Abstract:For n = 1, 2, 3, ... define S(n) as the smallest integer m > 1 such that those 2k(k - 1) mod m for k = 1, ... , n are pairwise distinct; we show that S(n) is the least prime greater than 2n - 2 and hence the value set of the function S(n) is exactly the set of all prime numbers. For every n = 4, 5, ... , we prove that the least prime p > 3n with p equivalent to 1 (mod 3) is just the least positive integer m such that 18k(3k - 1) (k = 1, ... , n) are pairwise distinct modulo m. For d is an element of {4, 6, 12} and n = 3, 4, ... , we show that the least prime p >= 2n - 1 with p equivalent to -1 (mod d) is the smallest integer m such that those (2k - 1)(d) for k = 1, ... , n are pairwise distinct modulo m. We also pose several challenging conjectures on primes. For example, we find a surprising recurrence for primes, namely, for every n = 10, 11, ... the (n + 1)-th prime p(n+1) is just the least positive integer m such that 2s(k)(2) (k = 1, ..., n) are pairwise distinct modulo m where s(k) = Sigma(k)(j=1) (-1)(k-j) p(j). We also conjecture that for any positive integer m there are consecutive primes p(k), ... , p(n) (k < n) not exceeding 2m + 2.2 root m such that m = p(n) - p(n-1) + ... + (-1)(n-k) p(k). Abstract:For any positive integer n,n=pα11pα22…pαrr decomposes n into prime powers.The F.Smarandache S(n) is defined as the smallest integer m such that nm!.That is S(n)=min{m:nm!,m∈N}.The prime factor sum function is defined as:ω(n)=p1+p2+…+pk,The main purpose of this paper is using the elementary and analytic methods to study the hybrid mean value problem involving the F.Smarandache function S(n)and the prime factor sum function ω(n).The mean value properties of this new hybrid function S(n)ω(n) are obatained and the paper gives a sharper asymptotic formula for it.

Abstract:A positive integer n is called a covering number if there are some distinct divisors n_1,...,n_k of n greater than one and some integers a_1,...,a_k such that Z is the union of the residue classes a_1(mod n_1),...,a_k(mod n_k). A covering number is said to be primitive if none of its proper divisors is a covering number. In this paper we give some sufficient conditions for n to be a (primitive) covering number; in particular, we show that for any r=2,3,... there are infinitely many primitive covering numbers having exactly r distinct prime divisors. In 1980 P. Erdos asked whether there are infinitely many positive integers n such that among the subsets of D_n={d>1: d|n} only D_n can be the set of all the moduli in a cover of Z with distinct moduli; we answer this question affirmatively. We also conjecture that any primitive covering number must have a prime factorization p_1^{alpha_1}...p_r^{alpha_r} (with p_1,...,p_r in a suitable order) which satisfies $\prod_{0<t<s}(alpha_t+1)\ge p_s-1$ for each s=1,...,r, with strict inequality when s=r.

Abstract:Let $p_{r+1}-1>n \geq p_r-1$, based on a sequence $\{1,2,3\cdots\ M_r(M_r=p_1p_2\cdots p_r)\}$, we compare the density of coprime numbers and establish a correlation between the proportions of coprime numbers in the ranges from 1 to consecutive square numbers. Then, we derive the relationship between the number of coprimes in the interval of $n^2 \sim {(n+1)}^2$ and the proportion of coprimes in the interval of $1 \sim n^2$, proving that there is at least one prime number between any $n^2$ and ${(n+1)}^2$. By extending our research to the range of $1 \sim M_r^2$, we establish the relationship between the proportions of backwards coprime numbers in the ranges from ${M_r}^2$ to consecutive square numbers; furthermore, we establish a relationship between the proportions of coprimes in small interval and the whole interval. Then, in conclusion, the number of coprimes between $n^2$ and ${(n+1)}^2$ is greater than $n\prod_{i=1}^{r}{(1-\frac{1}{p_i}})$, thus proving that there are at least 2 prime numbers between $n^2$ and ${(n+1)}^2$.

We mainly show that the sequence a(n) = (n)root S-n/n (n = 1, 2, 3, ... ) is strictly decreasing, and moreover the sequence a(n+1)/a(n) (n = 10, 11, ... ) is strictly increasing. Abstract:We establish quantitative lower bounds for the number of primes $p$ such that, for an odd integer $b$, $p - b \leq N$ and $p - b = 2^{k(N) + m} P_k \quad \text{for some } m \geq 0$, where $P_k$ is a product of at most $k$ primes other than 2, for $k \geq 2$. These results hold under various upper bounds for $2^{k(N)}$ depending on $k $, specifically when $2^{k(N)} \leq N^a$ for different values of $a$. Our approach combines techniques from Chen's theorem, weighted sieves, and Selberg's lower bound sieve, as well as results on primes in arithmetic progressions with large power factor moduli.

Abstract:We make many new observations on primitive roots modulo primes. For an odd prime $p$ and an integer $c$, we establish a theorem concerning $\sum_g(\frac{g+c}p)$, where $g$ runs over all the primitive roots modulo $p$ among $1,\ldots,p-1$, and $(\frac{\cdot}p)$ denotes the Legendre symbol. On the basis of our numerical computations, we formulate 35 conjectures involving primitive roots modulo primes. For example, we conjecture that for any prime $p$ there is a primitive root $g 3$ there is a prime $q 3$ there exists a Fibonacci number $F_k 3$.
