT computers is described. The system can complete the data-acquisition, fitting and plotting Mössbauer spectra with enough accuracy speed.

Abstract:A microcomputer system used to collect, store, display and analyze the data of Mossbauer spectra is proposed. This paper describes a data acquisition system which can replace the standard multi-channel analyzer in Mossbauer spectroscopy experiments. We have used an 8255 I/O circuit as the interface between the IBMPC and the data collection counters 74LS393 circuit, which is the standard I/O port. The components of this system can easily be obtained and they are cheap. The cost is low and it can be built in most laboratories. The controlling of this system is simple and easy. We have succeeded in designing and developing this system, as well as using this system in the laboratory.

Abstract:A remote data acquisition and control system for Mössbauer spectroscopy based on an embedded computer with the Mini Real-Time Linux operating system is presented. This system can be accessed by an Internet browser or a Java application program, which is designed especially for this purpose. So controlling this system is simple and the interface is user friendly. The components of this system can easily be obtained. So it could be built in most laboratories. We have succeeded in designing and developing this system, as well as using the system at the Key Laboratory for Magnetism and Magnetic Material of Ministry of Education, Lanzhou University, PR China.

Abstract:With the help of modern personal computer (PC) and object oriented programming (OOP) technology, we have recently developed a compact, integrated, user-friendly computer system for Fudan nuclear microprobe, which was originally modeled after the SUNY/Albany system. The system software has been thoroughly rewritten so as to take advantage of today's high-performance PC and facilitate easy upgrading and expansion in the case of future development of both hardware and software.Most functions of this system such as sample searching, scanning control, data acquisition, image processing and displaying, are based on a single 80386 IBM style PC with a 1-MB DRAM TVGA high-resolution monitor. Data from up to 4 ADCs, 4 sensors and a CCD camera can be acquired simultaneously. Two stepper motors are employed to move the target; a CCD camera system is also included to locate the area of interest on the sample; the secondary electron image could act as a reference to fine adjustment. Rectangular raster scanning or irregular scanning is facilitated with beam motion triggered either by a timer or by pulses from a current integrator. A variety of built-in image displaying, processing and printing methods have also been implemented in order to make the maps easier to interpret for the eyes. All of these functions are administrated by an integrated, completely menu-driven software package-MBSYS.

Abstract:A novel spectra instant-collection system developed with Visual Basic 6.0 is introduced. The system provides single and continued working styles for the spectra collection under the cooperation of spectrometer and step-motor, therefore, the operation of spectra collection can be simplified greatly. The experimental result shows that it has some useful reference value for the design of serial communication and USB master-slave system.

Abstract:In this paper a remote data acquisition system for Mössbauer Spectroscopy based on RT-Linux is presented. More precisely, a kernel module is in charge of collecting the data from the data acquisition card which is self-made based on ISA, sharing the data with the normal Linux process through the module of mbuff, carrying out the remote control and returning the results to the client by building a simple and effectual communication model. It's a good sample to deal with the communication between the real time process and the normal process. Modification of data system of ESCALAB MK II electron energy spectrometer

Abstract:The modification of the data collection and processing system of VG series electron energy spectrometers was introduced. The PDP-11 microcomputer of original spectrometer was replaced by IBM-PC microcomputer and PCL-812 control card, so that the ESCALAB MK II electron energy spectrometer could be maintained easier while its data collection index kept up the original record and the data processing function was improved. Since the interface of APPLE II series microcomputers used for the data system is basically the same as that using PDP-11 microcomputer, this modification method is suitable to any electron energy spectrometer having computer-spectrometer interface produced by VG company.

Abstract:With the great development of the embedded and real time operating system,it becomes practical to design the hardware based on PC architecture in high end embedded applications.Especially,the research on embedded Linux is a hots pot in this area.In this thesis,we had built a remote data acquisition and monitor system for Mossbauer spectrum based on the RTLinux.This system could be accessed by the Internet browser or the Java application program specially designed for this purpose.Extensive consideration was given to the design of the system to achieve the most advantageous balance between hardware and software,i.e.,to maintain the ease of handling and full capability of hardware system without employing sophisticated hardware.The concept of the design may be applied to other experiments requiring real time data collection and online data processing facilities.

Abstract:To meet high-accuracy data collection,mass storage and later analysis under some bad conditions of experi ment,the main control unit with MSP430F1611 was designed.16-bit high-accuracy A/D conversion chip ADS1146 is adopted to realize data acquisition.The large capacity TF memory card is used to achieve data mass storage.By making use of the USB-parallel chip FT245 and corresponding host computer software,the data upload was realized,so as to analyze the later da ta.This data acquisition and storage system has already been applied to some experiments and achieved stable experiment re sults.

Abstract:An optimized design method for optical system of a spectroanalyzer is proposed. On the basis of ray optics and spot diagrams obtained through high-density sampling for light source and pupil plane as evaluation factors, the whole system is divided into two subsystems from the entrance of monochromator based on evaluation specifications for spectral analyzing system. A post-processing module is developed through optimizing the first sub-system and monochromator, respectively, and the module is integrated into optical design software. A practical example for optical system of atomic absorption spectrophotometer is given and its operating band is from 190 nanometer to 860nanometer. The design results and sample experiments show that the system has attained the demand of 0.3nanometer spectral resolution.

Abstract:A computer controlled intelligent measurement and data acquisition system for piezoelectric crystal sensor array was studied. The function and structure of the hardware and the software for data acquisition were introduced. This instrument has high precision and stability. The number of piezoelectric crystal sensors measured can be varied from one to twelve. The on-line observation of frequency shift may be completed, and the data of frequency shifts can be saved for later treatment. This instrument provides a strong tool for mixture determination, complex substances classification with piezoelectric crystal sensor array or kinetic frequency signal observation for piezoelectric crystal sensor. It is of great use for analytical chemistry.

Abstract:A software system is developed for use in low-field medical MRI systems.In this paper,the data acquisition and processing systems in the software are introduced.The software allows scan schemes that could meet the requirements of almost all commonly-used MRI experiment.The prescan customizing method could control all kinds of scan schemes.The software is spectrometer-independent so that it can be implemented conveniently in different types of spectrometers.We implemented this software system in a Dispect spectrometer and the experimental results acquired on a 0.35 T system are presented.

Abstract:As superconducting quantum computing continues to advance at an unprecedented pace, there is a compelling demand for the innovation of specialized electronic instruments that act as crucial conduits between quantum processors and host computers. Here, we introduce a Microwave Measurement and Control System (M2CS) dedicated for large-scale superconducting quantum processors. M2CS features a compact modular design that balances overall performance, scalability, and flexibility. Electronic tests of M2CS show key metrics comparable to commercial instruments. Benchmark tests on transmon superconducting qubits further show qubit coherence and gate fidelities comparable to state-of-the-art results, confirming M2CS's capability to meet the stringent requirements of quantum experiments run on intermediate-scale quantum processors. The system's compact and scalable design offers significant room for further enhancements that could accommodate the measurement and control requirements of over 1000 qubits, and can also be adopted to other quantum computing platforms such as trapped ions and silicon quantum dots. The M2CS architecture may also be applied to wider range of scenarios, such as microwave kinetic inductance detectors, as well as phased array radar systems.

Abstract:An updated data acquisition and analysis system for beam tuning and nuclear physics experiments at RIBLL is presented. The system hardware is based on standard CAMAC bus with SCSI KSC3929-Z1B crate controller. The system software has a user-friendly GUI which is written in C/C++ language using Microsoft Visual C++ .Net 2003 with ROOT class library and runs under PC-based Windows 2000 operating system. The performance of the DAQ system is reliable and safe.

Abstract:The design of an integrated NMR spectrometer based on USB is introduced. The spectrometer, in which the control/communication unit, pulse generator, RF waveform transmitter and digital receiver are integrated onto one card, can works in two modes. In Mode I, the spectrometer communicates with a PC through USB connection, and is controlled by PC to complete all tasks including real time control of the spectrometer and data display/processing. In Mode II, the spectrometer is controlled by an integrated microprocessor and can complete all tasks without the participation of the PC. The performance of the proposed system was tested in three experiments using single-pulse, spin-echo and CPMG pulse sequences, respectively.

Abstract:A Z80 processor was replaced with a 386 microcomputer to control pulse generation for hollow cathode lamp and fluorescence signal processing in a Baird Plasma AFS-2000 atomic fluorescence spectrometer. An interface board was designed for control purpose. The system was evaluated with detection limits, relative standard deviations and linear regression coefficients of 15 elements, which were in good agreement with the corresponding values in the manufacturer's manual. With the higher-level microprocessor in the system, the performance of the instrument was improved.

Abstract:X-ray spectroscopy is an important method in exploring the material composition and elemental properties. Traditional spectrometers in X-ray spectroscopy include wavelength-dispersive type and semiconductors-based energy-dispersive type. The former possesses high energy resolution but low collecting efficiency and narrow spectral band coverage, while the latter is more efficient and wider in spectral range but give relatively low energy resolution. Spectrometers based on microcalorimeters serve as a new class of energy-dispersive type spectrometers which balance the performance in energy resolution, detection efficiency, and spectral coverage, making them promising in many spectroscopy applications. The superconducting transition-edge sensor (TES) is a representative class of maturely developed microcalorimeters success in array fabrication and readout. We are developing TESs-based X-ray spectrometer at ShanghaiTech University aiming at the application in advanced X-ray light source, like synchrotron radiation or free electron laser facilities. Recently, a prototype has been set up and started running in the lab. This paper introduces a systematic work on data processing with this prototype, focusing on both data acquisition and analysis. With optimization on both hardware and analysis, we have achieved resolution better than 7 eV in the range from 2 keV to 9 keV on the prototype.
